This company did an excellent job and finished everything off so much better than the previous company we used on the other floors in our home. I would recommend Zapata Hardwood Floors as they did a great job for us.

They did a crappy job. The floor when it was done was not even consistent with the floor outside the room. There is about half an inch difference. They probably did better up front before I left the house and they could have told me that could happen then I would not have the floor installed. The problem was how they lay the floors. Since I don?t lay floors, I don?t know that that could be the result. They finished in one day and they would not wait until I get home so I could look at the result. I think they did it on purpose. However, the price was good.
Description of Work: I used Zapata Hardwood Floors. They were the installers.

They made mistakes. Cracks appeared in the floor after they laid it... some pretty large ones. At the entry way one crack was about 3/8" wide... some smaller but still very noticeable ones at two other door ways. Brent came to check it out after several phone calls and asked me to call him back in a month. I think he though it might fix itself. I waited a month and made an appointment for them to come back. They came a day earlier than expected... not convenient -- but, we rearranged out plans to accommodate them. He had tried to get us to buy another carton of material to use in fixing their job. I had seen them break up and carry away long pieces... and it didn't seem right that we should have to buy more material. He did supply the material in the end. He was a real sour puss and pretty rude... and that is after he told me that he didn't care for rude northerners coming to Tallahassee. We're not rude and we're not exactly northerners either. I'm from Texas and my husband is Hungarian. He didn't do good work... delayed fixing a bad job... was not pleasant to work with... didn't return phone messages promptly. They did eventually get the floor fixed. I would also hesitate to use Lumber Liquidators if that is the quality of workmen they send out with their material. We had to pay Lumber Liquidators for the installation, yet when I called about the cracks appearing in the floor, they told me they weren't responsible and that I would have to deal with Zapata directly.
Description of Work: Laid a bamboo floor purchased at Lumber Liquidator. The area covered was the living, dining, kitchen with breakfast area and hallway.

We are doing extensive renovatioan in a home we purchased that requires extensive wood floor patching in areas where a wall would be removed, kitchen cabinets reconfigured and tile foyer removed leaving blank open areas without wood flooring. When Mr. Zappata arrived he immediately put me at ease. He identified the wood as very common, easy to find and per my request said it would be very possible to get a close match, strip and stain darker to achieve a uniform look. He took time and care to a**** the project and gave me a quote that was very reasonable. He also gave me tips on what would run my costs up, very appreciated. Because I was unable to book him until our project was further along we ran out of time so I decided to just go with installing a close match. Once I found the matching wood I called him back to ask if he could do the smaller patch job and he explained how it would be exorbitant for his workers to "patch" new wood into existing wood and why. He suggested I find someone who works by the square foot and was self employed. I was very surprised that he recommended competition but his goal was that I was taken care of and costs were in my expected range. In hindsight I wish I had gone with my first idea, If I'm not happy with my patch job in a couple of years I would definitely call him to sand, stain and seal. He was realistic about my project and helped me stay on track considering I had already ordered the replacement wood when I called him back to do the patch project. I definitely recommend this company and can't say enough good things about my experience!!! Excellent!!!

I do not feel that they provided quality service. Not a lot of attention to detail. Promised a lot initially, but did not deliver.
Description of Work: Zapata installed new yellow pine floors in two rooms, filled in the old AC floor duct holes with pine, and refinished the pine floors in the entire house.
