Woodlane does excellent custom work. They have a state-of-the-art factory in Tallahassee. But Chris Robertson, who was in charge, was the reason for such outstanding work. His measurements were quick and accurate, and his design talents are superlative. I have a 1942 home and wanted something that would fit in. Chris listened and made it happen. He was always responsive. He took me on a tour of his shop and arranged for me to go to Valdosta to select the soapstone. Chris uses a computer-assisted design program that, from his laptop, shows how every option and change will look.
Description of Work: Installed new custom-made cabinets and a soapstone counter. The old kitchen was gutted for the installation. Riley-Palmer Construction Company (Rodney Wilhite and Keith Wilson, two of the nicest people I've ever worked with) did an excellent job of demolition, recessing the refrigerator, electrical, plumbing, and painting.

First, let me say that everyone with Woodlane Cabinet is outstanding. We met with Chris at the beginning and were only looking for them to build the boxes for our cabinets as we were using the wood of an old (175 year old) cherry tree that had died on our property. The boxes for our custom kitchen were $4,000 and we (my husband) assembled them and installed them in the kitchen space, Each box had peel and stick identifiers and we had instruction sheet to guide the assembly. My husband used a battery operated screwdriver (which he absolutely loved) and assembled our kitchen in about a week's worth of time over all. The neatest part of the construction is that a computer is used to cut out the pieces exactly to the dimensions of your room and they all sat on plastic cups or feet which could be adjusted. This allowed you to level the cabinets in a second - again a plus when doing it yourself. The upper cabinets are hung on a steel rod - again allowing you to level the rod and then hang the cabinet. Fast and accurate. Just awesome for the do-it-yourselfer. These were just the boxes and the drawers - no cabinetry like the doors or trim. We learned so much about how to do it right and these guys are simply the best. Our cabinet guy fell through and so we returned to Woodlane to see if they could consider doing our wood. Keep in mind the wood was rough milled and not ready for cabinets. Chris had us bring the wood and the shop guys came out and loved the wood (the tree was 148" around and one of Florida's largest cherry trees ever). Woodlane had no idea how long it would take to prepare the wood and so we went shop hours rather than a per cabinet price. Even so, it came out extremely reasonable considering the craftsmanship involved. We showed them a picture and they gave us the kitchen of our dreams. My husband learned how to finish putting the wood faces on the cabinets and Woodlane sent someone out to assist in the alignment of the door facings at NO CHARGE. The young man was here all day and did an amazing job. We cannot say enough about how wonderful these guys are. If you are looking for custom or even just standard - you simply cannot go wrong if you choose Woodlane. The only bad thing I can say is they don't work on Fridays :D - But, I guess they deserve a three-day weekend for all their hard work and long hours during the week. Our kitchen is one-of-a-kind beautiful. We are ever so grateful for the totally talented folks at Woodlane. They really love wood and it shows.
Description of Work: Design service Cabinet fabrication Custom peninsula table with drawers All Hardware Assembly instructions Wood preparation from cherry rough milled lumber provided by customer Onsite install assistance ( we were DYI) Chris with Woodlane was also very good at helping us decide on function of cabinets. He was knowledgeable on the latest kitchen features - which ones worked and which ones were just fads. Our undersink pull out garbage and recycle unit is one of our favorites as is the use of small space for tray storage, etc.
