Sperling Irrigation Systems

Mr. Sperling installed my irrigation system atop of my septic system mound and very close to my drain field. My Drain Field has inadvertently failed due to the overflow of water attributed in part to the irrigation system installment and sprinkler system placement. Mr. Sperling refises to meet with me or any other contractor to address this major issue. The Leon County Health Dept. Is also involved. This is very unprofessional, selfish, and bad business. Every time anyone attempts to speak with him he tells, screams, and says his his kids are sick, has to go to school, or are out of school. He should be running and operating a daycare instead of his irrigation business.

I called Sperling Irrigation after several other attempts to get system repaired, even the installer would not come look at problem. They came out the same day and fixed everything with no fuss. Very reasonable. Refreshing after so many said they would come out and simply did not, a common Tallahassee problem with all services!

All went smoothly and the job was finished in two days. Well, I should say it probably would have been done in less than two days but a rusty connection at the main line (on the city side) broke so the City of Tallahassee sent out a crew to fix it--that took some time but John and Ben continued to work on other aspects of the system so I am not sure if that slowed them down. All nozzles are covering all corners of my yard so I won't have to drag around sprinklers for hours every week.

Ben did a very nice job designing and installing the irrigation system for our new home. The work was performed on time and within budget. And follow-up service to make minor adjustments has been prompt and effective.

The work was done very professionally and efficiently. In addition, Sperling made suggestions as to how we could further improve the use of our irrigation system.

Everything was great with Ben. I received 4 quotes from different companies and he was the lowest. Sometimes I am hesitant in going with the lowest quote but after talking with him for 5 mins, I knew he was the person I wanted to go with. He has been doing this for a long time and you can immediately tell by talking with him. To top it off, he went above and beyond what I expected when he also laid some sod that I ordered. Overall the experience was amazing. I called him a couple times after my sprinkler system was installed and he was quick to answer and even dropped off a couple parts for free on my doorstep just incase I wanted to modify/fix something myself. I can't say enough good things. One of the best things I like about Ben is that he does not own a huge business. He is involved in all the jobs that he does and this ensures everything is done to his high standards. I found out about him on Angies list and hope anyone that reads this review will at least give him a call and let him quote the job. I promise you that you won't be disappointed.

I called Mr. Sperling in the middle of April to discuss getting a residential irrigation system repaired. He told me he was very busy and we would have to make an appointment for a few weeks later. I agreed to wait, so we made an appointment for the first Monday in May. He told me he'd call about an hour before the appointed time. On the day scheduled for the appointment, he called to tell me that because it had rained the entire week before, he'd not been able to stay on schedule and was having to postpone my job until the following Monday. I said ok because I knew it had rained a lot and understood the problem of trying to work outside in bad weather. But then on the rescheduled appointment date, he didn't show up and he didn't call. About an hour after he said he would be at my house, I called his number to see what was happening. The call rolled to his voicemail and I left a message asking about our appointment and what was happening with getting the work done. The message was not returned. I've never heard from him again. Even assuming that for some reason he didn't get the voice message, we had an appointment for that date. He had my telephone number. I waited a few days to hear from him and then called someone else to do the work. Basically, I waited on Mr. Sperling for a month, and then he didn't have the courtesy to call and tell me he wasn't interested in doing the work. He has good reviews on here, which is why I called him to begin with. But a "no show/no call" experience is enough to get a bad review from me.

System was installed professionally and in an expeditious manner. My only complaint was he did not sod where he dug the trenches. Consequently , weeds have taken over those spots and the grass has not filled in a he said it would. Otherwise, was very pleased with the work.

They cost of the project was not cheap, but the high-end sprinklers and valve equipment he was going to install as well as the large property involved for the project likely merited the cost estimate. The owner was very candid and prepared to do the necessary work. Ultimately, I did not use his services because my brother, who owns the property, did not want to take a chance that the necessary trenches needed might injure roots of several century- old oak trees. If it had been my decision, I probably would have used this particular company to do the work since digging trenches and renting the necessary equipment seemed overwhelming to a novice like myself.

Ben does great work and is very flexible - he was able to work around other contractors we had on the job the yard looks great.

We had demoed our pool deck and in doing so, had ripped up most of the pool area irrigation. The owner Ben, returned my call the first day, came by the day and came up with a phased solution. Came over the next day with an additional knowledgeable asst. , gave me a quick fix to get us by until we were ready for him to install the pool area. He fixed a few broken sprinkler heads, replaced the face and electronics of my program box, gave me a couple of good referrals for some additional pool and deck work. I am getting a bid from him on some additional landscaping work.

They were very professional. They said they would be at my house at 9:30 and they were always on time. They always put in a full days work as planned. Plus they were always willing to explain to me what they were doing and allow me to take pictures so I would know how it all fit together. They used good quality sprinklers that fit the area perfectly. The controls installed were very easy to use. The entire crew was very knowledgible and very hard workers. They all did a great job. I would highly recommend the company and hire them again in a heartbeat. Their price might not be the lowest price but the price matched the quality of work. I personally would rather have someone skilled working on something like a sprinkler system since it involves a lot of detailed planning and work. Also they tweak the entire systems once it is in the ground in order to get just the proper spray. Besides that they were all very friendly and polite.

Called the service on recommendation of business partner. Prompt service, came out same day. All problems were promptly resolved. Cleaned up after themselves, and left no mess. Explained all of the work in detail, and left a detailed invoice.
