They replaced wooden steps on the front of my house. The steps immediately started leaking sap. People were tracking sap into my house. The manager said they would "manage it" while the sap leaked out, and eventually it would stop. Wrong. They did come and sop some of it up a few times, then repainted those spots, but a year later, there was still sap spewing from numerous boards. Finally, the new manager said he would make this right. He sent the carpenter back out to my house and he replaced some of the boards. Now, of course, those boards have to "cure" before painting so the steps leading to my front door look terrible, as they have since April 2013. Here's the kicker -- one of the boards the carpenter did not replace (despite my having put a post-it note showing where the sap spots were) is leaking sap! So, after spending thousands of dollars, my entry looks terrible and people are tracking sap into my house 18 months after the job was done. I sent pictures showing the current leaking sap, and sent emails asking them to please replace the oozing board. They will not return my phone calls or emails!
Description of Work: I gave Riverking a good review when they did the painting job originally 18 months ago. The painters were very good, very professional, and very talented. Since that time, well, it's a different story -- read on

They arrived at scheduled time and went right to work. Very professional and focused (and I mean focused). Fun to talk to on the few occasions they were not totally focused on their work. Good attention to detail. Worked overtime to handle problem found under a large bathroom mirror with no increase in cost. Final walkthru found practically only a few minor problems. Corrections were made immediately. Intend to get estimates from them for doing exterior paint work in the near future. If price is right, they will get the work.

Gary and Riverking staff picked up the pieces to be painted promptly and worked with our schedule pretty well. They ended up taking longer than expected due to the weather and underestimating the time to do oil based painting. The results were very good. They took great care in delivering the pieces back and provided all of the service that we asked. They did mention that they significantly underquoted the job.
Description of Work: Painted kitchen cabinet doors, drawers and shelves. All were pre-prepped and had primer applied by us.

I chose RiverKing base on Angie's List reviews. They were not the cheapest bid I got but I was really looking for quality and as little hassle as possible. First, the good; These guys are talented painters. They are extremely detailed. On the interior painting, they removed all my stuff and put it all back without the first question about where something went. They took photos and just took care of it. There was NO MESS. I work at home, and they were extremely unobtrusive. I didn't like the color of white they used on my stairwell, and they repainted it cheerfully! They were just very positive about everything and super nice people. They did the best pressure washing job I have ever had done on my house, very thorough. Now, the bad: The pressure washing left dirty crud on my windows (which I had just paid to have cleaned) and I had to hire someone to afterward to clean the windows. They didn't finish some little things, and it took them a good while to get back and do them. They started my job in April, and didn't finish these little things until June. Part of that, to be fair to them, was that they had to wait for my front steps to "cure," before painting them. So that part was not unexpected. Here are some things that WERE unexpected: They declared the job finished but hadn't put the final coat on my upper porch floor. I had to call the manager to get them to come back and do the final coat. In the end, there are still some prominent white marks on the floor from a chair they put back too soon on the wet paint. They also didn't properly paint a section of my lower porch floor which is covered with a large piece of sectional furniture. If I ever move that furniture, that part of the porch floor will have to be repainted. For the money I spent, that's disappointing. They cleaned their brushes during the last part of the job on my pale concrete driveway, leaving a big dark green swath. Why they did that is beyond me, I have 2 acres of woods, and they were not using the driveway to clean their brushes on before that. I complained to the manager, Gary, and he apologized and they came promptly and pressure washed it. You can tell they really want their customers to be happy. And, like I said, super nice people. Before these last issues, I would have given them an A plus. But I'd say a B since I now have to touch up the marks on the upper porch floor and I will have to repaint part of the lower porch floor if and when I move that sectional.

Riverking was very professional and tried to keep with our quick timeline. A walk through was done which is very important. A quick comeback to clear small items. All painting looked very very good and has a warranty. Front door was alot of hours for a very good price and is looking great.

They were very good. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. The people were really pleasant. They stuck by their original estimate, which was the best one we had gotten. Their price was very reasonable.

They did a very good job. Nice people to work with - friendly and professional. Cleaned up every day when they had completed the work for the day. It took less than a week to go from ugly taupe to a nice gray.
Description of Work: We had them paint the exterior of our house and a large shed.

They were excellent. They matched the colors I had perfectly. The price was exactly what they had quoted which was comparable to other estimates I had gotten. They went a little further than everyone else. They took down all of my guttering and had it reinstalled so they could paint underneath appropriately. Anything I found that I wanted changed they did, when they were supposed to, how they were supposed to and at the price they were supposed to do it. I've had many compliments on how the house looks.
