I’m not sure where to start, maybe the unprofessionalism, maybe how entitled Steven (the owner) thinks he is, or maybe how NO ONE and I mean NO ONE will do work or even consider this company as reparable.
Per the company website I called to get a FREE quote and esti. Steven (the owner) came and took pictures and wrote up a quote.
He advised me that a third party would have to come and perform an air quality and mold test (Ericks Environmental Consulting-D NOT USE). After getting the results back, Recon submitted the pictures taken at my property along with the report from the Mold and Air test. I had to follow up with my insurance company several times to follow up on my claim.
No work was ever actually started or completed by the company (Recon)
After finally receiving payment from my insurance company I contacted Recon and advised them I had a check with there company name on it. I asked to speak with Ashley (Stevens wife) who was the one that initially advised me the quote and estimate was FREE in hopes to earn my business. After reviewing reviews on the company along with several complaints about the company I decided to look around for another company to do the work.
Steven called me back VERY HOSTILE AND AGGRESSIVELY saying “do you know how much time and effort and resources I used in order to get the quote approved for you” I replied “excuse me, I’m sorry what” he repeated himself saying the same thing again “and advised me that if I want to go with a different company who wants to do the work for cheaper which it would be hard to find them go ahead but he was going to charge me $525 to use their resources”.
As the conversation progressed I was able to speak with Ashley however Steven was still in the background giving her guidance on what to say.
I contacted my insurance company and informed them I will not do business with this company. I NEVER signed anything saying I owed the company anything for a QUOTE PER the company website.
I do not recommend this company, Steven is very unprofessional. I do recommend if you even have an issue with this company file a formal complaint.

Mya, here are the facts..
1. Yes, RECON does offer free inspections and free estimates and you received both in April.
2. While Steven was on-site conducting a VERY THOROUGH inspection, you signed a RECON Worker's Authorization & 3rd Party Vendor Form. It was explained to you that by signing both forms you are allowing RECON to submit information to your insurance company, on your behalf. These forms also allow us to contract with a 3rd party (i.e., Mold Assessor) to conduct an AQT and provide a Protocol, as supporting documentation for your claim. RECON incurred the initial cost, with your approval, by signing the forms.
4. We submitted all supporting documentation and photos to your insurance carrier to support your claim. We spent many Administrative hours calling and emailing your adjuster to get information and provide answers.
5.We have a documented call between yourself and Ashley in May, and you stated you "were hiring an Attorney to get some movement on the claim" and Ashley explained to you that the only payment due at this time is $750 for the initial incurred cost for the Protocol and you understood.
6.It took a while, but your claim was finally reviewed and determined a covered loss in June based on the supporting documentation we provided.
7.Between June and today we have reached out multiple times for you to pay the outstanding invoice of $750 and you refuse to pay.
8. We are not asking for you to pay for the inspection or estimate, only the 3rd party costs that we initially incurred for you.
9. RECON did not do any demo or work at your home; however, many man hours were put into calling your insurance and working with your adjuster.
10. RECON did agree to endorse the checks; however, we just want to be compensated accordingly, for initial costs incurred.
Again, we will be happy to endorse the checks, so you can do as you please; however, we are just wanting to recoup money that you initially agreed to pay. Please do not slander our name as we DO NOT have any Consumer Complaints. Thank you!
