It went terribly from the beginning. My husband and I found a home before we found a real estate agent. So I naturally went to Angie's List and found Penny Herman and her outstanding reviews. One plus is that she was punctual and emailed me back right away. But as soon as I showed her the house online, she went into a long diatribe about how stucco was terrible and it was involved in many lawsuits, and she would personally NEVER buy a house with stucco on it. Mind you, this was a stucco house from top to bottom. She didn't even bother to look at the other elements the house had, the giant screened in porch, the updated kitchen and bathrooms, and renovated flooring. Well I went against Penny's advice and went to another realtor, bought that stucco house, and have been living in it for about a year now. It is simply perfect. My advice? Don't choose your realtor based on what someone else says about her - get a 2nd opinion from another professional.

Penny is the best real estate professional I have ever worked with. She prices homes fairly, provides top quality advice, and is attentive to my concerns. Most importantly, Penny sells homes! A Realtor more concerned about her customers than her pocketbook. A rare find. Whether buying or selling a home, Penny is the best!

Penny was wonderful to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and was very responsive throughout the process of selling our home. She had great ideas for updating our home, gave us good advise on what to update and what to keep, and had excellent subcontractors. We needed to sell very quickly. Penny was able to sell our house in less than a month and was able to get us our asking price. I would highly recommend penny to anyone buying or selling a home.

It went wonderfully. We have the house we wanted, in a desirable area and at a reasonable price. Penny was helpful at every step of the way and even negotiated a slight reduction in price of the house to cover radon mitigation. Her work is outstanding, from finding us a house we liked that was not on the market yet, to overseeing the work of the painter when we were out of town. She is the person we go to whenever we have a question about getting work done on the house. I would recommend her on the very highest level.

Excellent. When we decided to purchase a home, Penny was recommended to us by a very good friend who knew a lot of realtors in Tallahassee. We worked with Penny for more than a year to find the perfect house. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive, patient, and honest. I especially valued her honesty, and she always offered very sage advice about the homes we considered, and went above and beyond to make sure we went into buying a home with eyes wide open. I never, ever felt that she was just trying to sell us a house. She genuinely cared about helping us find a great home. She was always helpful in answering our questions and worked to make sure we made the best decision for our family. She was also great in helping us maneuver the inspection process and staying on task as we finalized our home purchase. Penny Herman has been our real estate agent on several transactions over the years including the most recent sale of our investment property at 120 Westridge Drive in Tallahassee. In each case, Penny has been a tremendous partner to work with and made the entire process simple and easy for us. The closing for the sale of our house in Tallahassee took place yesterday. Penny Herman listed and sold the house. Penny listed the house on a Saturday and held an open house that Sunday. She had two full price offers by that evening. She essentially initiated a bidding war between the two parties and we ultimately agreed to sell the house at a price that was over $36000 higher than the list price. We actually talked to Penny about 5 months before we listed the house, and asked her to make a walk through to suggest things we should do to get the house ready for sale. She made a long list of recommendations, but was confident that if we did them all they would pay off. She also arranged for an inspection and an appraisal to be done. Penny went through the house with the appraiser and explained what we planned to do before selling. His appraisal assumed that these things would be done. Penny also recommended specific local people to do the various kinds of work. All of those she recommended were very good and their prices were very reasonable (we cannot say the same about a few that we found on our own). After we completed the work, Penny felt that we should get more than the earlier appraisal suggested, however, so we listed the house at $15000 above that appraisal. Penny knew the local market was short of houses, and that prices were going up. She obviously was correct since we ended up selling at price that was over $51000 above that earlier appraisal. When the buyer had a new appraisal done it indicated that the price increase was justified in light of other recent sales. We actually chose to work with Penny over 30 years ago. When we decided to accept a job offer and move to Tallahassee, we asked one of the people working in the organization that made the job offer if he could recommend a good realtor to help us find a house. He replied that he had done the same thing when he moved to Tallahassee and Penny had been recommended to him. He said she was great, so we called her. We flew into Tallahassee to spend 3 days house hunting and she found a great house for us before we left. We found Penny to be very easy to work with. She is friendly and outgoing but she also knows the local market very well and she works hard for her clients. Therefore, a few years later when we decided to build a new house to accommodate our growing family, We asked Penny to help us find a lot. We actually found a lot that was not listed, however, and decided to buy it. Penny helped with all the paper work and arrangements for the purchase anyway, but did not charge us any fee because we found the lot ourselves. The house we just sold is the one we built on the lot. All of our experiences with Penny have been excellent. We strongly recommend her to anyone planning to either buy or sell property in the Tallahassee area, and do so without any reservations whatsoever. In fact, we have recommended her several times over that last 30 years and everyone who followed our recommendation has been very happy with the results. Many of them have recommended her to others.

Penny did a great job. After having been burned by a bad realtor experience years earlier, we chose her because of her good reviews on AL, and she didn't disappoint. She was responsive and professional. She worked around our schedule. She gave us good guidance on proper staging of the house to maximize our chances of a good sale. We put a lot of work into it, but when it came time to list it, it looked great. Penny took professional-quality photos that showed our house in the best light. Although it was a 22-year old house, it had some nice updates and we priced it competitively even with newly-constructed homes of similar size. When all was said and done, we were under contract within 3 days at a great price. Penny even worked through some hiccups to help us close after we'd already moved out-of-state. Penny is a true professional. She is extremely honest and knowledgeable in her field. If you are looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear then do not call Penny. If you want a professional that will set realistic goals and help you get the most money for the least out of pocket expense then call her immediately.

After reading the good reviews on Penny, I called her and requested she come to our house and advise us on whether to complete a bathroom renovation, given that we were considering selling the house next year. We also wanted to know the low-ball price at which we could expect to move the house quickly should we decide to sell at this time. She walked through the house and made many suggestions and advised us not to do the major renovation that we had scheduled, but to do something simpler and use the saved money to do another project. She told us that any estimate she could give us this year probably would not apply a year from now, but consulted with a fellow realtor and called me back within a couple of days with a price range. When we do decide to put the house on the market, we will list with her.

Penny Herman is the best real estate agent in Tallahassee. She has worked with me for the past 4 years. We've been trying to sell our house for that long and she would give us advice on when to put it on the market and when not to. This year (2015) we finally agreed that it was time to put it on the market. She worked with us thru the whole process, from March till it sold in August. Her professionalism was outstanding. Penny did a fantastic job working with us to sell several of our rental properties in Tallahassee. Ms. Herman helped us look at several options in different neighborhoods. . She found a listing in a good neighborhood that was much lower than comparable properties on the same street.
