The crew showed up promptly with all of the needed equipment. They immediately went to work to pull out the old system and then put in the new unit. They cleaned up after the job was finished. Josh showed me how to work the programmable thermostat and left all of the booklets. Jarod called me after they left to make sure everything went well and we made an appointment next week for him to return to go over the rebate forms for my new unit. I was extremely satisfied with the couteous attitude and their respectful ways with cleaning up my property when they were done. I defintely would recommend them to others. Very good experience!

We were having a very big noise coming from our air conditioner. The tech came out and could not determine the issue since the noise wasn't present while he was there. He indicated if it continued, he would come out again and we would not be charged the diagnostic fee. Two months later, the noise was worse, so I called them back and explained the issue. A different tech told me he could come out the next day and I would not be charged the diagnostic fee. The next day he came out, and the A/C was not making the loud noise, but I did have a video of it. He checked and told me what he thought was the issue, and changed a part that didn't have anything to do with the loud noise. After he was done he said that he would after all have to charge the diagnostic fee. Said someone else said he had to charge it, but he wouldn't charge for the part. My overall rating has to do with the fact that I was told there would not be a diagnostic fee on two separate occasions. Then, AFTER the service was performed I was told I had to pay it. This just seems shady to me . . . if there was going to be a fee, I should have been told BEFORE the service was performed, so I could get someone else to do it.
Description of Work: Having loud noises from A/C. Came out two times . . . did not fix issue either time. First time came out tried to determine issue, but couldn't. Second time hypothesized on issue, and replaced a part that was unrelated to the issue at hand.

From the beginning of the project it was a mess. The problems: 1) You would think for a project this big they would start early in the morning, yet the first day they did not get to our house until 11am and left at 3pm. The supposed 3 day project turned into 6. 2) They failed to mention to us that they would leave a GAPING HOLE in our garage ceiling and in the area that they relocated our thermostat and that would be OUR responsibility to re-plaster. 3) We asked for the top of the line thermostat and since installation, we have had to replace it 4 times over the course of two years. 4) The A/C stopped working after one year and 10 months due to an air inlet valve that died in the compressor and needed replaced. ONE YEAR AND 10 MONTHS something needed to be replaced? If this issue seems strange, check out 6(a) below! 5) When we had our bathroom remodeled in July, 2011, ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH AFTER INSTALLATION BY PARKER. Our contractor was very upset one day and told us that they found something disturbing regarding the A/C work that had been done. He said that the service tech from Parker never properly finished sealing the old duct when replacing the sole register now in the ceiling with a larger one. In addition, and much more dangerous, our contractor informed us that we did NOT pass the electrical inspection because the city inspector found "old wiring" from the electric water heater that Parker had replaced simply "jammed" in the wall in-between the insulation....which was clearly a fire hazard. Parker's installers should have removed the old wiring, and we are just fortunate that a fire didn't start due to these wires being left in our wall. To add insult to injury, we were required to hire an electrician to come out and finish the job that Parker should have done before we could pass our city inspection in the bathroom! 6) FINALLY, two years later our rooms that originally had little air flow continue to see no flow causing us to run fans continuously to keep cool. We called another long-standing A/C company to access our current home A/C system and all the work that Parker did and they found that: a) Parker never flushed the line-set of R22 refrigerant and this has caused residue in the compressor which has shortened the compressor life. We were informed the damage is done and we can do nothing about that now. b) Parker sold us a two-stage A/C with duct work that was not matched properly. The existing spider duct work is matched to a one-stage system, yet Parker SOLD US A TWO-STAGE COMPRESSOR that requires a different design. Bottom line is the air never makes it to the furthest end of the house and we were advised this, too, will shorten the compressor lifespan. c) Because we have had so many serious issues, we are now having our entire electrical system inspected to assure us there are no other problems that could surface in the future. Last, we will update the review after the electrical inspection is complete.
Description of Work: When we needed to replace our A/C, we made the decision to convert to Gas for our heating and water heater at the same time. We got 3 bids from local contractors, but went with Parker Services because of the length of time they had been in business in Tallahassee. In addition, my friend had some minor work done by them and was pleased. We had Mike Smith come out to speak to us about the project and he was knowledgeable and friendly. He sold us the a variable speed 17 Seer Carrier A/C; a forced hot air gas furnace and 40 gallon gas water heater. In addition, we had previously been displeased with the air flow not reaching the opposite side of the house where the compressor was located, so we asked Parker to check our ducts. They said everything was good and we should consider putting in an additional intake vent to help. We agreed to do this and added to our list of required services.

The serviceman arrived on time and promptly determined that the A/C was not turning on because the thermostat was inoperable. He obtained a replacement from his truck, a very simple, non-programmable thermostat, and advised me the price was $240 plus an hour of labor for about $60. I thought I recalled seeing them at Home Depot for less than $40, so I contemplated thanking him and paying him for his service call and replacing the thermostat myself. But I wasn't sure about the price, so I decided that because the service call was otherwise timely and professional, I should simply bite the bullet. Afterward I did check at Home Depot, where I found thermostats from another manufacturer were less than $25. I then checked online and found my exact thermostat for $44 with free shipping; if purchased ten at a time they were about $40 each. In other words, Parker Services spiked the price about 550% before selling it to me. I sent a letter of complaint to them. The manager left a phone message but made no further attempt to contact me. I do not know if this is typical to inflate repair parts to this extent, but I will most certainly not do business with them again.
Description of Work: Diagnosed why the A/C was not coming on. Determined that the thermostat was bad. Replaced the thermostat.

If any company dose not make a profit it will not be a company for long. What about the cost of the truck the insurance the people that awnsered the phone the people that ordered the tstat and had it on the truck when they arrived. the fact that the system was working when we left. The cost of the schools and the training the 24 hour service some one to awnser the phones 24 hours aday 365 days a year. I know that You just can go on line and get all this for $44.00 You need to do that next time. And Im sure if you have a problem with warranty or if theirs another problem that Your internet can fix it and probably send You Money back. Also we were always up front with you about everthing we did and You did not Question any thing. You can by lots of things on the internet CHEAPER than some one can warehouse an retail it. We were up front with you. We gave you good profesional service If that is not what You expect, America is still afree country. Exercise that freedom and GOD BLESS you and GOD BLESS AMERICA.

It was an excellent experience. They had to come back to reset the LP gas, as the gas company let the gas run out, preventing the unit from working. They also reset the humidity control. It has made a lot of difference with the "sweating" inside of the house. I was very satisfied with the work they did. They are very efficient with their work and come when you call them. We have used them on other occasions on rental properties.
Description of Work: They installed a new LP gas heating/AC system.
