They are nice folks, but Linn's grossly overcharges for parts. He charged me $100 for a 1" PVC ball valve and $189.99 each for (3) Hunter 1" PGV valves. I thought those were high and questioned it (only knew price from Home Depot at the time) and they said there's were the pro models, HD isn't "true" Hunter and they are lesser quality. Afterwards, I checked the price at SiteOne which is the place the commercial guys use and their 1" Hunter PGV are $25.36 and the 1" ball valve is $4.63. Oh, and the price for the valves doesn't include labor apparently which is $130/hr. They also said their valves are warrantied for 2 years like it's something special, but that's what Hunter warranties the things for. So for something that should have cost maybe $400 at most, cost $950, oh yeah and I had already dug up the manifold and had everything exposed, all they did was just swap out valve heads and glue on 1 fitting. I won't use Linn's again!!!

Called Mr. Lynn (his business address: 1215 Kris Keu Trail) on a Wednesday. He was very positive when I explained the problem. Said he has been in the business of irrigation for 30 years and importantly he could come look at the irrigation problem the next day as the issue needed immediate attention. After review of the issue Lynn said his fee was $85 dollars and hour plus material: 30 foot of three strand wire and 20-30 foot of 3/4 inch PVC pipe. He refused to give me a written quote. That should have been the first sign that this was not going to go well. I asked how long this would take and he said "I don' know, depends lots of things like how long it take to diagnose the problem." That was the second sign. I said "It can't take more then 8 hours can it so we are looking at $1000 at most". He said it could be $1000 $1200. That was the third sign. To me that means 8-12 hours of work. At this time he recognized that we were desperate to have this done as the house was on the market. On Friday Lynn showed up At 11:00 AM. He had said he would be there at 9AM. He and his 2 helpers worked till 12 noon then left. I asked why they were leaving. His answer " We always take an hour for lunch". They returned at 1PM and resumed work. At 2:30 he was through. They did test the system and did work. As of this date however it does not. He presented me with a bill of $1500. When I said this was way more then we agreed to he said " Thats what the bill is, your paying for my expertise". Expertise was not quoted in the original price discussion. I refused to pay for at most 2-3 hours of work and the conversation got heated. He realized that he was grossly over charging me and agreed to $1200. I protested again and he said " You pay or I will slap a lien on this house and it will NEVER sell. (We had the house o the market at the time.). All though his story could differ, I would advise not to deal with this man. If you do, MAKE him give you a quote in writing. Do not accept "That depends". He will take advantage of you.

OVERCHARGED AND MISLED ME. The clock/controller on my irrigation system had stopped. Linn said I needed a new one. Offered to install a Hunter X Core 800 (outdoor, 8 zones). Said the price was $289 plus labor for installation. Said that was the going rate. I checked online, and subsequently called Hunter. Hunter's suggested retail for that model is $195, and it's widely available for around $100. I told Linn about the $100 figure. He insisted that that was for a different model. The model he was installing, he said, was a commercial grade model. In fact the Hunter website calls it an "entry-level residential controller." I'm happy enough to have that model. However, Linn misinformed me about what he installed and charged an outrageously inflated price. I paid him, but I'll never call him again.

Our irrigation system was struck by lightning at the beginning of April and fried the computer and jammed/fried a solenoid in a zone and the zone could not be controlled. Called one company to come out and get system shut off and give quote for replacing the zapped computer and solenoid. Never came back, gave quote or returned phone calls. A family member gave our name to Linn's Irrigation and he called us the next day and came out when scheduled, prepared to replace anything that needed replacing. Replaced the computer, set the zones and times and checked each zone. We use 16 out of the optional 32 zones. Half of the cost was the controller at $350. Labor was $55/hr per man. Total of 2 hours. They worked quick for working with 16 zones. On April 23rd a family member drove over the replaced solenoid and busted it and Linn's Irrigation came on April 27 to replace it and the cracked T. The system was still under warranty, but this was our fault, so Linn's worked with us and we came to a fair agreement. We would reccomend to anyone looking for a reliable company to work on their irrigation system.
Description of Work: Replace a 32 zone Hunter computer for irrigation system and a solenoid and T pipe. Set the zones and timer. Check each zone.
