There was a small tree in the middle of were the slab was to go. He should have dug it up are removed all the organic material under the slab. Instead he just cut the tree off at the ground. He failed the first building inspection because he did not use the right spacers under the rebar and he did not have the right clearance from the edge of the forms to the rebar. He used brick he found in my yard instead of bringing in purchases materials. He said he knew the building inspector; however, when I talked to the inspector he said he didn't know Mr. Dunn and had not been contacted by him. He was to pump the concrete from the road to the slab because of the driveway slop. He didn?t do what we agreed on, instead he used a skid steer bucket machine and made many trips. This damaged my driveway. They did not pour the concrete correctly and left honeycomb throughout the slab. He should have used a vibrator to work the concrete down into the forms. Now I'm afraid that the slab will crack prematurely and be nothing but problems. One day after he finished they striped the form and took off. They didn't dress the site up after they were finished. They left trash and cigarette butts allover. After I agreed to let him do the work it was several weeks before he showed up to do the work; however, the day he finished his work he called me several times wanting to the paid. He called to the point that I felt like I was being harassed. When we talked about this issues he didn?t want to hear about it, he just wanted his money. He never tried to satisfy me or meet me half way. Every phase of the job was done poorly.
