Concrete Plus

Concrete Plus had just finished our driveway expansion project in the back yard (see separate 5 STAR review) and Dustin asked about a big broken concrete mess in the front of the driveway, which we share with the neighboring house. A monster water oak tree stood about 6 feet from the driveway edge, and during the course of 20 years had sent a feeder root under the concrete, busting it all up. It was painful to drive over every day, but for years our absentee neighbor had refused to go in on repairs. But now we have a new neighbor, a nice young fellow named Thomas, and he was more than happy to go in halves with us. That's all Dustin needed to hear, and this project was underway. Next morning Dusting showed up with the contract, Dylan and Johnny showed up with the tractor and a sledgehammer and dug out the large broken section. Johnny directed the operation and wielded the sledgehammer, Dylan lifted then concrete a small at a time for Johnny to break it up, and before you knew it we had bare dirt and tree roots in place of that awful concrete mess that had been there for years. Dylan smoothed it all out and compacted the dirt with his usual skill. Then we discussed the roots: this was a real concern, and Dustin took care to ensure that we understood the issue and worked with us to arrive at the solution. Should we cut the roots out, avoiding the risk of once again breaking the concrete after a few years while probably killing the tree? Or minimally trim the roots before covering them, or just cover them in concrete. After a lot of discussion we decided to remove only the smaller roots that would interfere with the work, but to leave the large feeder root so as not to kill the tree. But we needed a full 4" of concrete over the roots and stronger concrete than the original unreinforced installation. Johnny and Dylan built the forms with a small crown that guaranteed a full 4" everywhere, Dustin brought in steel wire and reinforcing panels, and they used fiber reinforced concrete. All these preparations were completed in the morning and then the SRM truck arrived. Dylan and Johnny poured and smoothed the concrete while Dustin burnt off some of his energy blowing more leaves off the property. By the end of the day this project was complete except for the cleanup. Everybody came back the next morning and hauled away the forms and other debris. Having a little time on their hands while Johnny did some of this work, Dustin and Dylan cleared vines and limbs from our trees off of the Metronet cables into the house. I couldn't reach them, and we had an appointment for Metronet to do the work, which we then cancelled. So this was another 5 STAR Concrete Plus project, and you can bet that if I see any concrete work needed on any property I own, Dustin, Dylan, and Johnny will be getting a call from me.

We just had an amazing experience pouring concrete for a driveway expansion. I got a personal referral to Concrete Plus from a good friend at the pickleball court. Next day, Dustin Ward (the proprietor) came to the house and gave us an estimate, which we felt was reasonable. Then he drove me back to the pickleball court to jump start my car (I had rushed onto the courts without removing the ignition key). Next morning Dustin came again with his crew, dug out the sod and built the forms. You have to see Dustin's son Dylan on the tractor to believe the deftness and skill at the controls - or maybe I'm just easily impressed. No, he really is that good. Dylan and crew worker Johnny (who I think is the real brains of the operation) then laid the sod on bare parts of our yard and scooped the extra dirt into a neighbor's back lot. Dustin is not one for standing idle, so while the others were digging out the driveway expansion he took his gas powered blower and cleared the leaves off a neglected 100' walkway beside the house. I figured work was done for the day at this point, but no, a couple of hours later an SRM concrete truck shows up. Dylan tractored the concrete to the back of the house and dumped it under Johnny's direction. Then they all pitched in and smoothed it out just right. Next morning Dylan and Johnny returned to cut the expansion joints. Boom! Within 48 hours of meeting the man, Dustin and crew had jump started my car, blown off all the leaves on a 100' walkway, sodded my back lot, delivered dirt to a grateful neighbor, and expanded my driveway. Took my breath away. It looks so nice we may just use it to practice pickleball instead of parking cars on it. Would we hire Concrete Plus again? Well yes, and we did it the next day. But that's another story.

We hired Concrete Plus to add on to our driveway. They were very easy to work with and offered a fair price compared to other concrete companies. They completed the job in two days once it was started. We are very happy with the final product! We definitely recommend this company!

I got 4 different quotes for replacing various damaged parts of the driveway and walkway. What convinced me about Dustin Ward and Concrete Plus was he explained to me how it would look after it was finished. With only doing some parts of the Drive/Walk way the sections would have been different colors and not matched, it would stand out and not look uniform. I never really thought about that aspect of it and no others explained it that way. Price was competitive with others especially since all would be replaced. Crew were on time and courteous, updated me regularly and cleaned up afterwads. Concrete Plus went above and beyond what I would have expected from any Contractor, from rerunning pool overflow pipe around driveway so it drains away from new driveway to adding additional pipe for future Internet cable install to prevent jetting new cable under the new pad. The attention to details like this (and others not mentioned) made me extremely happy I gave Dustin, Dillon and the rest of the crew my business. They will be my go to in the future.

We are so pleased with Concrete Plus and the concrete driveway that Dustin Ward, his son and crew did for us. They gave the lowest estimate of the 4-5 other companies we talked to and were prompt, kept us informed, and were very professional. Some unforeseen plumbing and other issues caused a delay but Dustin and crew worked both Saturday and Sunday to finish the job. Great attention to detail and cleaned up work area. We highly recommend!!

House was built with a small patio and we wanted to double the size. Originally had a "handyman" come in and extend out porch (but was definitely not an expert in concrete). Mr. Ward came out, inspected the "add-on" and said he could fix it properly. True to his word, my patio now looks GREAT! The team who came were professional and very friendly. Would HIGHLY recommend them! Also, to me, they went above and beyond and placed top soil around the perimeter of the patio.

Dustin and his crew did an excellent job on replacing our driveway. They were very professional and responsive to any questions and changes that we had. We had some drainage issues around the culvert and Dustin built a nice area to help the water flow to the ditch. We are very pleased with their finished work.

I was very impressed with the professionalism, care, and expertise of this company. Dustin Ward and every person I encountered working for Dustin put 100% effort into doing a good job. Each person was attentive to detail, respectful, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. Dustin really listened to what my ideas were and helped me to redesign an outline for the new driveway that I would be very happy with. Also, I have a 200 ft circular sidewalk in my backyard that was broken up in two different areas from my drain field getting replaced and he fixed that for me as well. He was great with any troubleshooting and always referred to me to make sure I was satisfied. Because of his and his team's great attitude, this was an enjoyable experience. Dustin from Concrete Plus replaced a huge part of our driveway, the entire walkway, and corrected a serious drainage problem we had. He and his crew got in here and got the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible (they were working between rain storms). The entire crew was very good to work with. Dustin quoted us a very fair price and delivered a very good product and we're very happy with the work. If the need comes up we will definitely use Concrete Plus again.

While house sitting for my neighbor, a tree was removed and a corner of the driveway was damaged. Since Dustin poured the original driveway, I called him to get a quick repair before the owner returned. I called him on a Wednesday and he had the damage repaired by Sunday. He came back later to remove the forms and everything looked great. I couldn't have been happier with his prompt professionalism and will have him do our driveway when the time comes.
