+ -1 moreThe City of Tallahassee installed a new "Smart Meter" (if that is what you call it) in November 2009 to measure our residential electrical usage . Immediately after installation out electrical usage shot up about 20% in KWH last November when outside temperatures were mild and we did not use much electrical power at all. I called customer service and got the "runaround". I explained we had energy efficient doors and windows installed recently and insulation blown into our attic and sinds then the electrical usage has been higher than ever since the new meter installation. I asked for an energy audit of our house, but the lady told us it would be a month before we could get one and we scheduled an energy audit anyway. We now will deduct 20% from our electrical bill and expect to end up in court.
