Hired Calvin to do our patio. It took him months to do the work. When he finally did it the quality was very poor, the finish has roller marks all over it, puddles of the finish in several places that have now yellowed, its looks totally unprofessional. Could have done a much better job just doing it on my own. We were told that the sealant would have shark bite put into it to prevent it from being too slippery, this did not happen. As a result the surface is slick as ice and dangerous. I contacted him about this and asked him to provide a solution and in typical fashion he did not respond. Do yourself a favor and either hire a true professional or do it yourself, complete waste of time and money, currently paying a real company to do the work correctly now; should have done that in the first place.

Of all the purchases involved with getting our first home, hiring Calvin is one of my biggest and most embarrassing mistakes. It's tough to tell whether he is a con artist or just really, really bad at his job (or maybe both). Regardless, I'm out a few grand of hard earned money, and am left with a front and back porch that, with having never done it before and having few handy skills, am pretty sure I could have done a better job myself. If you are unfortunate enough to seek out Calvins services, ask yourself if this seems like a guy that would take pride in the precision and detail needed for decorative concrete. Or save yourself the hassle.- heed other people's negative dealings and don't call him in the first place.

Terrible. Calvin began work on 9-12-18 and walked off the job on 10-15-18 declaring that he was finished. Later that day he sent me an email telling me that it was a terrible job and he would completely redo the work. After over 5 months of chasing him he now hides. Work was paid for, work was sloppy and looks awful. He left paint splatters all over the place, tape on the pool tile, plastic on the step rails and an incomplete paint job on the pool deck. I have filed a complaint with appropriate agencies and will follow up in court.

I am remodeling a 15? x 15? bathroom and am trying to add in only features that add a ?wow? factor, from custom cabinets, to marble countertops, to contemporary wall tiles, etc. However, the one feature that my wife and I struggled with was the floor. We looked at hundreds of tiles from over 6 different stores here in town and then took our search online. We did not find anything that we felt lived up to the quality or look that we were trying to achieve. As fate would have it, Calvin contacted me out of the blue through LinkedIn at the point when my wife and I were ready to just settle on a tile. I looked at the photos Calvin has posted online and felt like there were some real possibilities, so I had him come out to give us a quote. After talking over various options, I was very pleased to hear that he would not only be able to do what we wanted, but his quote was less expensive than the tile options we were looking at ? and he would be able to get started almost right away (which was a major consideration point for us as the cabinets and countertops were coming late the following week). Calvin then met my wife and me at the granite store to talk with our interior designer. We wanted to ensure that what he said he could do would fit in with what our overall design plans were. Let me tell you that was no easy meeting for him! Our interior designer is excellent and we love her because she takes on our projects like they are her own. So, she questioned Calvin to the point that I was expecting him to be taken into a small room with a small lamp hung over his head. Calvin took the instructions very well though and made our interior decorator, as well as us, feel like we were making the right decision, so we decided to move forward with using his services. The process of creating our masterpiece took several days and we were pleased that Calvin showed up each day (for those of you that deal with people in the construction industry, you understand why this statement is important!). We had some issues with the weather, which caused the job to fall a couple of days behind schedule. As I mentioned before, we were under a tight deadline with the completion of the floor as the cabinets and counters were already scheduled to be installed, so I was getting very nervous with the timing of everything. To calm my nerves, Calvin stayed one evening until 10:00 pm to get the job back on schedule. As a result, the job was finished on-time and my wife and I were very relieved and thankful! I am still working on the remaining features of our bathroom as I am writing this endorsement of Calvin, so I have not had the opportunity to show our floors off to all of our friends and family as of yet as we are waiting to show everyone during a grand unveiling. However, every trades-person that has come in to perform work has been wow-ed by how the floors look and all wanted Calvin?s name and number (you have to think that is a compliment when other folks in the construction industry are impressed by your work). Most importantly though, my wife and I love the floor. Having Calvin create a marbleized look was the perfect decision and was definitely the missing piece that we were looking for to complete the design of our spa-like bathroom . I think that everyone that deals with an unknown person or business in the construction industry is very hesitant because of all the horror stories that we hear. I was very impressed with Calvin as a worker, but also as a decent human being, and grew to trust him completely. What I liked most about Calvin though was how excited he was with the way our floor turned out. You might have thought that this was his bathroom!
