Affordable Tree Service By Mark Hicks

I chose this tree service based on the raving reviews on Google. Unfortunately, I wasn’t provided the same quality service. Mark was very pleasant to work with at the beginning, but the quality of the job was just not worth $4,000.00. I had one tree that felled on top my roof Mark was the first company I contacted. He came by and stated “for him to do this job he will have to charge $3,500.00 and insurance will take care of it”. I needed the tree remove fast because of water damage. I agreed to have it remove from the house. Moving forward tree was remove and stump grounding was not part of the $3,500 so he contracted a stump grinder for $500. Two days later Mark brought the proposal showing that he placed the tree at street side for pickup which he verbally stated that the city would pick up. I accepted the proposal. Unfortunately, insurance do not pay for stump grinding so my bad add $500 to my tab. The county did not pickup the tree because it was not in their contract to pickup a pile that high and a tree that big. I had to contract another company to come haul the tree for an additional $400.00 my bad add another $400 to my tab. During the removal process Mark requested for me to order a couple of pizza with a drink for the guys and we can subtract it from the bill. My bad it was not in the contract so add $41 to my tab. Total $941 out of pocket. I called Mark and told him that the city was not able to pick up the pile as he stated verbally and I had to pay an additional $400 and would he be willing to help with stump price and subtract the $400 I had to pay to haul the tree . Mark started yelling and said that’s it’s my problem he did exactly what he said he would do on the contract and he wants his $4,000, there was no effort on the company's end to accommodate or make things right on the customers end. Mark was very pleasant to work with, but the quality of the job was just not worth $550. I had one dead tree cut down and it was completely jagged at the stump, not leveled out, and over one foot of the stump was still exposed when I thought it was going to be grinded down. Deep tire marks from the trucks were left throughout my grass which I now need to repair. I understand it had recently rained and this probably couldn’t have been avoided at the time, but there was no effort on the company's end to accommodate or make things right on the customers end. -Lindsey Zander

Affordable tree service did an outstanding job trimming several trees in our yard last week. Their estimate was very fair, they arrived early (unheard of!), and cleaned-up thoroughly afterward. While they were there I asked them to do a number of additional limbs, which they did at reasonable additional cost. Very professional and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

He was prompt and the crew was professional. I am very satisfied with the work. They cleaned the debris from the yard and hauled it away. I would definitely hire this company again.

WOW!!! I called Affordable Tree Service an hour ago and my fallen tree is now GONE! Luckily, I caught Mr Hicks in the area and he came right over. He took care of the tree (craned it away and cut it up), cleaned and raked the area, and even did a temporary fix to the fence mangled by my now departed tree. Mr. Hicks and his crew did a great job!

It went great! I would hire them again. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants tree service but doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. This service was very professional.

Mark Hicks was excellent! I was extremely happy with his work. We realized a few days before a major storm that we had a giant tree that had died. Mark came out and did the estimate within a day of first contact and was able to come and do the work the next day! He was professional, expedient and very reasonably-priced. After the work was done, he and his crew left the work site perfectly clean. I would highly recommend this company!

Bit of miscommunication as to what we agreed upon but Mr. Hicks stayed true to his original word and our agreement and finished the job. Everything came out great and we'd use him again.
