Discreet Restoration

An excellent experience start to finish.... and that is hard to say when dealing with mold! Allen came out to perform the review and estimate for the remediation. He was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained all the issues involved and the proposed process to remediate. Both Josh and Allen were very helpful in adjusting the approach to remediation when the mold testing numbers came in a little worse than expected. The work crew arrived on time. They were friendly and professional. They cleared the area, cleaning any furniture that was in the area. Any fabric items they couldn't clean they bagged up for me. They then erected a plastic barrier to close off the impacted area. They set up negative air pressure so no mold would escape during clean up. They removed all affected drywall and wood as necessary. They then cleaned the area and treated with the anti-mold treatment. The crew worked hard, kept me informed along the entire process, and were very neat. The work area was spotless when they left! I HOPE I never need mold remediation again....but if I do I will use Discreet again! They did an excellent job.

Discreet Restoration is a very professional company and I would highly recommend them. Allen came out to look at the scope of the work involved. He was punctual and very thorough. He took his time and answered all my questions and was happy to thoroughly look at all areas I was concerned with. Josh promptly followed up with an estimate for the work and a detailed breakdown of the work involved. He also provided me with a copy of their current valid license and insurance. Documents which I hadn't asked for but was pleased to receive, it is a nice touch that I think more companies should do (especially Angie's listed companies). Discreet was also able to promptly begin the work fitting into a narrow time frame that I had to work with. I was very happy and appreciative of this. For those curious, the company lives up to its name, they are "discreet", arriving (always punctual) in non-marked vehicles and only wearing a plain shirt with a small "Discreet" logo as their uniform. The work was carried out professionally and efficiently and I was always kept informed of progress and promptly contacted when issues arose. When issues did arise that weren't known of at the beginning of the work and therefore not included in the original scope of the work they were always communicated and dealt with very quickly and professionally, which really helped with the continuation of the work without interruption. Part of the original plan for the work was to include cleaning of the air conditioning unit and ducts etc. It was determined during inspection for this work that the unit needed replacing. I was very happy with the way Josh communicated this to me and his advice and the way it was handled I felt was very professional. He was patient with me giving me time to get a second opinion and make decisions and the guys left the negative air scrubbers in place for longer than usual after the job was completed until the air conditioning was back up and running. In general, communication was excellent. I was always able to get in contact with Discreet and their response to my contact was always very quick if I couldn't get hold of someone immediately (or the communication was via email). When I had the house re-tested (at my cost) after the work was completed it passed first time!

Josh was amazing. He was responsive, caring, efficient, professional .... he went over and above what he was hired for, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs his services. He oversaw all the work because I was out of town most of the time, and found him to be completely reliable and trustworthy.

The only reason that the provider was not hired is that their price was a bit high for me at the time. This is a great company with well trained personnel in customer management and their field of service. Discreet Restoration will definitely get my referrals and future business.

The actual visible mold was really located in just one room and it wasn't a large area; unfortunately that room was next to our a/c handler and the mold spores got distributed throughout the house via the ducts. Josh was always willing to answer our questions, of which there were many; if they weren't business related calls he may have charged us with harassment! He would even consult with others in the field to get us the most accurate answer. His team was punctual, polite, and very thorough. They had to wipe down and disinfect every hard surface in the house, including emptying drawers and cabinets and disinfecting the items stored within. Soft surfaces (pillows, linens, etc.) were bagged to be washed by us. Part of the remediation consists of cleaning the A/C and ductwork. We mentioned to Josh that the A/C had a freon leak (at least according to the company we had been using). He had the A/C company he contracts with perform a leak test and just added the cost to the invoice. This was a consideration Josh didn't have to extend but one which certainly made it easier for us, instead of having to call yet another A/C company to get a second opinion. (Incidentally, no leak was found, and the cost of the test was considerably less than that performed by the first company. Boyden A/C is our new A/C contractor. We rate them "A".) The whole process took about 2 weeks, during which time we had to vacate the premises. Just because a company's employees are licensed and bonded doesn't necessarily mean you don't feel uneasy letting strangers have unrestricted, unsupervised access to your home; we never felt that with Josh and his employees at Discreet Restoration which is why we would not hesitate to use them again. No offense, Josh, but I hope we don't have need of your services again. However, if you need mold remediation, we recommend Discreet Restoration!

The work was done in a timely and competent way so that we were able to pass a follow-up inspection with no problem. Josh was professional and helpful and prices were quite competitive. We got a discount for work completel more quickly that planned. There was a lag time in receiving the final statement. My only criticism is that drawers and cabinets that were disassembled were not put back together and hardware for appliances was lost. I would use this company again but be clearer about how things like cabinets and drawers would be left.

Josh is extremely responsive and professional in his demeanor and work ethic. He spent a lot of time explaining the options and costs of various scenarios. He was patient and detailed in answering all our questions and helping us to determine what was the best way to cope with the issues at hand. His workers were neat, efficient and punctual. The cost was exactly what he had quoted. If we had additional need, we would certainly hire him again and definitely would recommend him to anyone who has a need for mold remdiation.

They did fantastic job. Josh Winton is an amazing guy. He is always there to answer any question we may have. The crew came on time did their job, worked hard, very friendly, and there was not stop or interruption from the beginning to the end.

I discovered mold on the bottom of my baseboard and soft areas in my drywall, so I called Discreet Restoration. Josh was very courteous, helpful, and professional. He inspected my wall and sent me a detailed report on what was wrong and what needed to be done. I was impressed with his attention to detail and the sophisticated equipment he used to diagnose the problem in order to come up with a viable solution. I consented for him to get the work done and they managed to fix my problem in less than 3 or 4 days. The price was very fair given the excellent quality of work that Josh and his crew have done. I was thoroughly impressed. I definitely recommend this company for mold remediation!

Josh showed up on time and did an intensive examination of my entire living quarters. I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with the effort and professionalism exhibited by this young man. He inspected every nook & cranny including the entire attic. He took extensive photographs, took notes and even recommended the name of a Professional Inspector to follow up. He discussed my options and made recommendations. He answered all my questions and I never felt pressured. The following week he sent copies of the photographs of suspected mold, etc. I highly recommend this man and his company.

The crew at Discreet Restoration was very informative, punctual and honesty. Did the job go exactly as I initially thought? No, it did not. However, Josh did explain prior to starting that he wouldn't be able to see everything until they started some demolition which turned out to be the case. Although the mold damage was more extensive than initially thought the team was very diligent in making sure I was informed of the status during each step of the operation. I felt very comfortable with the team, their work and the honesty they showed during the operation. I would definitely use them again and recommend to friend and family.

Excellent. Most responsive. Very professional in his first appraisal visit and then his follow through actions. Most trustworthy. We very much appreciate the careful attention to detail that Josh provided. I would absolutely recommend him for his top quality, superior service. We lived three hours from the work site and Josh completely oversaw every phase of the needed work. Excellent communicaton. He told us what to expect and delivered on every promise.

When Josh's crew came out to do the remediation work in the bedroom closet next to the problem bathroom, they noticed some stains in the vinyl flooring of the bedroom. We asked if they could check it further, since we had been suspicious about that flooring installation from 3 - 4 years ago anyway. They found mold in several areas of the vinyl flooring that had caused stains that were more obvious in the white areas of the checkerboard vinyl. We asked them to remove all of the flooring, treat the cement as long as they were doing the remediation in the closet area anyway. We were happy to pay for this additional work, so we could get all of the problems with that bedroom finally resolved. After the remediation, Josh contacted the contractor who had done the original repair last work to have them fix the leak and replace the damaged dry wall and baseboards. The contractor (Merit Construction) also honored their warranty and did not charge for the second repair. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Discreet Restoration has been to work with. The true test of a company is how they deal with warranty issues. In this case, even though this year's issue was due to faulty repair of another contractor, Josh did not charge for the remediation related to the work of the other company. He went above and beyond to make sure that the repair contractor did their work on time.

From my very first contact with Josh until the job was complete, this was without a doubt the best experience I have had with a contractor, EVER. My townhouse had a significant amount of mold and water damage. This was due to a leak in the common wall from a drain pipe and a leaky toilet in the adjacent townhouse unit. During my initial call with Josh, he explained his services in detail. From this conversation I could tell that Josh was a professional and took his business very seriously. When Josh made his visit to the townhouse, he further impressed me with his professionalism, knowledge of the issues, and the amount time he spent with me. Josh followed up with a detailed written estimate and a very reasonable price. Josh and his team did a fantastic job with the remediation. This included drywall removal, carpet removal, bathroom tear-out, kitchen tear-out, and more. Josh's crew was very polite, professional, and hardworking as well. During the process, the Discreet Restoration crew even found mold from the adjacent townhouse unit that their remediation company missed! I was overseeing this remediation from a distance since I'm not living in S. Florida, and Josh's communication with me, throughout the process, was unprecedented in my experience with a contractor. I truly cannot say enough about Josh and Discreet Restoration. Josh is a consummate professional and model business owner. He invests in the people and technology of his business. Josh doesn't cut corners, he creates them! It's obvious that he strives to do the very best job possible and deliver outstanding service, and he does it successfully. I highly recommend Josh and Discreet Restoration (in fact, I already have to family members). You will not be sorry.

From the moment I called, Josh was very helpful and quick to respond. Since this was for a medical office they came over the weekend and did a great job of keeping the area clean and contained. The crew that came out were outstanding. They worked hard and called me at every turn to explain what they had found. Josh gave me advice as to how to get the air quality inspections done and communicated with me about everything that was needed. I would recomment them to anyone needing this service. Excellent job!

Long overdue review. Josh the owner is totally hands on with his customers. This was a nightmare for us the flooding of our home and he made it as easy as possible. He would call me everyday at the end and give me a report on what they did that day. The threw out everything and saved what they could for us. Could not recommend this company more.

Josh Winton, owner of the company came to the house in Nov 2012. He was prompt and very professional. He explained everything in detail and took time to make sure we understood everything. We did not contact him until Feb 2013 to actually do the job. My mom is 86 and can not deal with these things very well so we had made a request if he can start the job on a Thur/Fri and finish on a Sunday so that my sister could be there with her? I live in Ky. so it was not possible for me to be there. We knew we would have to pay overtime for this, which was one of the reasons for the higher cost. He had no hesitation or issues with making this happen. I also asked him if he had a contractor (he only does mold remediation, not reconstruction) that he can work with to do all of the repair work and painting, so that everything could be done in the same basic time frame. He recommended Merit Reconstruction (John), which we decided to take his recommendation. The work started on time and progressed as planned, however things were not progressing with the contractor as planned. Josh's people were very professional and did everything they were supposed to do and did most of it timely. Josh did everything he could to ensure my mom was comfortable as possible, given the fact that her house was being torn up and she was very uncomfortable with strangers in her house. He went out of his way to make sure everything progressed as planned with as little as possible issues. He always was accessible through email and phone and responded quickly and thoroughly to all my inquiries and concerns. Although I gave his company all A's and I would use him again, I was disappointed in the communication between him and John at Merit, which caused a number of delays in the reconstruction work and some issues on who was responsible for what, but this did not take away anything from the work he and his crew accomplished. When everything was done we had an independent tester Mold Detective, come back out and retest for mold and it was virtually gone.

The owner, Josh, performed exactly as he had committed to do...the house was left in a neat and clean condition awaiting the contractor hired to rebuild.

How could anyone use anyone else. Josh is honest, professional, knowledgable, fair in pricing and just a great all around guy. He came to our house and spent hours with us trying to find a leak. We hosed the roof, the walls, the deck and took out some window trimming to do moisture readings. He gave us great advice, kept us calm and helped us eliminate areas where it could be coming from. Our home is new and our GC was even impressed. He wouldnt take any money even though he spent all this time with us! He really cared and just wanted us to fix our problem. He even called a few days later to see how it was going with our GC! Thank you Josh! You are the best!

They came in and cut out old drywall, used HEPA filter units to flush out air in house and cleaned off surface areas. Everything went well, I would use them again

We had several setbacks due to the scope of the job but Josh was undaunted and attacked the problems with gusto and saw the job to the end. Ask him to show you pictures so you can see what a great job he did from cleaning out the unusable furniture to attacking every mold spore. I believe I now have the most mold free home in all of South Florida! Even though I hope I NEVER have an experience like this again - if I did I would look to Josh to do the job.

After leaving a voicemail, in less than 2 hrs Josh was calling me back to set up an appointment. Since I work 9am to 5 pm, Josh was more than gracious to accommodate to my schedule and come to my house at 8am. It has been a long time since I have dealt with someone so professional, courteous and honest. He did a visual inspection and told me that he could not see mold damage, did an infrared camera scan, and advise me that at this point he would not recommend for me to break the wall since the water intrusion seems to be contained. I'm sure any other companies would have tried to take advantage of the situation, but he was very honest. Plus he did not charge me either for the visit. If in the future I encounter any similar problems I will definitely call Josh again.

It was a great experience from beginning to end. Josh was very professional and helped me with the necessary information and estimate paper work to get a claim going with my insurance company. The water damage and mold removal was professional, clean and fast. He even helped me get in contact with a general contractor that is currently taking care of fixing everything that was damaged due to the mold. I am extremely happy with the results and if I ever experience water damage or mold in the future, this will be my to go company.
