I did not like that Bob's seems to limit their selection to just LG brand TVs. They are good TVs but I wanted choice. I purchased my TVs at Best Buy and had another company do install and audio system. They also seemed to be quite proud that they are not the least expensive provider, so I never really got a price. Seemed like nice enough people to do business with.
Description of Work: I contacted Bob's and another company for purchase of two big screens and complete audio system.

They say they don't charge a delivery fee but they charged us $200. They told us when we bought that they stand by all the products they sell and that they would be there for us to take care of anything we might need. We believed them because we thouht they had a good reputation. That was in 2009. In 2012, when our Mitsubishi unit didn't function properly, they told us there is a defect in the unit and Mitsubishi wouold have to suppply the part. They were of little help in getting us in touch with Mitsubishi. When we finally reached someone at Mitsubishi, it was someone in the Phillpines that said Mitsubishi does not make that TV anymore and does not have the parts but that Mitsubishi offered to replace it at our expense for an $1800 TV (that we would pay) of some name we've never heard of. We have had Panasonic TVs for years and have never had any problems nor have we had any problem with the Panasonic we purchased from Bob's TV. We would have never bought the Mitsubishi TV but for the push by Bob's TV regarding that unit. Because of the indifference in how they have handled this situation, we now question whether or not Bob's TV knew long in advance that Mitsubishii would be discontinuing that product and we would have no service available and whether or not our unit was discounted to them to get rid of at the expense of the consumer/us.
Description of Work: We purchased two 50-inch TV's, one panasonic and one Mitsubishi with DVD units.

Our delivery and set up fees are included; the $200 charge was for the labor for wall mounting and running cables through the wall only. All charges were mentioned to (Member) before the delivery and were also included on the invoice. We did reach out to Mitsubishi on our end when we first heard of the defect from (Member), at which time they informed us that only the customer could call to remedy the situation. We then gave (Member) the Mitsubishi customer care number and explained what steps she needed to take when she called. I apologize if you were at all unhappy with our services and feel that we did not do all we could to make this a pleasant experience. We do wish this had gone better for you, but feel that we did everything in our power to take care of the issue. As you can see from all of our other reviews, we take great pride in our work and have a great track record with pleasing our customers.

I liked the way he handled the work. The problem was hard to diagnose and he never did solve it completely, but it went away and after I brought it home for a month, it has come back. I am probably going to take it back to him, but he didn't charge me anything. He could have charged me and I would have paid him, but he didn't. He couldn't find the problem, but that may not be fair. I probably might use his services next week.

The work was very satisfactory! They charged us for the repair, but the problem eventually came back, so on the second visit, they swapped out our TV. Instead of refunding that initial charge for service, they just swapped the TV. I would recommend them!
Description of Work: We had a problem with our flat screen TV, which they took care of. They are LG authorized.

They were wonderful! Their price was higher than others, but their service made up for it. We were very happy with them.
Description of Work: We bought a TV from them that they installed. After the installation, they realized something was wrong with the TV screen, so they drove back to their store, which was about 40 minutes away, to get a new TV.

Tv lamps are expensive and I believe the lamp was the same price as others of same brand... The year before the lamp had burned out when the tv was just two years old... Bought cheaper one then from an independent repairman but it was off brand and didn't last long... No problem with lamp from Bobs TV. As for burned out tv cost was $135 i think...steep for a 15-20 year old tv but worth it to have one size I needed for the space it fits. I chose to do it... They warned me it would be pricey... I believe they have been honest.
Description of Work: They have replaced a bulb in my big screen tv...and again when lightning caused my small tv to burn up. I was unable to find one that fit the space so they rebuilt this aging tv that is still used today (great job)!

The experience was okay overall. They were unable to find the part that needed to replaced and charged us $75 just to diagnose the problem. The technician did try to find a TV stand for us and followed up with us on that.

We could'nt have been more pleased with the response and knowledge of the people we dealt with at Bob's TV. They were professional, honest and willing to answer any and all questions. I look forward to dealing with them in the future.
Description of Work: We called Bob's TV when our 46" Sony Bravia decided to die. We loved the TV and we were hoping that it would be a simple fix. After trying to deal with the original seller, without any satisfaction, we called Bob's TV because we knew they had been around a long time and were reported to be honest and reliable. We had to pay extra for a service charge because we are quite a bit out of there territory. They came the same day we called and picked up the TV, (which was mounted on the wall) that was on Jan. 10th. On Jan. 12th I called to check on the TV and was told it would cost over $600.00 to fix and they were having trouble finding the parts being as our set was no longer in production. We asked about a replacement with comparable features and were quoted a price on a 47" LG. We were not pressured in anyway to buy a new TV and the repairs on the old TV were thoroughly described. We were encouraged to call with any questions and let them know our decision. We went with the new TV and it was delivered and installed the same day (all included in the original service charge). The installers did not leave until they were sure we were able to navigate the new TV and we were assured that they would be available for our calls and questions. After our experience with the original sellers we were discouraged and ready to write off service in America as a thing of the past. Bob's TV proved there is such a thing as service with a smile, prompt response and honesty in dealing with customers. I would highly recommend this company.

These folks were responsive, knowledgeible, and quite reasonable. Would highly recommend this business.
Description of Work: Our 15 year old TV stopped working and we looked to Angie's list for a recommendation. Bob's TV had good reviews and also our neighbor had used and rcommended them. I made the call and set up an appointment for the next afternoon. The tech, Mike, called about 11:00 and said he had finished his previous job early and was on his way and showed up in about 15 minutes. He came in and I showed him what the problem was and he immediately knew what the problem was. He said it was the "splitter", however he said to order one was cost prohibitive. He took the service panel off and when he checked the "splitter" it crumbled in his hand. He did say that if we wanted to order one he could get a generic one for $600.00 but he couldn't guarantee it due to the quality of the aftermarket product. He closed up the TV and charged us a $75.00 service call, however he would give us a credit if we bought a new TV,
