requested special color. priced for it. frames were not factory painted. the finish is peeling. waited several months for additional windows, prepaid. given the runaround for several months. lied to about the reasons. ask for the return of my money. took them a month to pay up. stay away.

Window Doctor prices were higher than those of other window companies, but I always thought the low bidders were not the way to go. The owner visited the house before the work began and made a survey of various leaks and water problems before they began. The existing windows were a special factory color. Window Doctor told me they could get the same color from another factory whose windows were better made than most. When the order was submitted to me I saw that the window manufacturer provider had been changed. The windows, when they were delivered were the correct color, but they had been painted locally. The paint was not dry and did not adhere to the frames. WD sent several people to my house to try to resolve the bad paint and in time we accepted the windows. We wrote WD and told them that the additional windows ordered would be rejected if they had the same problem. I was told there would be no problem. Several weeks later WD called and told me the windows were in. I went to the shop and was shown windows which were not sized according to the original order. The owner said that the company would not produce the windows in the size I ordered. I called the factory from the WD office and they told me that they could produce the windows as ordered. Several weeks and months went by. I called often was was told the windows were almost ready. That they were being painted and they were taking a long time because they wanted to be certain the order was right this time. Finally, after several weeks I demanded to see the windows. At their shop I was shown the same windows that I had rejected previously, nothing had been done in the weeks and months which had passed. Then WD told me that windows as I had originally ordered would cost an additional $6,500 which was almost the same amount as the original order. I asked for the return of my money and received it after threating to sue the company. WD did not perform the work in a timely fashion The owner told repeated lies about the status of my order, sometimes directly to my face when the evidence of his lies was in on the floor in front of me.
