+ -1 moreThey ripped off half our roof by mistake. They were supposed to do a different house in the neighborhood. They refuse to make it right. Dealing with them has been a nightmare. Please no one use this company.

While it was outside of what he is currently doing he gave me a very comprehensive evaluation and suggestion based on his years in the business of what I needed and gave me several names he even went so far as to give me the correct specifications for the job. + -1 moreThey didn't return phone calls timely. Contractor and office were not on the same page. We were told the work would be done on a specific day and the workers never showed up. Finally got in touch with someone and was told they weren't aware that they were to do the work at our house on that date. Had to reschedule. Work would have been performed with an error if my husband didn't keep checking on the progress. When pointed out it was fixed but these are the people who are the professionals. If this error wasn't caught the problem would have continued for which we were having the work done. We would not use this company again.

+ -1 moreThey were courteous and did high quality work. They were there exactly when they said they were going to be there and they called ahead to let me know they were coming. They don't answer the phone when you call them but they always return messages when you leave them. If I call them right now, it would go to voicemail but he will call me back the night.

I did not choose this contractor because another bidder came in with a better price but would recommend them based on my initial experience with them.

+ -1 moreWe were not there at the time the work was being done, however neighbors commented that they did a very good job. We did find some nails and pieces of concrete in the grass from time to time but am sure they could not get it all. Our only problem was that they did not have one skylight when the roof was installed. We were told it was ordered and should be in be in March 6th or 7th. When we didn't hear anything from them, we called several times to see if they had received the skylight. Some phone calls were not returned. We kept being put off as to when we should expect to have the work fininshed. Do not know how much was the fault of the manufacturer and how much the fault of the business but felt like we were getting the run around. Skylight was finally installed 6/4/12. Felt communication should have been better.
Description of Work: Gave an estimate on 1/27/12 with work to be completed in 30 days. Replaced concrete roof on house we were purchasing. Replaced on or about 2/12/12.

+ -1 moreThe owner came to give a quote. He expertly drew a map of area and roof that needed attention. He came within two days of my call. The repairmen arrived about a week later to do the repair work. My neighbor also enlisited them for the same repairs and were so pleased that The Stuart Roof Repair is at the top of our list for refers to friends and neighbors. We got several bids and these people were the most reasonable and the most trustworthy.
Description of Work: removed small area of roof tile and wood to repair a leak. Check all roof tile and re glued many that were loose

+ -1 moreStuart Roofing were very good. Their work is guaranteed for two years. They were very professional. They follow up with what they are supposed to do and I felt very comfortable with them. They are not a fly by night company, I think he said they had been in business for 30 years. I tried to negotiate the price, but it was nonnegotiable. I had called them once, because I thought they had forgotten about us, but they had had another issue in Stewart when there was a big rainstorm. I bought into that and they did finally come. The bill took 3 months to get here. I thought the bill was never going to come, but it finally did. The guarantee is worth an A as well. When they told me they would be here they were. They were worth the wait. I always like to negotiate, but that was nonnegotiable. They did do good quality work. The guarantee is signed and dated.
Description of Work: I used Stuart Roofing. They did the repair and then there was an 8 week period where it had to dry before they came back out and finished. We had a leak when we had those 20 inches of rain in October.

Description of Work: I called and emailed Stuart Roofing 2 times before I got a response on the 3rd call I actually spoke to a person/secretary. I told her I wanted a price to repair a metal roof on my MFG home in Stuart. She said she would have someone call me. I never received a call. I again called the following dy, and again spoke to the same girl, who recalled my earlier phone call of the day before. She again told me Mr Taylor would call me. After a couple of hours Mr Taylor did call, however I was not home and when I returned I call hed him back. After playing telephone tag for a bit, we did speak, and he said he would have someone come to my house the next day and he would call me with a price. I was home all the next day, and no one appeared. In the meantime I had contacted another roofer "ONSHORE ROOFING" via email, and within 24 hours I had a quote emailed back to me, a service man had come to my home, looked the job over and reported back to his office, who in turn gave me a price. I waited another day for Stuart Roofing to call or provide me with a quote, but again no show, nor any contact with me at all. I then contracted with ON SHORE ROOFING to repair the roof. They made a definate date, and I signed the contract. When On Shore's service people arrived, I had shown them the pecies that had fallen off the roof, which the service man said he would reintall the original parts as they were not damaged. He also said he had a peice of metal in his truck that would repair the damaged portion of the roof, all this was done in a matter of 2-3 hours, and he said he would report back to the office as the job didnt require the estimated patts or time needed. I then went to ON SHORE Office and renogiated the Contract to my satisfaction as well as the Owner of ON SHORE's satisfaction.. I would not reccommend STUART ROOFING as I feel they are not reliable and don't return calls on time etc. I do reccommend ON SHORE ROOFINF and their Owner Joe Kalinsofski as reputable and relable. + -1 moreThey were not the cheapest estimate, but they were the most local, and we liked them. Metal got delivered to the wrong place, so there was a slight delay, but overall, everything was done in a timely manner. They have a great crew, who work together well. We had them come back to re-do some of the finish work on the facia, as well as to do a second clean-up around the house. No problem until we tried to get the wind mitigation from the insurance company. That turned out to be a very big problem...no wind mitigation because Stuart Roofing couldn't provide the photos required by the insurance company. They did give me copies of the inspector's report, but I was told that all the necessary photos would be available to me and they were not.
Description of Work: We had a new metal roof installed, along with insulation and facia board. We love the roof, and I would even reccommend Stuart Roofing to someone getting a new roof...but I have three cautions that I wish someone had told me before I had them do the roof. 1. If you want to get any tax credit for your super new roof, be sure to get the power company to assess the roof BEFORE the work starts. We were not informed to take this step, and consequently, no tax credit. I wish Stuart Roofing had known, and told us that. 2. TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS if you're going to use your new roof to get wind mitigation credits. After being assured that photos were being taken for the insurance company (so that we could get wind mitigation credits on our home owner's insurance), it turned out that photos were NOT taken, and we consequently could get NO WIND MITIGATION credits. Ask to see the photos before you pay for your roof. I was told at least twice during the process that photos were being taken with throw-away cameras, so that the insurance company would have everything they needed to give us wind mitigation credits. Not so. I tried several times. I was told that it wouldn't have passed inspection if the nails weren't in the way they were supposed to be. News Flash! That explaination doesn't work with the insurance company! Take the photos yourself. Find out what you need, and make sure you have them. 3. I'm still finding nails and pieces of the old roof in the bushes and in the grass, and this is after I had them come back to clean up a second time.

+ -1 moreContracted Stuart roofing to replace roof. Workers from Texas subcontracted to do the work. Stuart Roofing never on site. Job was lousy. Roof leaked. Ceiling had to be repainted due to leaks. Stuart Roofing told us to use bleach to get rid of water stains. Totally unprofessional.
