Description of Work: With Irma bearing down Jim Snyder, owner of Sparks, came to our home to check on our generator as part of the maintenance contract. When the generator wouldn't start he tried everything and finally came up with a solution that wasn't in the book. He stayed with us until he was sure the generator would start. When we lost power from Irma, the generator started right up. Two days later we still had no power from FPL and the generator quit. Jim came right out, added oil and checked it all over. He found the fan belt badly frayed and worn. It was late in the day, but he went out to NAPA Auto Parts and found a fan belt of proper size, installed it and the generator started right up and is still running. It is now Saturday Sept 16 and we still don't have FPL power, but thankfully have a fully operational generator, thanks to Jim Snyder.

Description of Work: There were bad fuses and wiring that needed to be replaced on the electrial panel, Jim came immediately and accessed the problem. Stated he would have to order parts and as soon as the parts came in, he would call us and set a date to complete service, and he did.. He was very prompt and gave us a few options. He was more than fair with his price and was very professional, neat and had the job done in no time.. Description of Work: Remove old 200 amp service panel and install updated 200 amp panel. Install 30 amp receptacle under panel for emergency generator power. The 30 year old panel was an accident waiting to happen.

Description of Work: Jim (the owner) and his helper removed an old fan from a 14' peaked ceiling and installed one that I had purchased. They moved the furniture out of the way and cleaned the floor before putting the furniture back in place. They also replaced an EFCI receptacle in the kitchen. They removed an outdoor post lamp and installed a new one I had purchased in a more convenient area, 45 feet away. They sank the post into concrete and cleaned up the whole area where they had laid new cable. They also took the post and lamp away and disposed of it. They were courteous, responsive and a pleasure to employ.

Description of Work: Remove discontinued external spa timer, deteriorated pool light transformer, and power panel and wiring. Upgrade pool light transformer and power panel. Neatly secure new wiring.

Description of Work: Jim was extremely professional and responsive. He and his associate had to investigate and correct a poorly-done wiring installation for a prior kitchen renovation performed by another company/prior occupant. They were thorough and efficient. What started out as a simple generator hook-up job turned into a major investigation of the house circuitry, because the prior electricians added and deleted circuits that they did not label on the master panels. They then rewired the appropriate circuits. Despite all the extra work, the total charge was much less than the competitors' quotes. Jim takes pride in his work and it shows. I will be recommending him to my friends and neighbors. A+++++ service and pricing.

Description of Work: Was having problems w/ a circuit in the house. Dead outlets etc.

Description of Work: I had a faulty breaker, Jim found out where the problem was and had to dig a trench to put in a new wire. He was able to isolate the problem so we could have all the other electrical until he could dig the trench and replace the wire, that was very helpful. Very professional and honored the 10 percent off.

Description of Work: I used Sparks Electrical Contracting in the beginning of February and they did fix some wiring that was not right and installed a unit, so if we had any problems the light goes on.
