The sloppiest work I have ever seen! Paint runs; paint splatter on windows, floors; paint on new faucets & toilet bowls, bathtub, washing machine, folding chairs, electrical outlets & switches (used a putty knife to remove screws a scratched paint off outlet screws) & clothing in closets (two suits & one jacket). The contract stated patch & caulk where needed, but this was not done. Putty on door molding was not sanded, just painted over. Two large walls have major roller lines in them. Roller nap came apart on smooth plywood finish creating a rough finish. I got his name from a friend who used him to paint some rooms in his house and he was satisfied, but I that was not the case with me. The job took three weeks to complete and on the last day some spots were only given one coat of paint when it stated two coats in the contract. The damage to clothing and other personal items were discovered the day after the job was completed and paid for. I notified the owner that corrections needed to be made, but he failed to show up on two days that he scheduled. I then called the owner to let him know that I was going to hire someone else to make the corrections and that I would send him the bill. The owner stated, "This is a rip off" and hung up on me. I called him back and the owner asked if I was done yelling yet because I had told him I had been patient long enough and just wanted the inside of my house back. He then said that his guys had to put up with three weeks of "my sh**" telling them that they had missed a spot here or had drips over there. Pretty ironic because the job would have been completed sooner except one painter did not show up for the first whole week and both painters only worked a 5 hour day at most. Also, had they done what they were supposed to, I would not have had to been after them to correct their mistakes. I was willing to give the owner the benefit of the doubt because he had knee replacement surgery just before the job started, but he never showed up to see the mistakes that were done. Had he seen his guys work at my house then maybe he would understand my frustration that this job was not completed to my satisfaction and this rating.

I paid the provider a deposit of $1650 for interior painting on a house I was purchasing. Shortly before closing, the sale fell through and I immediately requested a refund of my deposit. Despite on three occasions (including in writing) acknowledging that he owed me at least some amount of money, and without telling me about or proving any costs incurred which might be taken out of the refund, the contractor failed to return ANY of my deposit. A period of time of over one month has elapsed. On one occasion he went so far as to tell me that he will "drop a check in the mail". He did not do so. He has been non-communicative and disreputable in his dealings with me and I recommend that would-be clients stay clear of this fellow. UPDATE: 6 weeks after first requested, contractor provided full refund to complainant. In the interim, complaints were filed with BBB, Angie's List and county licensing agency. I report. You decide.
Description of Work: provider took my deposit for interior painting and then failed to return any or all after the home purchase fell through.
