Face of Wood Flooring

Marcus and his crew sanded off the existing finish - some of which was really deep and painted. They made the floors like new and then finished them to spec. Where there were parquet ribs that didn't look right, they pulled from inconspicuous areas (ie closets) and made those spots like new. These guys know their profession.

Everything every other Angie's member says is true. Luciano and his team (Caique was his lead on this project) have been professional and attentive throughout. I had 5 rooms with carpeting that needed to be ripped out and replaced. Face of Wood (FoW) came by for the estimate and suggested as a cost-saving measure they could pull and replace the existing baseboard. We decided to float engineered hardwood (Urban Floors Cleveland Oak purchased from JC Floors in Pompano). I used a different underlayment (green) from JC Floors than FoW had used before; they dropped by the store to confirm it would work with their process, and it did. The only problem we encountered was at the initial removal/delivery; the team (who was unfamiliar with the different underlayment we had requested) brought rolls of their usual blue-foil-backed underlayment. I spoke with the team and it was quickly corrected. Mistakes in communication happen, and our request had been out of the norm. During removal, it was revealed that our original baseboard had been damaged by the original carpet installers; they wanted my opinion to either re-use it (and get it patched, repainted), or I could purchase new baseboard to be installed. I agreed that the original 20-year-old baseboard was of too damaged to be used (you could see where the carpet installers had utility-knifed it and how old and brittle it had become), so we went with new baseboard; I was charged for the new material, which is to be expected. Before laydown, the rooms were not flat, so the slab required patching and repair. This added another day to the job, but overall the job was done in 3 days and it was beautiful. I took the tape off the T-molding / thresholds after a few days, and while most of them were flat on both sides, 3 (out of 9) had laid down with some gaps. This can happen and can be easily fixed. I called FoW, and two of their men came out, re-evaluated all of the thresholds, and fixed them. They are now flat. Overall, the quality of service I received from FoW is excellent, and if I was installing more wood flooring, I'd have them back in a minute. Fantastic. Do note that they do not supply the wood flooring, but will work with you to acquire some from a dealer. The $4115 price included carpet removal, new baseboard, labor for prep/seal of slab. labor for installing flooring, cleanup, purchase of underlayment, and delivery, and an Angie's discount.

Face of Wood was able to come over and give us a quote fairly quickly. We had a bit of a rush job since we wanted to get the laminate down before we moved in. Initially they were completely booked up, but they were able to find time in their schedule to give us a better date. All in all, they ended up providing us with next day service to get our floors installed. They brought over three guys and completed the two rooms within about 4 hours, this included the disposal of the rugs and the adding of new baseboards. Everything was cleaned up on the inside and the outside of the house with no trouble. They were very easy to work with overall. I would definitely recommend.

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Luciano came quickly the next day, and even called when he might be a few minutes late. He was a gentleman and answered all of our questions. He even called in his partner who does the installing Davino who had terrific suggestions and thoughts. The wood flooring was unusual so he took 2 pieces to their shop to test how best to install this unusual hardwood(Brazilian Walnut). He also said he would prepare an estimate immediately. He supplied the estimate in a few hours, and also their findings on installation. It turned out glue and stapling was our best method. They came promptly on the morning of the date we agreed on. They came with a crew of workers including Davino who spent whatever time he needed to set the lines up perfectly. He took his time to be perfect. He built a unit from a number of pieces glued together as a form to help in alignment. The setting up of the lines is the most important part of a herringbone hardwood installation. Once done they were non stop for the entire time and all business. Each worker was as good as the next in cutting, fitting and all aspects. They used their equipment to plane areas where the plywood joined, to make sure the flooring would lay flat. They were cheerful and enjoyed their work. Davino fabricated sections and came up with ideas to solve some of our difficult transitions. These were raised areas like steps caused by our raising the floor several inches, due to the sinking of our 80 year old home. It didn't phase him and we were amazed at what an artist he was. Once they were done, next came Marcus and his finishing crew to sand, and put several coats of refinish on the floor. Marcus actually came while the installation crew was still working to meet us, and look over what had to be done. He explained in detail to us what would happen. They came promptly on the day we agreed on and this crew also set to work immediately and continued until they were done. The used sanding machines and and work masks. They protected our house at our request, but while we were concerned for the dust...There was none! Marcus finished and I think he enjoyed the new floor as much as we did. They moved the furniture, refrigerator and stove back in place the next day. They explained how to care for it and many details we never thought of. I cannot say enough for this delightful experience and to say they were good would be an understatement. Use them.

Luciano and team were very professional. I received the best estimate from Face of Wood for installation of engineered hardwood flooring (floated) and the quality of the work commensurated with the price. I ordered all the materials for the job from another company. I ordered 1/4 round borders in which the color matched the wood floor. Unfortunately, I did order enough of the material. Luciano advised that I should have ordered 1/4 round that matches the base boards which looks more aesthetically pleasing. He provided white 1/4 round borders at a decent price. I'm glad I took his advice. In addition to the great pricing, the installers affixed felt stickers, used to prevent scratches, at the bottom of the furniture legs. I did not expect this additional service. I definitely recommend this company for installation of hardwood floors.

In preparation to rent a house we needed to replace worn carpet in two bedrooms. I arranged everything online (we live in another city). Arrangements were easy and they had us scheduled for the following week. My husband went down to Miami for a couple days while they did the job. They worked fast and neatly. Floors look great, would hire again!

The salesman came prepared with a truck full of samples. Way nicer then having to go to some store. I was able to compare samples with my decor and furniture to make sure it was what I wanted. He was educational and really helped me make a qualified decision. The install crew worked so hard. They took great pride in every piece of wood they installed. This is the best experience I have ever had with home remodeling. They went above and beyond in their efforts. They maintained a clean work environment, did amazing work, and were just excellent in every aspect. This is a company you can actually enjoy spending money with. I received better quality flooring the. All the others offered and at a price almost $1000 less the every other quote. They kept in constant contact with me and made the whole process a pleasure. I cannot say enough good things about them. A plus service! So rare nowadays. Bravo to them.

I can't say enough good things about Face of Wood! I was impressed every step of the way. After just having a bad experience with a floor installation I was very cautious. I had shopped at several locations but still hadn't found a company that I wanted to do business with. Luciano was quick to call me back and set up an appointment a few days later. From there everything was easy. His sales representative was knowledgable and I selected my floor and baseboards without leaving my home! After placing my order, I received a call from Luciano thanking me for having the confidence in his company to do the work in my home! The wood was ordered and arrived as planned. I called this company in order to obtain an estimate on Engineered Hardwood flooring for a new property. They were very punctual, patient and professional. They brought all of the samples to me so that I could see them in my home. The owner took extra time to explain different options and also provided a detailed estimate via email within hours of leaving the appointment. I am still in the process of deciding on the flooring that I want to put down in my new home, but I would definitely recommend this company based my first experience.

I wanted to install new floors as a surprise while my husband was oot for business and before his parents came to visit for the holidays. I left a message at their office and Luciano got back to me within a very short time. He came to my home the same day to measure and provide a written estimate. His demeanor was very respectful and professional helping me to make the right choice. He brought a truckload of wood samples and helped me carry them in and out of the room and moved them around so that I could view in different lighting. His workers delivered the wood at my convenioence. They were prompt on the scheduled day of installation and completed the job on time. They kept all of their debris in one protected spot outside and cleaned up the new floor when they were done. We had just one small problem with a door and Luciano came right out and fixed it. He even called back several days later to be sure that there were no further issues and that we were satisfied. We were!

Arrived on time for first appointment. Explained my options, gave advice when asked. We made a deal and an appointment for installation. The workers arrived at the appointed time and went right to work. Very professional, no drama and no wasted time. The job was finished in one day, as promised, and I was extremely pleased. I would definitely use their service again, without hesitation. I highly recommend Face of Wood.

Excellent, exceeded expectations

Incredible to work with and incredible quality of work. The craftsmanship was amazing and truly a great value for the price paid. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Everything was wonderful. They were very professional, very nice. The floors look beautiful. After they put the coating on the floor, it wasn't as shiny as I wanted it to be so they came back the next day and applied a third coat to make it what I wanted.

We needed to replace 1,340 sq ft carpeted area (bedrooms upstairs, 17 flights of stairs and office downstairs). We found Face of Wood on Angie's list and like the review. We called them on Friday and Luciano called us back on Saturday, and arranged for a Monday morning visit. He came with another team-mate, and they were extremely professional and clear on my options and provided extremely valuable inputs as to what options we had for the stairs, types of baseboards, direction of the laminate installation, colors and textures, etc. A true "class" in flooring. He immediately measured the area to be installed with a laser device, and gave me a quote instantly through his IPad. It was amazing. His price was fair (I had obtained 2 other quotes before, one from Dolphin Carpet & Tile). I accepted the quote, and he told me that the laminate was going to be delivered in Tuesday, and that his crew would start on Thursday and be done by Saturday. And low and behold, everything happened as promised. Divino and his crew came on Thursday. They were extremely polite, quiet, careful and clean and did a work of magic in the house. They were done by Saturday and the work product was wonderful - the floors looks better than we expected and the experience was simply superb. If I were a flooring company in South Florida I would be really concerned now - the level of professionalism and service (not to mention all the certifications they got) who that Face of Wood is dead serious on becoming a market leader. And they deserve it!

They were really nice people, but the scheduling department is really screwy. The first appointment went fine. Then when it came time to have them come out and do the work there were problems. They spent the whole time that they were here trying to get us to do the whole floor when we just wanted a section of it done. Then they wanted to do all of the floors in the house. They were supposed to get back with me on an estimate. I am not jumping with joy. I may use them again eventually. I think that the estimate and their pricing is very fair. I was very frustrated with them and I had to bring in Angie's List. Their punctuality was bad.

The Face of Wood Flooring and Luciano Soares did a magnificent job. They removed the carpeting from two large bedrooms and attached walk-in closets and installed hard wood flooring. All was expertly done. I couldn't believe that they completed the job in one day! They brought the samples to the house and I selected from these. Nothing could be easier. The finished result was beautiful and they provided recommendations to care for the floors.

We bought a house built in 1946. We had tile and linoleum floors removed by our general contractor, and discovered beautiful original Florida pine, with a just a bit of damage that our contractor repaired, but the floor needed refinishing. We say a "deal" ad on Angie's eblast, which offered 100 sq. ft. of refinishing for $99, we bought it and refinish one of the bedrooms. The appointment was confused and we had to re-set it. The young fellow that came did a good job and was on time. We were satisfied and requested an estimate for the living room. We had to negotiate a bit, but found the price fair. We scheduled the appointment, and two young fellows should up on time. There was a scratch on the wood and my husband asked them if they would be sure to work on it, as he noticed it was not done on the first round, they said that was not part of the job, but after a bit of discussion went over it on the second round. Floor looks good, not great, just O.K. Positives: They are very prompt. Job is good, prices are fair. Cautions: Make sure you negotiate the price, and confirm. Make sure you also confirm appointments. They will not do an inch more than what's on the contract, they will not go the extra mile for their work. Job is good but not great.

Luciano and his crew did a great job of installing floors into my three bedrooms. They were prompt, efficient,courteous and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get floors installed in their home
