STAY AWAY...i don't write many reviews, this company is worthy of this review. They will not listen to your concerns, ideas, or budget. They charge $200 for a '3D rendering of your project' that's of their own thought in order to inflate your proposal...many others, including the great service we opted to go with, do this CAD layout for FREE, with unlimited added revisions. One of the owners, Peter, walked onto our property like the Rembrandt of landscaping (that's what it felt like), not so much as asking a single question, saying hello, and began to point, walk, name, what he wanted to do...I had to stop and tell him, we have some ideas, and a budget...which all were met with sneers (I worked in landscaping for 12 years, but knew this project was out of my ability). when I also commented that his ideas were well out of bounds of the budget I had in mind, it was met with subtle laughter from Peter. He then talked over me and my wife when we tried to walk through our ideas, left, and i guess to add comical ending when our '3D paid rendering' was sent, Peter addressed it to a name that is so far from my own (when my own name is WITHIN my email address)...kinda proves how little this guy listens or cares. No follow up, no questions from the company ever...I never responded, they cashed the check, and that was that. The quote came in exactly what I told him we were not willing to spend and got laughed at by Peter. There are MANY other options out there, D in mind, quality work in mind not go with the first you pull up, this was a $200 big mistake with Floridigenous, we've now had our entire front/back completed elsewhere than this company, at 1/2 of their bloated budget with zero problems to date, quality work, and have hired other company to continue with additional projects since. Do yourself a favor...keep searching.

Very professional and prompt service. They did a nice job adding an irrigation system in my front yard. The ground cover they planted looks terrific, HOWEVER... the plants started sprouting weeds right away. Now I have be out there pulling weeds every day. I think the yard would be overrun with them if I didn't. I notified Peter a couple of times. I'm hoping as the ground cover thickens the number of weeds will go down.

Great they have worked for me before and were great

Did not go well. Plants and lawn were installed almost 6 months ago. Just found out yesterday that none of the drip hoses were ever opened for the larger palms in the entire back yard area . Prep work before lawn installed not done properly. Sprinkler install work does not adequately cover lawn area. They came back out and installed an additional line covering an existing area twice instead of correcting problem of lack of coverage in the area that needed it. I have to now rip our sod adjust sprinkler and re-sod. First time ever writing any sort of review. Felt ripped off.

We found Floridigenous Landscape here on Angie's List. Peter Klinkenberg was very professional. The design was agreed to and the work was completed within a month. The company that Peter hired for the paver work did an outstanding job. We had a couple of small misunderstandings about what was included that cost us some additional money, so just know that the contract must include everything that you discuss.

Floridigenous Landscaping did an amazing job transforming our front yard! Peter Klinkenberg was great to work with and he really listened to what my husband and I wanted. It seemed like he read our minds in the design he prepared. His entire team was great! We couldn't be happier with our new yard - our neighbors are excited too! With the beautiful lighting, we can even enjoy our yard when the sun goes down! Thank you Floridigenous Landscaping!

It went very well. Peter came to my house within a week after we talked on the phone, end of November. He walked around and measured the size of my lawn. I gave him some idea what we would like it to be. We wanted to do both front/back and side of the house. About 2 wk, we received the drawing, we love it but it ll cost around 9k for the whole project which we could not afford. We decide to skip some of those plan ( side of the house and focus on the front and back). Price came down to 5-6k I paid the down payment around mid Dec. Peter told us that it'll be after new year. First week in Jan, his team came and finish the project with in 1 wk. At the end, Peter came back and we went over "how to" maintain these beautiful lawn.

They were prompt, and professional. They worked to design a package that fit our budget- suggesting ways to save money but keep most of the effect. They showed up when promised, and over delivered. There crew was respectful of the property and worked top keep deadlines. I would recommend them without reservation- great value, and work product. Our house looks great.

NO ONE TOOK TIME TO RETURN OUR CALLS.

We paid $3000 for a total of 11 landscape lights, most of them have condensation/water in them and one is still out, that said the $80 set of 10 we purchased from Home Depot in the backyard have not had any issues in 3 years! I have attached a photo of one of the lights, when it was installed you could actually see the light, now each one looks like this, full of condensation and foggy and they were $224 each. The owner was nice, but the installation itself was terrible and service after the fact for a $5,000 job remains the same, poor to non-existant.

They were pretty good. They ended up coming back because we weren't satisfied the first time. We spoke with the owner because the workers did not do what we had expected them to do so the owner came back over to fix it. I had a good experience with them.

They were overpriced compared to what I ended up with. It was almost double what I paid to get the yard put in. They were very professional. I thought the price was high.

This was my first experience with this kind work so I was apprehensive. But, Peter Klinkenberg, owner, responded quickly to initial contact through Angie's List. He was friendly and informative. His followup with proposed landscape plan was timely. Due other extenuating circumstances, i.e. having large oak tree removed and fence installed, getting started on landscape installation took quite some time. But Peter was ready when the property was ready. From the time I notified Peter I was ready to the start was timely. Irrigation system was installed in a couple of days - a quality system at that. Then one day I went to work and all I had was a new fence and an irrigation system. When I came home from work - surprise! I had a complete new landscape. Pleasantly surprised and very satisfied. The finishing mulching was the next day and Peter called to arrange final walk thru. Thank you. I was happy, my neighbors were happy - in fact one lady walking her dog admired his work and asked for his card. There is more I want to do and I will call Peter.

They were professional, but quality control was lacking. The Bahia grass they installed (type of grass my request) was laid very unevenly and was difficult to walk on. They also left an area needing rocks without them, they must not have checked out the sprinkler system before leaving because one head was submerged under rocks, and they covered up my water meter with rocks. They came back out at my request a month later to set things straight. They tried wetting and tamping down the sod, but the lawn is still very uneven. They fixed the submerged sprinkler head and filled in rocks in the missing area, but didn't bring edging as used in the rest of the yard to go around the water meter, saying they would come back, which they never did. I've put down 16 bags of topsoil to try and even out the lumpy sod front yard, but it's still very uneven. They appear unconcerned about my disappointment. I spent right at $8000 and didn't get something I'm happy with. I won't use them again.

Excellent. Peter was very detail oriented and made several changes to the design plan after hearing my thoughts. Work was completed very quickly given the large scope of the job and the finished product looks fantastic.

We got three bids and went with Peter off the bat because instead of starting the conversation with the cost of design, we just talked about what we wanted and felt comfortable that we could work together and were confident in his ability to come up with a plan based on our priorities. The other two bids wanted between $300 and $500 to talk details. The work was done quickly- in two days total. After the work was done and the job was paid for, we changed our mind about one detail and wanted to place a large rock where they put a focus plant (orange bird of paradise) and they came back out to place it and moved the bird free of charge to a location out front. Peter was responsive to all of our calls and emails. Our backyard was transformed from a grassy/dirty/sandy mess to a beautiful space that we enjoy to ourselves and for entertaining.

I paid Floridigenous Landscape $1,865 to resod my front yard, which is shaded by oak trees. Peter, the president, told me that the shade would be a problem, but that they would install a shade-tolerant grass. They installed palmetto St. Augustine grass, which is now dying. I have since learned that bitterblue, another St. Augustine grass, is actually more shade-tolerant than palmetto, which is not recommended for dense shade (edis.ifas.ufl.edu/lh010). In addition to installing the wrong type of grass, the company did a sloppy installation job, inserting slivers of sod along the edges, where they would have no chance of survival. They never rolled it, which is standard practice after sod installation. Peter never came back after the job completion to check on it or see if we were satisfied. I called him and left a message, but he never returned my call. I would not recommend this company due to their incompetence regarding lawns, and their lack of responsiveness and interest in customer satisfaction.

It went fantastic. I can't say enough great things about Peter and his company. Completely painless beginning to end. Everything was performed exactly on time, exactly as promised and everything was cleaned so well afterwards that it looked like no one had ever been there. Peter even swept our street himself the next day when he saw some stray rocks. We love our new backyard and I will use them again for sure and recommend them to anyone who asks.

We will be using his company for plant and irrigation installation in the near future.

I tried to use multiple different landscapers to get done what I wanted to get done over the past year. Most of them wouldn't return my calls, show up to meetings or even listing to what I wanted. Some told me it couldn't be done. Then I got on Angieslist and found Floridigenous Landscape Inc I can't think of a single thing that was done wrong. They did what I considered to be a weeks worth of tasks in two days. The crew that worked on my house was professional, quick and down right nice people. From beginning to end the experience was spot on. From the initial consultation to the execution of the plan. I plan on using them for ALL my future landscaping and I would recommend them to anyone.

Peter gave me exactly what I asked for in a beautiful design. I asked for a dog friendly environment where they can run and play without danger of poking out an eye or stuck by thorns. I asked for a fragrant area - trellised Jasmine is just wonderful. I asked for a colorful yard without flowers. He exceeded my expectations. He also corrected my sprinkler system appropriately.

It took a number of attempts to contact the provider but once I did he came over to view the property and interview me for personal preferences. I didn't hear from him for a number of months and once I did finally contact him, he emailed me plans that didn't reflect my desires at all. I chalked it up to experience. Next time I will contact the provider of "deals" immediately after purchasing before they are overwhelmed with the workload precipitated by offering deals on Angie's List

Peter, the owner, came out about 6 months ago as we were requesting services and he told us that if we were having our pool remodeled to hold off on any landscaping. 1 month prior to the end of our pool remodel I met with him for a estimate and paid $300 for "landscaped drawings". I made it clear that we needed the drawings in 2-3 weeks as the pool contractor would be putting down the pool pavers and any wiring, drainage, sprinkler piping would need to be determined prior to the pavers being placed. 2 weeks after I met with him for an hour to discuss the job he had not sent us anything. I sent an email with no reply. Another week passed and I sent another email. On Sunday night (the pavers were going in Monday 7am) he sent us a drawing that probably took 10 minutes to draw. It had no drainage, landscaping lights, irrigation marked. No plants or beds in locations we requested. Monday the pool contractor is calling me at work (I'm a physician and have no time to discuss this stuff during the day) and we are trying to figure things out on the phone. I never hear another word from Peter or received a real landscape drawing, much less an estimate. He essentially stole my $300. I hired Landscape Fusion the following week, they provided real landscape drawings and were available within days of our meeting and we are about to start 2 weeks after contacting them. They felt the location of the drains, and lack of wiring/irrigation under the deck was going to be a problem as we would have to rip it up to add it. So not only did he take my money, he is going to cost me much more in labor for someone else to fix.

We were delighted with the new look of our front yard. Peter was great to work with as we did several revisions of his original design. Despite the name of the firm, he does not use native plants only, but he is very knowledgeable about the growing requirements for a wide range of landscape materials. He and his team are professional, courteous, and willing to go the extra mile, even tracking down and fixing several problems that emerged with our older irrigation system. We would highly recommend Floridigenous.

The $99 big deal price was just for the design and we had to pay to actually have the work done. It was a $99 design and then when you had the work done, they deducted that money. I pointed out to them to deduct the $99 from what I paid for the landscaping. I wasn't happy with the way they cleaned out the beds, everything started coming back. I did talk to them about it a couple of times. For the price, I was told that that was a lot. The guy who cuts my lawn said I paid way too much. They did a great job on quality.
