Second Nature Landscaping

This the second time I used Second Nature and he once again did a great job laying the sod and fixing the sprinklers for my new flower bed. Fantastic work!

I wanted to demolish some old steps that had been built over repeatedly. This is a hard service to find. James was ready, willing and able to do the job. He got it done in about 4 hours with a helper. It involved a bobcat and jack hammer--very hard work. Hauled it away and cleaned up. He is great. I was wary of having this job done because of the potential for creating another big problem with exterior walls as stairs were flush to house on one side. Small damage seems manageable. Will replace with preformed concrete steps from another company. We will use James again without reservations. He is not risk averse and will tackle the difficult jobs.

Mr Knoebel has done a great job of fixing my old sprinkler system and laying sod. Having no experience in these areas, I am very pleased with the step by step instruction an help. I highly recommend him!

I'm extremely happy with the quality of the sprinkler system repairs and the professionalism. So much so I intend to hire him again to lay sod in a couple of weeks.

I decided to give the whole project more thought and delay it for the time being.

Everything went better than expected. Jim is extremely capable and had great ideas.

We had a severe drainage problem, and James studied my yard during the recent rains. He then presented a thorough plan to address the issue which we accepted. He and his crew were both diligent and courteous. The yard was always cleaned of equipment before leaving each day. I highly recommend SECOND NATURE.

Work was not done at this time. The main reason for this was the projects I was considering were either way too expensive or out of his range of license. Though work was not done at this time, I wanted to write James a review because after meeting with him I would very much consider him & his company for any future jobs that come up that the job is not so expensive the end cost is far too expensive for what I'm trying to accomplish. I appreciate him taking the time to come over & meet with me & offer several suggestions of other routes I could go. I also appreciate his honest opinions of what could & couldn't be done & which projects were best not to spend so much money on-best spent in other areas.

They started work right as the rainiest summer we've had in years began. They did the best they could do considering the circumstances. I would recommend them.

Excellent work. I cannot say enough good things about Jim and his crew. We got three other estimates and from the first time that Jim came out to see us, I was impressed with his professionalism, his desire to solve our problem, and to get it right. He was not only professional, he was friendly yet respectful, patient and very helpful. He explained the job to be done to me; and then to my husband. I lost track of how many times he came and communicated over the phone as we sent pictures and later videos taken on rainy afternoons. He always answered our calls, emails and imessages promptly, even on weekends. He was very much interested in getting the facts regarding the problem. He was flexible as new facts came in, sent us an estimate in writing; and as some things changed he adjusted and sent us a revised estimate. During the installation he was here every morning before 7 AM instructing his crew and later talking to us about what was being done and about the progress. I also observed that he was respectful to his workers and appreciative; but also firm about what needed to be done. After the job was complete and paid for, we were all anxious to test the drain and were waiting for the Florida afternoon downpour. Jim took the time to call me one morning to let me know that there would be rain that afternoon and to get my camera ready. He wanted to know how things were functioning. I took video during the downpour and discovered a couple of minor issues and Jim returned personally to make the adjustments. I could not be happier with the job. I would like to do some landscaping in the future and I will not have to look any further. Thank You!

We were very satisfied with their service. They even came out once to show me how to adjust the sprinkler head and did not charge me.

As stated above, I called Second Nature Landscaping for an estimate and the owner Jim came out as promised to discuss the work needed; he followed up his visit with an itemized proposal of the job. His prices seemed fair and I would have hired him if personal matters had not prevented it.

Not well. I only heard back from this guy After my review was posted. Only then did he call my home several times. i left him a voice mail explaining my review. He left me a message saying that sometimes messages and voice mails are lost and he can't control that. I left him three voice mails. All were lost? He needs a better way of communicating if his voice mail or answering service isn't working for him.

We could not be happier with the results! As I said when I wrote the review for the work Jim and his crew did in our front yard, we hired him to landscape our back yard. The yard was a complete mess; some palms and split leafs were growing out of control, and had a unpleasant-looking mixture of bahia, weeds and sand forming the "body" of the yard. Jim trimmed the plants worth keeping, and completely stripped the back yard of everything else, laying irrigation lines for sprinklers as they went. He and his crew then created three paths and a large seating pad, installing beautiful pavers (when our first color choice turned out to no longer be available, Jim made a suggestion for a replacement; as it turns out, they are probably more attractive than our initial selection). Once the pavers were installed, he arranged for a company to come dig a well (so we can irrigate the yard without using costly city water). After the well was installed, Jim then connected the irrigation lines -- he even went to the effort of changing the soaker lines he installed in our front yard (in January) from the city water line to the well. Trust me when I say that this thoughtfulness and planning is a hallmark of Mr. Knoebel's approach to his work. On an off day we had arranged to meet Jim at a wholesale nursery so that we could look at plants and trees and discuss options for our back yard, Once the irrigation was done he and his crew immediately set to planting and tossing the mulch in. The transformation has been amazing, and we are completely thrilled with the way our yard looks! I would not hesitate to hire Second Nature for any future projects, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jim arrived as scheduled and cut out the old lawn one day and installed the new sod the next. He is extremely knowledgable and took the time to make sure all the sprinklers were set up correctly. I would definitely recommend Second Nature Landscaping and will use him in the future.

Second Nature Landscaping has been in a very good direction. They were polite, efficient, professional, punctual and very reasonable. They're very good at what they do.

Second Nature Landscaping is fantastic. He is incredibly thorough, attention to detail, reasonable and competitively priced, and goes the extra step. They go the extra mile. Jim was very professional, attention to detail, and an overall pleasant experience. I have recommended him to 15 people and they have all been happy. He is always first thing in the morning and sometimes before me if I have to drop my kids off. I will definitely use him again. I have used him 3 times already.

Does not guarantee his plants as many nurseries do. Got some bad advice from James which caused fungus on a palm he had planted and it is dying.

Jim arrived at the arranged time for my estimate. He walked the entire site with me listening to my ideas, and making suggestions on materials and methods. We agreed on a plan and the start date was scheduled. On that day Jim arrived with his crew and began working. every day began right on time, and the quality of their work was exceptional! The job was completed on time, and my backyard looks better than ever!

Jim was so great! He pointed me in the right direction and helped me tremendously!

I contacted Jim at Second Nature in order to get a bid for landscaping our front yard (all we had was some bad Bahia grass, a few sad golden dewdrops, a struggling palm and an out-of-control cherry laurel). We chose to use Second Nature, and are extremely pleased with the results. We are not the types to take care of high-maintenance plants, so Jim devised a drip-irrigation system for the two oak trees and 4 beds that he created. This required digging trenches to play pipe, installing battery-operated timers, and digging out an invasive (and persistent) cherry laurel next to our foundation. All of this labor was done professionally and efficiently. Jim selected plants that would thrive in a sunny front yard, and will continue to do so once I lose interest in regularly hand-watering (which, based upon prior experience, will probably happen about a month from now). In addition, he has offered to stop by in a few weeks to consult on adjusting the irrigation timers, as well as any other concerns we may have then. Jim is a consummate professional, and we will be calling him when it's time to do our backyard.

Second Nature Landscaping were very, very good. He listened to what I wanted and he showed me several options. He had his Ipad right with him so he could show me pictures of the plants right then. They were very quick, reasonable, and I basically liked the fact that he listened to me and took into consideration what I wanted. I had more than one person come by and told me what I should get and when I said I didn't want that they said well that is what you are getting. I would give him an A on everything. He was very professional with the company we had doing pavers. They worked together to move sprinkler heads. We had one of the sprinklers break under the pavers and he came back and fixed it. He made it look really great. I am going to call him back in the spring to trim it up and spruce it up a bit.

We called and Jim came out almost immediately (it was difficult to get others to even respond). Jim gave us a start date his crew showed up when scheduled. We ran into a few issues that were immediately resolved. Jim is very responsive which is important to us. We'll use Second Nature again for sure.

Jim was a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable and professional. He was kind enough to squeeze my job in at this very busy time of year.

From start to finish, from estimate to installation, the process went smoothly. No delays, no mix-ups, no misunderstandings.
