These guys are no nonsense. Showed up when they said to provide a quote. Ran around the house and looked at what we were requesting and immediately provided the quote. We agreed to move forward then and he was able to schedule us for the following week. They showed up this morning before 9am and spent 4 hours finishing the job. They cleaned up all of the debris and removed everything in their truck when done. The quote was more than I expected but I had no point of reference. Once the job was done, I realized the time involved was way more than I expected and the finished product was very impressive. Now I definitely feel like the cost was appropriate for the job. I will definitely hire them again.

Tony always does a superb job. I have used him so much that he can come and do the job without me even being here, I trust his work that much.

Provider showed up in a timely manner and completed all services contracted as requested. Provider checked in with homeowner prior to leaving and reviewed work and took care of a few items that homeowner pointed out. Service was great and price was fair.

I contacted their office and spoke with Janice (wife of owner) who was very nice and I explained what we would like to have done. We needed to have a huge Live Oak tree (that overhangs the roof) trimmed up to prevent any limbs from falling during a storm. We also had a 25 ft. Cherry Laurel hedge trimmed in half so that it was more manageable during routine yard work. We also had a dead Palm that we wanted the stump cut flat to the ground as well as a few other Palms trimmed up along the side of the house. We both work during the day so it was important that Tony either come out in the evening or weekend to look at the yard and give us an estimate. He came out that same evening. We also indicated to Tony that we needed this done as quickly as possible because the following weekend, we were having our 1920's bungalow termite tented and wanted to have that done so there would be less brush when the termite company put up the tenting around the house. Tony gave us an immediate estimate, said that he would make sure that it was done that next week. Well, the day he gave us the estimate was Saturday evening and he had the job completed three days later. The yard looks amazing. He came, did all that trimming and removal of the brush/limbs/trimming. There was no debris whatsoever on the ground. When we met Tony, we let him know how pleased we were and he said that really meant a lot to him. I have already told several friends and one of them will be calling soon because they need a very large tree trimmed. What we liked is that Tony and Janice are a small local St Petersburg business. He did an excellent job for a great price. I would not hesitate to call them next year for tree trimming before hurricane season. Thank you Tony & Janice.

The oak tree in our front yard was starting to grow out over the street and roof of our home. It was time for it to be trimmed back and shaped. I have used Peninsula Tree Service (Tony) for many years and am always extremely pleased with the work they perform. It is a "given" that I will always call Tony to do any tree work that is needed. Tony explained that it would be a few weeks out before he could get me on the schedule. I had no problem with that as this was not an emergency. Needless to say I would have waited anyway for Tony to do the work

We had a lovely experience, the owner of the company provided the estimate a nd performed the work. His team was prompt, professional and got the job done!

All of the work was done without a single issue. The trees were trimmed perfectly, the area was cleaned and everything was hauled away in 1 day. A few days later, after checking for utility lines in the area, the two tree stumps were ground down to allow for the planting of new palms. I have nothing but good things to say about the price and the work performed. If you are looking for tree service, I would highly recommend Peninsula Tree Service.

Tony Wiggins (owner) met me after 6 pm at my request to give me an estimate. He was very personable and professional. We discussed all the work I wanted done (remove 2 big trees, grind stumps and trim other trees). He provided a very reasonable estimate on the spot. I had to get a bee infestation removed from the tree before work could be performed, so that caused a slight delay. Then, we had a rainy spell. When I called to confirm that work would be performed as scheduled, Janice, Tony's wife, asked if the job could be postponed because rain had caused a backup in their schedule. That was perfectly fine with me - I was in no hurry. Tony Wiggins and his helper (sorry, can't remember his name) arrived early on the rescheduled date and set to work. This was a 2+ day job. Unfortunately, because of the delay, the bees had returned to the tree and caused trouble for Tony and his assistant. They got a good protion of the trees (a huge diseased Oak with 2 trunks and a cabbage palm) down the first day. I was in the middle of a family crisis, and was in and out both days, but it was apparent that Tony and co-worker worked extremely hard in very difficult conditions (horrible heat and angry bees). I was truly impressed and humbled by their work. I gave Tony a check for about 60% of the agreed amount on the morning they started work. That check was cashed promptly. I then gave Tony a check for the balance due on the afternoon of the second day of work. However, that check was not cashed until ALL the work was completed (including the grinding of the stumps which happened later the next week). This is proof to me that Tony is extremely ethical and honest. I have referred Peninsula Tree Service to my friends and would not hesitate to call Tony in the future when my trees need trimming. They're not a big outfit with fancy equipment, but they did a great job, and kept the cost reasonable. For that, I am most grateful.

Peninsula (Tony Wiggens) gave us the lowest estimate for removal of an out-of-control palm cluster growing next to our house. The growth was huge and blocking our view from the kitchen. We accepted Tony's offer. He agreed to remove it about 4 weeks after I called. On Aug 13, a very hot day, Tony and his helper worked long hours cutting and removing the cluster, cleaning up as they went. I think the job was harder than Tony originally imagined. The root system, about 4-5 feet wide, was ground down by a sub-contractor after Tony and his helper left (approx. 4 PM). The root was ground down and hole filled in by the sub-contractor, but two large piles of dirt and wood trimmings were left over. The sub-contractor wasn't going to remove the piles. I called Tony and he and a helper came over the next day and cleaned up. I appreciate Peninsula's effort on this difficult job.

Because of the size of the cedar, and that fact that it had served as a multi-family condo for woodpeckers and bees for a decade or more, ithe tree was hollow-out about half-way up. Accordingly, they decided to use a bucket truck to allow them to reach the upper reaches of the tree. They very neatly took the tree down with very little fuss. All of the folks on the ground, in the tree, and manning the controls of the bucket worked together deftly. The palm trimming was done perfectly...and quickly. And although the elephant ear tree was in a awkward spot (very close to the house and near the sprinkler system controls) they were able to take it down without mishap.

The company was courteous, prompt and professional. I was concerned that only the deadwood should be cleaned out of my trees and that they not be cut back too much. And that is exactly what I got. The trees look great and they cleaned up extremely well. I was quite well pleased with their service and would call them again.

Got an Angie's list coupon after reading all the good reviews. Had some small challenges getting estimate done, but Janice in office was timely and nice in her emails. Tony ( owner) was a bit late day of estimate, but nice guy, informative., professional at that visit. Day prior to service I left message on Tony's VM ( as well as an email to the company/ Janice) telling him I no longer needed the tree removed , but still wanted the other tree trimmed. Left my contact info on both. I was told that they would be at my house sometime between 0830-0900 ( weather was sunny that am), I waited until 0930, called and left a VM on Tony's cell phone and never received a return call. Waited until 10:15 am and no one ever showed, called or emailed. I called/ emailed one more time and cancelled job and am now trying to get a refund through Angie's for the coupon.

I purchased a special from the company, then had the owner come out for an estimate to cut branches off three very large oak trees. His quote seemed reasonable. I had to wait about a month for the service, however. They came on time and spent several hours climbing the trees and pruning, not a job I'd ever want to do. Now my roof is free of overhanging branches and my backyard is getting more sun.

Tony came out and gave me a proposal of $400. i told him i would get back with him so i could think about it. Talked to him another day and told him i just wanted the $111. worth $200. of his services like I paid for. He said it wouldn't be worth it for him to come back again for only $111. Thought that was odd. That's what his deal was. so i asked for a refund as he didn't want my business, not worth it.

The workers who came didn't trim our trees ? they "hacked" them; i.e., there was no shaping nor landscaping for curb appeal involved. So we have bare ends of tree limbs staring at us ("don't worry, ma'am, they'll grow dark over time") and treetops that are still straggly- and unkempt-looking. In addition, the owner told us he wasn't doing any more Angie's List coupons and told us he gave us an unspecified discount. Yet I see a new Angie's List "Buy Now" coupon now. For the money we spent, not an A+ job we expected.

They came out and looked at the trees. They told me that 8-10 years ago, they would have taken them off my hands, but there was no need for the pinto palms now. They took pictures of them and said they’d keep them on file. They were professional and polite.

They are always very good with the work and cleaning up afterwords. Tony is great and also gave me a recommendation for stump removal which I appreciated!

After he submitted the estimate he vanished and never did the work. My calls were not returned. Finally I reached someone on the phone she said that there had been equipment problems and he'd call me. He never did.

They did a wonderful job and where very reasonably priced. We will be using them again in the future.

I have another company coming out to fix the mess left by Palms Tree Service.

Peninsula Tree Service is apparently very busy this time of year and I had some difficulty setting an appointment for service. Once a day was set, they came as scheduled and did a fine job. They trimmed in accordance with my instructions and did a good job of cleaning up. This is my second time using Peninsula and I plan to call them again next year.

He does a great job. He brings a mulch machine so you don't have big fronds to clean up. He is very professional.

We agreed on an approximate time but I asked to get a call before arrival. Instead, I heard someone walking on my roof without any notice. The pruning was performed well, but the clean-up was only fair. A ladder was left behind. I called that same afternoon and left a message about it. No one called back. I called again four days later but am still waiting for a response.
