He gave me the estimate but said he was booked and wouldn't be out for about 3 weeks. I came home from work one day and the job was done about 1-1/2 weeks later. If I didn't look up, I would have never known they were here. Did a great trim job and a clean up job. Happy they were able to come out earlier. Pleased with the work.

I bid the job out for a substantial pruning of the part of my neighbor's diseased Laurel Oak that was hanging over my property, and causing a hazard to us and passers-by on the sidewalk in front of my house. Peninsula Tree gave me the most reasonable price, and no one could have done a more professional job than Peninsula's principal Tony Wiggins, and his assistant. Tony did a great job staying in touch with me about when he could get this small job fitted into his busy schedule. He showed up promptly on the agreed upon day, did the job quickly and precisely, and for the exact amount of his very fair estimate. His office manager is his wife Janice, and she just happens to be as warm as she is competent. Finally, Tony delivered several yards of free mulch to my house, as I requested, again when agreed upon, and left it just where I wanted. Highly recommended.

We have used Tony about three times now for work on our trees and hedges. He always does a great job. He is on time, works hard and leaves the yard spotless. We had a long row of hedges removed from our property so that we could install a fence. Everything went well from start to finish. I really appreciate that Tony always leaves the yard looking great. He rakes up any leaves and small branches from taking down the hedges. We will continue to recommend this business to others and will use him again for maintenance of our trees.

He and his helper were punctual. They did exactly what we talked about having done with the tree. Cleaned the yard when they were finished cutting and trimming. Chopped all the dead wood and the branches they removed. Left the tree looking 100% better.

We were very happy with Tony and his helper. He trimmed seven Palm trees and one very large Oak tree. Everythng was cleaned up and removed when he was finished. I would recommend him and will call him again when needed.

They did exactly what I asked. Tony and his crew are very professional. They arrived on time, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves so there was no mess whatsoever.

Tony and his guy were here for about 7 hours. They trimmed and elevated two large oak trees on our property. They cleaned out the limbs above the roof (easing our worried about falling branches), removed all dead or dying limbs, and thinned out the canopy. Now we can see our backyard again but there's still enough canopy to provide us with shade. They were very professional, cleaned up everything when they were done, and the results were great for the money spent. I'd recommend Peninsula Tree Service and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I got Penninsula Tree from Angie's list. The phone was answered by Janice, the wife of the owner. She was most pleasant in setting up the initial estimate visit. In subsequent phone calls I found her cheerful and helpful in answering my needs. Andrew,owner, was promt in his original estimate visit and provided a competitive price. At the time he was very busy and told me it would be about three weeks until he could do my property - true to his word he was back in three week and did a wonderful job. Based on my experience I would recommend his service,

The owner came out promptly and gave an estimate of $375 which included grinding down the stump & exposed roots. Although he was booked several weeks ahead, he arrived two days later with a helper and cut the tree down in sections. Afterwards he cleaned up the area and removed all the debris. Two days after that a man from Randy's Stump Removal came and ground down the stump/roots. I was very pleased with the service and would definitely use this company again.

THE OWNER CAME ON TIME TO SCHEDULED TIME TO GIVE US A PROPOSAL AND SCHEDULED US THE VERY NEXT MORNIING TO DO THE WORK. THEY WERE HERE 10 MINUTES EARLY, DID THE WORK, CLEANED UP THE MESS AND WERE GONE IN SHORT TIME. VERY NICE MEN TO HAVE AROUND YOUR HOUSE.

They arrived on time, worked steadily until the work was done. They raked up and removed all the debris. The trees and yard look much better. If we get tropical storms or hurricanes this season, I will feel much relieved that we are better prepared. .

He was excellent. He was very much on time. I have nothing but positive things to say about him. He arrived on time. He was well equipped to do the job. He knew exactly how to do it. He worked with me and finished in a timely fashion.

I agree with the previous reviewer that Tony did not initially come when scheduled and did not call. But in my opinion that's a minor nuisance compared to the job he did and the price he charged. He was precisely punctual on the day the work was done. His price was the lowest of 4 bids I got for the job (less than half of two of the bids). It required a lot of heavy work, cutting the tree down then feeding it into a chipper. They were finished in a little over an hour. He was polite, professional and seemed to know exactly what he was doing (I say "seemed" only because I don't cut down trees for a living). Sometimes good practitioners at their craft are not good at running their business (the failure to show up or call). And this was not an emergency situation, so the rescheduling, as I said before, was just a minor nuisance. Overall, I was satisfied and would definitely use him again

Scheduled two appointments to get a quote and both times Peninsula was a no show. I called them back after the first no show (keep in mind, they did not call me to cancel, reschedule, or otherwise) and I scheduled a second appointment to get a quote. After the second no show, I gave up. Both times that they were supposed to come out, I was at home with my cell phone next to me and they never showed up and never called to say they would be late, etc. Very nice on the phone but they need to respect customer's time. I went out of my way to make sure either my husband and I were at home at the designated time, so I know for sure that they never knocked on door or called.

The oaks looked amazing having been trimmed and lifted. Removing the other trees really opened up the garden. Really good professional service that we will certainly use again.

I arranged an appointment for Tony to stop by and give me an estimate for the job. He arrived as scheduled, gave me an estimate and said it might be able to do the job the following day. He called the following morning and arranged a time to come over. He and assistant arrived as scheduled and did the job. They did a great job of cleaning up and also gathered those branches that fell into my neighbor's yard. Everything was as I requested. The job took about 2 hours.

Tony not only leaped on the 'bid' process (came out on a Saturday whilst we were in St. Petersburg for the day and called to let me know the cost for (simply) the neighbor's pine we needed taken down in order to stop having needles stuck in our screen cage. His verbal quote was same as (at that time) the lowest bid (the other tree guy having offered to take down some oak branches also overhanging the pool cage n order to 'get the job'. Interviewed at least 4 others to get best price (as this wasn't even 'our' tree so we were bearing cost of both permit / extraction. LOVED Tony's wife (Janice) handling of office/administrator work. When another who bid the work freaked me out about insurance nuances she immediately got their insurance company to send evidence Tony is insured. She also reassured me that Pinellas/Tony being willing to do the work as reasonably as he did was because of low(er) overhead than the other Tree Removal services and the fact that it's slow(er) in winter and Tony has always taken work where he can get it. I love a work ethic that so models my own but the best was yet to come. Tony and his able-bodied part-monkey assistant David showed up on the appointed day and before the arduous work of taking down the 'big boy', Tony bid for 'de-shagging' the 8 miscellaneous palms on our property. Jim had gotten a quote on these (again, the second tree guy had been trying to 'beat' Pinellas Tree Service, whom he knew to be reliable / good /insured, and had finally said, '$300) and Tony agreed to match his $300. The big pine was a major miracle of teamwork by Tony and Dave and literally took HOURS to bring down safely and mulch (they willingly left us a load, on a tarp in our driveway, of this mulch we've since put to good use). Without taking a break they then swung in to the palms with incredibly scary laddering skill and several MORE hours later had them looking absolutely amazing. I figure with the hours they actually put in they made about $75/hour (between the two of them) and this is hard and dangerous work. As seniors who have had a major chunk of our savings put in to this foreclosure property we very much appreciated the financial 'break' all their hard work represented to us as homeowners. We will recommend these fellows until the cows come home and most certainly use them again!
