Peninsula Tree Service

I requested that they remove larger branches from tree to keep libs out of neighbors yard. They did not. They drug all limbs and branches over my roof. They did not listen to anything I would say. I have had a different tree service prior to them and they did a better more professional job. He miss communicates.

Tony showed up on-time to review the job. He listened to what I wanted done (both the oak debris removal and the trimming) demonstrated his understanding of the work and also identified a problem limb I had not noticed. He gave a very reasonable estimate (the other two estimates I received were $450 and $1000, respectively) and was available in a short time frame. He and his crew showed up as scheduled for the work, did the job quickly and were very neat and clean. They were considerate of my next-door neighbor's concerns and treated my father with respect when he dropped-in with a few suggestions. They ended up collecting eight 30-gallon trashcans full of leaf litter from the flat roof and trimmed about 50 linear feet of branches (widely varying thicknesses). While they were there they also hauled out some ground-level overgrowth, at little extra charge. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend them highly to my Saint Pete neighbors.

He basically told me that he couldn't tell me what was wrong with the tree. He said he had no way of knowing why a tree is dying.

Peninsula was great. They came out very quickly after initially calling. We had to change the date a couple of times for when they would come, but that was due to my travel schedule and rain. I would hire them again.

He made many excuses and rescheduled several times. He finally showed up (late) and had more excuses about what time he thought the appointment was. I wouldn't use him again, not sticking to his word was unprofessional.

A couple of the trees they did not take off the stalks that we had talked about. The orange tree was not cut far enough. I called to get them to come back and fix this for me, but they have not returned my phone calls in several weeks.

Very good tree service company. Highly recommended.

I originally contacted them in 5/2005 to see if Tony would match a previous quote I had from him. He did, so I not only gave him the work, but added removal of a hedge. It took nearly 10 calls and 6 weeks to get them out to the house. I wanted to be there to walk them through the work after such a long delay, but was unable to due to their lack of advance notification, and all they did was trim a few non oak trees. About 5 more phone calls and a month later he came out and finished the oak trees also in the original quote, again with no notice and again I was unable to walk him through what I expected. Overall, it was a very good job, except he left significant branches over the yard. He grudgingly came out to cut one of them, and said he'd only do the other for more money. Even though I agreed to it and he agreed to come back out, a few phone calls later proved otherwise. I'd use him again, but it's just not worth the effort. I feel cheated compared to the other reviews here.

This is my third year with Tony and am very pleased with his work. He is very busy and may may not always adhere to a schedule, but he is worth the wait, does an excellent job and always leaves the yard neat and clean. I highly recommend Peninsula Tree Service.

Tony Wiggins and his crew were professional and efficient. Tony gave me a good estimate and his wife was very courteous and helpful on the phone. Unfortunately, the morning they were at the house they had cut the trees down and there were limbs laying all over the back yard when his chipper broke. Tony went to get parts but couldn't fix it. He asked if I minded if they came back on Monday (this was Saturday). He had another job on Monday and wasn't able to get back until Wednesday (that was a long time to not have access to the back yard). Overall, the crew was good. I would just make sure that his chipper is working well before hiring him again.

I called them for service and they came out to give an estimate and were very quick to do so. They were going to come out the next day and trim the trees, but they did not show up or call. When I called, they said that someone didn't show up for work and sorry, that they think they'll be out sometime the next week. When I said I was not going to be there, they said that was fine that they would come out and send a bill. They did not come out the next week. They initially came out February 22nd, and were supposed to do the work on the 23rd. It finally got done on March 8th. They quoted me $200, but I have not received a bill from them yet. They were very nice on the phone, but they did not follow through with what they were promising.

Prompt response originally. Reasonable prices. Friendly and friendly staff. He did not complete all the work the first visit and had to call him repeatedly to have the work finished. He used our ladder and left it standing against the house, and did not put the lawn furniture back.

TONY WIGGGINS RESPONDED PROMPTLY, WENT OUT TO THE HOUSE AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE, AND SET A DATE FOR WORK TO BE DONE. HE DID MOST OF THE WORK HIMSELF. HE ALSO REMOVED SOME ADDITIONAL BRUSH FROM THE YARD AT NO ADDITIONAL COST WHICH WE APPRECIATED. SUBCONTRACTED THE STUMP GRINDING TO RANDY'S STUMP REMOVAL WHO ALSO DID A GOOD JOB.

I LEAVE MESSAGES ON HIS MACHINE AND HE WILL NOT RETURN CALLS.

HAS A BIG BACKLOG OF WORK, BUT IS WORTH THE WAIT. THIS IS THE SECOND TREE (LIGHTNING, TWICE) TONY HAS REMOVED FOR ME. GREAT CLEAN-UP AFTER WHAT IS A VERY MESSY TASK. VERY PROFESSIONAL. FAIR PRICE.

I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO FOUR OTHER PEOPLE. IT TOOK ABOUT A MONTH DUE TO THEIR BEING SO BUSY. THE MAN WHO OWNS THE BUSINESS, TONY, WAS OUT THERE WITH THEM.

FAILED TO CONFIRM APPOINTMENT FIRST TIME, I CALLED TO ESTABLISH A REPLACEMENT APPOINTMENT. THOUGHT HE WAS EXPENSIVE AND WOULD NOT ACCEPT/HONOR COUPON AS MENTIONED IN YOUR RATING, BUT WAS TOLD HE WOULD ACCEPT IT NEXT TIME. I DON'T THINK THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME.

PRICE WAS EXACTLY AS COMPETITORS TONY BUT OFFERED $25 DISCOUNT TO AL MEMBERS, THAT HELPED ME SELECT HIM FOR THE JOB. HE WAS ALSO VERY FRIENDLY.

ALL WORK COMPLETED AND TONY WAS AMAZING. IT'S A SCARY THING TO WATCH A GUY CLIMB UP A TREE AND DANGLE FROM A CABLE AND THEN WIELD A CHAIN SAW WITH ONE HAND TO CUT THE TREE DOWN. A LITTLE BIT OF A PROBLEM WITH THE STUMP REMOVAL GUYS WHO COULD NOT REMOVE AN OLD GNARLY STUMP WE HAD WANTED REMOVED, SO BE SURE THEY ARE ON BOARD WITH TONY'S DEAL.

CALLED 4 WEEKS AGO FOR A QUOTE. HE CAME OUT WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD AND WAS THE CHEAPEST OF THE THREE QUOTES I HAD GOTTEN. HE SAID IT WOULD BE 3 WEEKS UNTIL HE COULD SCHEDULE THE WORK. I CALLED AT THE 3RD WEEK MARK AND HE CAME OUT AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF WEEK 4 - RIGHT AFTER HURRIACNE DENNIS. MY HUSBAND WAS HOME WHEN HE DID THE WORK. HE SAID HE WAS GOOD. DID WHAT HE WAS ASKED AND DID A GOOD JOB. HE WAS A STRAIGHT SHOOTER. IN AND OUT WHICH IS WHAT WE LIKE.
