A Plus Plastering

John was professional in every way. He works alone so you don't have other employees in your home. He was one of the few who would repair the actual plaster ceiling (not drywall) from the 60's. I thought his price was very fair and the quality of the work was excellent. He protected everything in the house from dust and cleaned up when finished. John agreed up front that if he couldn't get the texture to match perfectly, he would re-plaster the entire ceiling. When he finished and said "come take a look and see if you like it" , I was amazed. We did need to paint the entire ceiling which was expected with such a repair. Now it looks like nothing ever happened! I will hire John if ever needed.

I thought John quoted a fair price and the work he did was excellent. He was very detailed and repaired every crack, even the tiniest ones. I was not aware that he was expecting cash payment upon finishing and does not take credit cards. I live out of town and could not drive to the house to meet him, but he did accept a check in the mail. His wife holds down the office and she is just a delight to work with. I would highly recommend them for a quality job.

Not only did John do a beautiful job around the sliding glass door, he went above and beyond the call of duty while prepping our closet for the new closet system. He made time to accomplish a task I didn't even have on his work order. He removed damaged wood and plaster around our sliding glass door and repaired it beautifully. He also covered several old GTE box openings. Once they are painted, it will be as if they were never there. John is a highly conscientious professional who takes great pride in his craft. This is the second time we've hired him. He is neat, works quietly, is very accommodating and truly goes the extra mile. He gives you his honest opinion, which we deeply appreciate. John gave me an estimate of the time it would take and he was right on. We would absolutely hire him again.

This company came out for an estimate when scheduled, performed the work when scheduled and did the job he promised. While repairing the cracks in the ceiling, he noticed some small additional problems he addressed. A customer couldn't ask for more. I will use this company for additional work in the near future.

I was having the exterior of my house painted and the painter noticed an are of loose stucco. He advised me to have it repaired before he painted. I called A Plus Plastering based on positive Angie's List reviews and gave them a description of the area needing repaired. John called me back and gave an estimate of $350 for the project and said he could come out on Sunday (which was perfect since the painter was going to be finishing up on Monday). John arrived on schedule Sunday morning and I showed him the area. We also walked around the house and noticed a few other spots that looked a bit rough. With the new areas, John revised his quote for the job to $525 - very reasonable. About four hours later, he was finished and I was very happy with the work. The painter was able to finish up Monday as scheduled. I would highly recommend A Plus Plastering for stucco work and would not hesitate to use them again.

John is a true professional. He was able to match the existing ceiling finish and provided overall quality workmanship.

When they fiirst came and opened up the wall the inside supporting structure was more deteriorated than we thought. They covered the wall to protect it from the elements until I could get a framer to rebuild the supporting structure. They returned and added stucco to the new supporting structure. They kept me up to date on the process and sent pictures because I wasn't there to see the construction.

Got a quote that day while John (the owner/plasterer) was driving home from another job, which I appreciated. Got two quotes, one for doing the entire living room ceiling and two bedroom ceilings ($2k), and then a smaller quote for the few major cracks. It was a smaller job (~8 hrs) so they were able to schedule us on a weekend, two weeks out. His wife called me a week later saying they had an opening during the week if I wanted to get the job done early, but I was out of town. Sunday came and there were no issues. He showed up, covered the walls and any furniture, we talked about which cracks he was going to address, and he got to work. He took the time to explain to my family what exactly he was doing, and gave us a few pro tips. I could tell he took no shortcuts, and went the extra mile to make sure his repairs were blended correctly and would stand the test of time. I rarely write reviews, but this man and his wife have got a good thing going. They have a positive energy and are reliable/consistent, which is rare in the home repair world. I only wish I had an electrician, plumber, and GC version of John.

I had a Spanish house and I had some water intrusion between the frame of the house which is concrete block and the water got between cracks. He had to go over the entire house to repair some areas that has actually fallen off and sealed some of the cracks. He did a great job and he and I will have him done more work for me. He showed up when he was suppose to.

Initially my communication went well. I had contacted the company 1 to 1 1/2 week prior to needing the service and I indicated the dates I would be in town. I was told that they do the type of repairs I needed and they prefer to do their work late afternoons. I was told that some one would be coming out to take a look and give me an estimate and confirm they could do the repair. When the man arrived he took a glance, said he could do it and would be around $500.00 and he would need two days, AND that he is running two weeks out until his next availability! My complaint was, why was this not told to me during the earlier conversations? I am happy that your company is that booked, however this is information you should provide to potential costumers right off the start. Needless to say I found a different company who came at the last minute charged me $200 less and had it completed in a little over an hour, it looks fantastic!!

John Sciandra, owner of A-Plus Plastering, is a plaster savant, and a treasure for anyone in need of REAL PLASTER work (not just drywall repair-which I'm sure he can do as well)! John arrived on time as scheduled. He quickly assessed the situation and got to work. He did a fantastic job of removing the water-damaged plaster and the horrible attempted DIY repair perpetrated by two home owners, who shall remain nameless. ( Much to his credit, he did not laugh too hard at our poor attempt to fix it ourselves! John is a master at knowing exactly what type of plaster to mix for the situation at hand and he was well-prepared with all necessary supplies. We were concerned that anybody would be able to do it, but John was able to make a very good match on our 1959 swirl-patterned plaster ceiling for the bedroom. We are ecstatic with the finished product! John also fixed some exterior stucco where we had removed an old well housing, and some other minor stucco breaks. He did an excellent job of matching our old-style popcorn stucco. We are very pleased with the result. On this visit, he also repaired water-damaged walls in our bathroom. These are plaster on concrete and concrete block walls ( gotta' love 1959 construction). John was supposed to fix the bathroom walls on the first visit when he fixed the bedroom ceiling and the exterior stucco. He was able to complete one wall, and it looks beautiful. However, once he knocked the old plaster out on the other wall, he found the wall to be very wet from an unidentified leak. He helped us find the source of the leak in a join near the porch roof and main house, and recommended a good sealer. It was necessary to fix the leak and let the wall thoroughly dry for several days in order for John to complete the repair. So John packed up his tools for the day, and had us schedule a follow-up appointment with his office manager (wife), who is very pleasant and professional as well. After the leak was repaired and wall dry, we scheduled John to complete the repair. Once again, he arrived as scheduled and did a wonderful, professional job. My bathroom walls look terrific! John is extremely professional, organized, neat and very nice too. We highly recommend him to anyone in need of plaster repair work. It is very difficult to find someone who can do REAL PLASTER WORK, but it was our lucky day when we located John on Angie's List! Thank you again for a job well done, John!

We chose to delay the repair and perhaps repair it ourselves.

My header looks amazing and not like a patch job. John spent a considerable amount of time working meticulously on the job. He was a nice man and very polite.

He was excellent. I was very concerned about my living room ceiling. We have a plaster swirled pattern ceiling in the living room and I was afraid no one could match the pattern. He matched it so well you can't tell it was done. He also did a fantastic job in our kitchen. He was on time , covered everything and made sure everything was put back. It was a real pleasure dealing with him. I wish all the other people I've hired for different jobs would have been half as good as him!!!!! Would highly recommend!!!! A real pleasure.

John is more than professional. He is a wonderful person to have in your home. He always told us when he would arrive and did so. He was very clean in his work, patient and wanted us to be happy with his work. He does his own work and does not have subcontactors come in to work. They are excellent. My wife's brother is very handy with tools, and he has done a lot of construction type work, looked at it, and said that it was absolutely beautiful. We are very happy with the work. I thought the price was very reasonable, and my brother-in-law also said that it was a very good price for all that work.

John from A+ Plastering was quick to call me back and set up an appointment. He showed up as promised and provided a fair estimate for the repairs I needed. One the work was scheduled, he completed it on time and did a great job matching the existing stucco. I even got a discount on the price for using Angie's list. I am very pleased with the results and would use him again. Excellent job overall!!!

John spent approximately 6 hours repairing several areas on the outside of my house where the stucco had loosened/fell off of block and/or wooden frame. In particular, he was careful to form the stucco to match the existing "pattern". John also took the time to show me where to look for future/potential problems, and how to prevent them from getting worse.

They never called back at all.

It turned out good and he did a very good job. I ended up going $300 beyond the big deal.

John came out the day we called to provide an estimate. Very fair price, especially with the 10% senior discount. Made an appointment for the next week. Then, we got a call that he could come two days earlier. When does that happen? Very professional.

John is very professional and particular with his work. You don't find that kind of quality often. He's a true craftsman!
