A&D arrived early, got set-up and started right away. Darrell and his wife were friendly and easy to talk to. We were anticipated about a 4 hour time frame and they finished early. Fortunately for us it was because the house was in pretty good shape. They answered any questions we had while the inspection was underway and encouraged us to ask questions. All the answers were put into lay-man terms. Darrell even offered additional advice on how easy it would be to fix things and gave recommendations for some do's and don'ts. Darrell explained the entire inspection with a final walk through which was a very nice touch! The final report is a bit lengthy, but it covered everything with nice pictures, the problem, and recommend actions. I would recommend A&D and would use them again if we ever buy another home.

The appointment went very well. This was our first home inspection experience, but I am coming from several years in construction background. I went into this with the expectation of getting the whole home inspection out of the way so that I could subsequently have the real tradesmen come in to do their inspections. After walking through with Darrell I felt so confident in his experience and judgement that I decided to go with his report as our final basis for repair requests. Saved us hundreds in other inspection fees, and found quite a few hidden but important issues to be repaired. Definitely recommend!

The A&D team arrived early and started the very thorough inspection. Finding things I would have never found to be wrong with the house I'm buying. At the end of the inspection they go over everything they found and explain it. Very friendly and will definitely recommend them to anyone.

It went very well. Darrell was there early and had already done a lot of the outside when real estate agent arrived. Very efficient yet thorough inspection of the house. Darrell finds things that many others would miss and works in tandem with his wife during the inspection. When he's done with the inspection, he walks through the house with the prospective buyer and explains each and every finding. He will also tell you if it is a big deal or just a cosmetic fix. Then the next day you get a very in-depth report complete with pictures and explanations. We have used him twice. First time, he saved us from buying a house that would have been a nightmare of major repairs and literally thousands of dollars. Second time he confirmed that the house we were going to purchase was in very good shape with just a couple of minor details. It's like having a home inspected by a group of HVAC, Plumber, roofer, electrician all in one. I have had each of these follow-up afterwards to get quotes for repair costs. Each time they say the same thing about a potential issue pointed out by Darrell: "yes, he's right".

The inpection very well and very professional and detailed, including a full and complete report with pictures and a walk through with myself at the conclusion of the inspection itemizing and explaining each deficiency requiring attention and or repair. Very satisfied.

The A/D Team were exceptionally knowledgeable, polite, professional, and prompt. If you are looking for an inspector to check out a home prior to purchase, this is the company you want to hire. If you want to know potential inspection pitfalls prior to listing a house, this is the company you want to hire. If you want to be able to negotiate a lower selling price, the report that you receive will provide all the negotiating leverage you will need. They were also very patient and understanding. The initial inspection could only be done partially since we could not find out where crawl space access was (it was under a hamper in the bathroom). Could not get up to the attic because a huge tool box blocked the access. But since they were there they did what they could. We experienced a major freeze/ice storm, so we had to wait until temps got back up above freezing to complete the attic and crawlspace inspection. Darrell is more than the typical home inspector. He has an incredible knowledge of construction, codes, and standards from decades in the construction business. He also has the professional ability to be non-judgmental and provide a non-biased opinion about the installation or construction processes that were used. He is very thorough, with a particular emphasis on anything that could pose a safety issue. Darrell also possesses an innate ability to teach and explain in terms that could be understood by a non-construction person such as myself. He also breaks each finding down to a "safety/danger" issue, a "need to check/assess further", a "need to repair/replace" or a "maintenance" issue. An outside circuit box with an open punch out where a kid could place a stick and get electrocuted is a safety issue (he's that thorough) Cracks in the brick with displacement and associated cracks in the stem wall need to be evaluated by a structural engineer--that is an example of the "need to assess" further. A roof trashed from hail is an example of the need to repair/replace Missing weatherstripping or insulation around pipes is the example of a maintenance issue. Unfortunately, he found all of the above and much more. Even with all the issues found, Darrell wasn;t judgmental. He said it was all repairable, it just was a matter of economics and time. He clearly left any decision up to me. His report, complete with explanations, pictures, arrows, circles was 51 pages long. We opted not to purchase the property and backed out of the contract. We'll eat the inspection fees, but it will be a very small price to pay to avoid purchasing a house that appeared nice on the surface, but would have caused significant issues down the road. If you want a real home inspection done, use A/D Home inspections. It will be money well spent.

A & D Home Inspection is a husband and wife team. I was in the process of buying a home and wanted it inspected to help identify any problems with the house. When I initially called to set up an appointment, they were quick to respond to my request for an inspection. They told me they were booked up, but when I told them I had only 10 days to get the inspection done, they scheduled an early morning inspection to accommodate my needs. On the day of the inspection, both Andrea and Darrell were there at the home a few minutes early. They went over the inspection process and explained what they did and did not inspect. As they inspected the house with me, they told me if there any problems and if they were serious enough to need immediate attention or just something that should be fixed when convenient. They spent about 4 hours with the inspection. It was a large home with a water well, septic tank, and a 19 zone sprinkler system. At first, I was not going to have them inspect the sprinkler system, but I'm glad I did, as they found several problems with the system. They took a water sample and sent it in to be tested and emailed the test results as soon as they were returned about a week later. They took many pictures of the problem areas. When they finished the inspection, they told me they would email me the final report within 24 hours. I received a very comprehensive 50 page report with photographs to document the problems that same evening, less than 12 hours after they completed the inspection at the home. The report was detailed and comprehensive. I thought the fee was a little high, but I later learned that for the amount of time and the size of the property, their fee was about average for my area. All in all, I was very pleased with their work and would not hesitate in using them again or recommending them to family or friends.
