A&D Home Inspection

Darrell was very thorough looking throughout the house and saw things that we had missed even though we had inspected the house a couple of times already. He took the time to thoroughly explain all the issues he found and made recommendations for their repair. The report he provided us following the inspection was very thorough and easy to understand.

Darrell did a good job. He was very friendly and worked quickly. He also followed up after sending the inspection report to answer any questions I may have had. The report was very detailed with pictures of the items inspected. Darrell seemed very knowledgeable. One reason I chose his services, besides having a very good rating on Angie's List, was that he also inspects well and septic. He did a well water quality check (took two samples), which resulted in needed treatment. I had hoped for a bit more detail on the well and septic, as this costs extra to inspect. There was no information provided in the report about these systems, though we discussed them in minor detail during the walk through.

Darrell was exceedingly professional, punctual and polite. He arrived at the stated time and diligently examined the home, not rushing or otherwise cutting corners. He identified issues that the untrained eye would never have seen, and provided options and suggestions for resolving some of those issues. Darrell walked around with a digital camera and snapped countless pictures of each and every issue, which he would later insert into a comprehensive report to send me. He spent several hours examining the home, tagging and noting issues he wanted to address with me personally. Upon the conclusion of his examination, he walked me through the home (inside and out) to point out some things he wanted to bring to my attention for either the buying process or the repair/replace process upon purchase. This was a great service as I am a rookie in this particular area, and Darrell patiently explained to me the issues, causes and costs. The walk-through took approximately 45 minutes, which was 45 well-spent minutes. I feel so much more educated now than I did prior to Darrell's inspection. Darrell inspected my home from 9am until approximately noon. By 10pm that same evening, Darrell sent me a 45-page report detailing his findings, including multiple photographs, close-ups and explanations of the issues. This report will be instrumental in the process of purchasing the home, notably in respect of both (a) improving the condition of the home, and (b) negotiating with the seller. Without reservation, I would strongly recommend A&D Home Inspection. I will almost certainly hire Darrell again to inspect any home construction projects I undertake in the future.

Darrel and his lovely assistant (His wife) were a great team. They scheduled my appointment promptly in the midst of the holidays. Darrel was super informative of everything he inspected, explaining every detail to my non-handyman level to complete understanding, truly bridging the gap!!! Darrel gave me many heads up on future repairs to be on the look out for even with a estimate to prepare me, AWESOME advice for a soon-to-be 1ST X HOME OWNER!!! The home report was thorough giving me a great understanding of cost for repairs & highest of importance. He also made himself available for assisting with finding the "RIGHT" professionals that would be required for repairs. Darrel and his daughter (assistant) were punctual and spent the first 2+ hours performing the inspection. Afterward he took me and showed me all the concerns that he had and he had addressed. The document provided was AN OUTSTANDING report. The items identified were pictured when necessary and detailed to the point that I could understand it with my limited knowledge of home construction. I would recommend him highly.

The inspection was done in a timely manner and he sent us the report that same night!

Darrell Thomas did a great job with the inspection. He took the time to explain his finding and followed up with a written report.

My husband really liked working with them. They took their time and even crawled under the house to check everything. They spent about three and a half hours insepcting the work. When I called to schedule the appointment on Thursday they were able to come and complete the inspection the following Monday.

After the home inspection was completed we found a few things were not up to code that A&D did not flag. We were not happy to find this out and would not recommend their services.

I hired them after finding them on the top of Angie’s List. Their price was reasonable and that’s why I chose them. They were thorough and honest about it. They were wonderful!

This husband/wife team worked very well together and explained everything they found, whether it was a repair or replacement and how to fix it. The report provided was very thorough with pictures highlighting the issues. They called back the same day I left a message, were early to the appointment and had already started when I arrived.

When it came time to have the home I was purchasing inspected, I wanted someone who would be totally impartial (to the homeowners or my realtor) and picky. Angie's List led me to Darrell and I was not disappointed. He showed up early with an assistant. It was a hot day but they looked the house over from top to bottom without complaint. They took lots of pictures and documented all of the issues they found. A & D charges more for older houses and for houses with a crawl space - making it a little pricier than some of the other inspector around. But, all of the info Darrell gave me really put my mind at ease and helped me negotiate the issues with the sellers.

I would recomend Darrell and A & D Home Inspections to everybody in the OKC area. From start to finish Darrell was great. He almost always answered my calls and if not he returned them right away. In our first conversation he was more than willing to answer any questions I had. There were lots too, as this was my first inspection. On the day of the inspection he was on time and got right to work. Darrell was very detailed throughout and friendly the whole time. At the end he did a final walk through to go over all problems. By the next day I had a full report with everything I needed to know. During this process I asked for a sprinkler check, there was no sprinkler system (I was wrong there). I had already paid him but he refunded the amount of that system check very quick. Overall, if you are having doubts or not sure who to go with for your home inspection, Darrell is the guy to call. You will be very happy and very confident in the home.

Darrel and Todd did a great job inspecting a home I am buying. They are friendly and punctual. I have had home inspections before, they were OK but I wanted a more in depth inspection and after reading the reviews I choose A&D. Glad I did. The inspection took about 3-4 hours to complete (2500 sq ft house) That was built 1940s. Darrel checked every square inch of the house. After his inspection he did a walk thru and explained all that he found and the needed repairs. He also explained the updates done to the house. His report was emailed that evening very in depth with pictures and because of the great walk thru I understood everything. A&D is a little more expensive than others but you get what you pay for. His inspection is thorough. You won't be disappointed. With such a large investment make sure you protect yourself and hire them for your home inspection.

The house was in Oklahoma but we live in California. We were on a tight timeline. Being non-residents, I turned to Angies List for inspectors. A&D scheduled us in two days. He showed up on time, performed a thorough inspection, inside & out, and prepared a report that was sent to me on the internet. He identified many areas of concern and called me when he saw that I was reviewing the report. He was so concerned that he felt compelled to call me and explain many of the issues. His report was so thorough and complete that we felt confident making a decision on the purchase. We backed out of our offer and never regretted our decision to hire A&D or cancel the purchase.

What an incredible service and company. I had never had a home inspection before so I didnt know what to expect. He was very professional and on time. He gave us so much insight on the things that needed to be fixed on the house. We were extremely impressed by the report that was given to us after the inspection. It was very detailed with pictures on the exact things that needed to be fixed and the urgency in which they needed to be done. I will definitely only use him in the future.

Any time we are stationed in this area we will use this company for home inspections. Darrel and Andrea were EXTREMELY thorough! They actually caught things that the inspector we hired when we originally purchased our home did not catch! They were knowledgeable about the various discrepancies, and ways to rectify them ourselves. They also gave us invaluable advice on "extras" we could do to make the sale of the house easier. They gave us such great advice we actually had a contract on the house before the property was technically "listed"! Furthermore, their input was a major factor in us getting our actual asking price on the home! We have not had the buyers inspection (which is required with VA loans); however, we feel very comfortable with this impending inspection. We are also fairly certain what the outcome will be from it. Bottom line, if you are on the fence as to which company to go with for a home inspection, go with A & D! Their services are top of the line!

Darrell Thomas did a wonderful job. Did a running commentary as he inspected doing point outs and estimates. Was personable, punctual, professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. I have had 3 other inspections done in other states with different guidelines and his is by far the best and most useful. I do not hesitate in recommending his service. During the inspection he discovered an electrical problem that prevented finishing. After the repair, he came back and started over with no extra charge.

This is a great company who provides excellent service to their customers. Mr. Thomas, whose wife works with him doing the home inspections, arrived as scheduled and both went right to work. They were both very experienced. The inspection took about 3 1/2 hrs. I have had home inspections done before, but have never had one as detailed and informative as the one they did. After they completed the inspection, they took me around showing every item found which was a concern. Within 24 hrs. I had received a detailed written report with pictures of all items found. Some were small maintenance items, others were major equipment items (heating system) that needed to be replaced. If you are purchasing a home or would like to know what condition your current home is in, I would highly recommend A & D Home Inspection.

A&D Home Inspection went very well. They came out in March. He was a very nice gentleman, he explained everything that he was doing when I asked questions. It was a positive experience. He did explain everything, if I had questions and he had questions, he explained why he was asking us questions. Would I use him again, yes ma'am. It was $400.

Hired A&D to inspect a brand new home we purchased from a builder. Darrell and Andrea were very thorough and found several things we would have never found. Most importantly they detectected carbon monoxide in our garage from the hot water heater. They not only were they worth the mo ey we invested, but possibly saved our lives. Would refer again without hesitation. they were kind, professional and answered all our questions.

There were extenuating circumstances in our situation. Darrel went above and beyond what would normally be expected to accomplish the job at a more than fair price. Very quick to inspect, and respond to our questions. Very professional. Knowledge in the multifaceted field of home construction, maintenance and repair is a must, and Darrel is an expert in every field it would seem. We are very pleased with the services rendered and are recommending everyone to use this business. If you are looking to buy/invest in a home, the money spent on home inspections is an investment in your future, and a screen against all the things which otherwise would have been subject to Murphy's Law. Not that the unexpected will not happen, and such inspections are not a guarantee; however, with that being said if you use this business you could potentially save yourself thousands of dollars down the line. Going into the buying situation aware, prepared and knowledgeable is worth many times what you will pay in services rendered, even if it turns out to be that what you discover is a deal breaker.
