I found both Lee and Brendan, to be courteous and professional, they were timely and very informative. upon moving into our new home we were totally unprepared to find that our hot water heater was suddenly not working. it was very upsetting. Due to Lee's expertise He was able to determine that our Hot Water Heater was still under warranty, thereby saving us Hundreds of dollars in the process. Such honesty and forthrightness is rare in many trades nowadays and it made our experience with The Unstoppers a very pleasant experience. I am proud to welcome such upstanding professionals into my home, ad heartily recommend them to any one else in need of plumbing services

The unstoppers proved to be both unreliable and unethical. They were scheduled to come out on a Friday and simply said “sorry, we’ll be out next week.” Of greater concern was the work they did. They came to my home to fix a hot water heater (check for a leak). They determined that there was no leak. BUT, after they left, there was no hot water. While they were there, they made several changes / adjustments to the unit. When I called them, they lied, saying that they never touched the unit. They simply refused to come back to fix what they broke. Do yourself a favor: Find another plumber!!!

The tenants in my rental property called Old Repulic Home Warranty because their hot water tank was not working. Old Republic sent Unstoppers Inc. out to the house. The hot water tank was SUPER old, so they replaced it. I did not know any of this was going on until Old Republic called me to authorize charges not covered by the warranty. I did not authorize the charges with the Old Republic because I wanted to speak with the plumber first. He explained the charges to me - $450.00 - and I was just flabbergasted, as I had know idea this work was being done. Cheri Wallace, the daughter of the owner, was also a part of the conversation. She was aghast that the plumber did not call me for authorization before the work was done. Without me having to push this issue, Cheri took immediate initiative in rectifying the situation, and reduced the charges to $150.00 - covering the costs of materials and permit. This action wasn't even requested by me - I didn't even have the chance to. To me, this is the ultimate sign of trust. There aren't many businesses I can trust out there. Most of the time, when I have to have repairs (whether home, car, technology equipment), I am skeptical of diagnoses and the technician's advice for repair. Unfortunately, I have had to write many reviews warning folks to stay away because of bad business practices. But I am HIGHLY IMPRESSED with Unstoppers and their initiative in doing the right thing. I feel this action alone shows integrity and honesty - and that is why I will call them in the future for my plumbing needs. The reason I gave an Overall B is because I wish I had had a phone call to begin with. But if I can give two scores, it would be a B on the original call and an A on the subsequent phone call with Cheri. I gave an N/A on price since the reduction makes the price category null and void in this particular situation. I gave an N/A on punctuality because I wasn't there for the service call.

After viewing the patch job my husband had performed on a Sat they said they would return on Monday to fully fix. Meanwhile we have a restoration company that tore up our floors and is coming back daily to check on the dehumidifiers and fans. Which we are paying for. They never showed up and when I called I was told they would return on Tuesday. They arrived 3 hours late and tried to charge far more than their estimate even though the work performed was less than was originally estimated.

After I showed him the work that needed to be done, new pipes throughout the house, he proceeded to check the house and then had nothing but negative comments about how difficult the job would be. This went on so long I was convinced it was to prepare me for his estimate. He said it would take four men four days at a cost of $5200.00. He did a lot of complaining. The contractor I hired did excellent work and the two men took two and a quarter days. The next day he phoned to see if I had made a decision. I answered the phone to, "Hi Buddy!" Not very professional.

This company should not be in business...period

When my 5-year-old water heater started to leak, I requested service via my home warranty firm, and they assigned The Unstopper to fix the problem. Their communication with me was very good as we planned for this non-emergency service. Jeff in the Unstoppers office was able to plan a convenient time for this non-emergency replacement. Travis was my assigned plumber. He was extremely professional and polite, showing up reliably for the two appointments required. He noted that the water-heater had several installation discrepancies, as it had been placed by a handyman (not a plumber) when someone else owned the home. If there were not the issue of improper installation, my home warranty insurance would have covered the replacement completely. However, I ended up paying $385 in all for specifically-listed deficiencies in pipes, connections and valves. If it had been properly installed, I would have paid only $55 deductible established by the home warranty company. This was the risk I assumed in buying an older home. However, without my home warranty, it would have cost about $850-900. Travis gave me a careful and thorough review of all of the problems and throughout the several hours of his work, he kindly showed me every step, giving me a thorough education about this appliance. He worked neatly, cleaning up beyond the call of duty. He also went the extra mile in re-installing the wallboard which hid the heater in a closet and replacing furniture which had to be moved for the heater exchange. He also took time to show me how to shut off the water to the home (I had no idea) in case of a future major leak. Considering that I received my provider as an unknown from the home warranty firm, I am very pleased with my good luck. I have been spoiled in other service areas by always using Angies List providers who have many A-ratings. I would be happy to use this company's services again and recommend them to others. Based on this water-heater experience, I think they deserve a place on Angies List. And Travis deserves special thanks for making this a very pleasant experience.
