+ -1 moreIf you need appliance repair, they come no better than Carlos Martinez. Late last night I discovered my refrigerator was very hot to the touch, top and sides, especially around the freezer. Carlos had fixed my washer a couple of months ago (works perfectly now), so I called & left a message at 10pm. He called first thing this morning, and although his day was full, managed to squeeze this repair in-between the others. Had it fixed within an hour. Professional, reliable, reasonably priced and prompt… plus a genuinely nice guy!

+ 0 moremr. martinez and his "specialist" diagnosed the problem that i explained to them on the phone. they promised us a next day call to quote the part and installation price, no call back. i called them 2 days later & got a high price quote. we told them "no thanks".

+ -1 moreCarlos diagnosed and efficiently took care of the problem. Refrigerant was off balance with the thermostat settings. He was quick, and knowledgeable. Very professional service.
Description of Work: Refrigerator/Freezer was freezing food in the refrigerator, no matter where the thermostat would be set.

Description of Work: This is the 2nd time I have had Carlos fix an appliance. A few years ago he fixed our refrigerator and all was excellent. This time our dryer was drying properly. He calls and sets appts. right away and is very responsive and honest about what he can and cannot do. He cleaned the dryer and gave instructions on testing it a few times. He explained that he did not have the equipment to clean the vents all the way up the chimney to the 2nd Floor. If the test results showed the dryer working but the long vents preventing the drying, then we would need to hire someone else that has that very long cleaning tool. He is responsive and reasonably priced. I appreciate his honesty in the dryer situation. Thanks very much!

+ -1 moreMy dishwasher was not properly drying dishes. Carlos confirmed that the dishwasher needed a repair but it would be more expensive than buying a new one. He promised to buy and install a new dishwasher. I never heard back. In the absence of a reasonable explanation, I would not use this vendor again or recommend him.

+ -1 moreThis is the second time we used his services. Both times we were very happy with his extra effort. I would highly recommend his services.
Description of Work: We have a stackable washer and dryer. The dryer belt broke. The washer dryer is nearly 20 years old other than the belt breaking it runs great. The belt is no longer manufactured but he left and came back later in the day with a belt that fits the machine. This was a hard to find belt he went the extra effort.

+ 0 moreIt was not installed properly and he broke the knob on the back of the machine. Now it doesn't have enough cold water come in, to bring it to the proper level. He didn't know what he was doing. He didn't even know how to turn off the water to the house to install it. He didn't show up at the right times to right times to try and fix the problem. We thought he was nice at first. But he kept promising things to us that he has never delivered. He provided a warranty, but who knows if it's worth anything?
Description of Work: We purchased a used washing machine from him and had him install it.

+ 0 moreHe could not repair our microwave, but he did get a mircrowave going that we had sitting in the garage. It needed a fuse. So then we had a microwave again.
Description of Work: He tried to repair our microwave but the part would have been to much money to make it worth the bother. So he put in a fuse in another microwave that we had and got it going.

Description of Work: Our dryer stopped in the middle of a cycle. Being new here we tried Angie's List. Carlos had a good reputation and "A" rating. Our neighbor spoke highly of him too. We called and were serviced within a day. Carlos was prompt and knowledgeable. Apparently a belt had broken. The cost was about $110.00. 45 minutes work or so. Wish I was paid that much an hour. We paid it and though it smarted , the drier is back in service! AND he suggested that we not try to dry sneakers and sandels in the dryer. Though he could not pinpoint the relationship, he often finds a connection between footwear in a drier and broken belts. And our belt wasn't even worn! A word to the wise!

+ -1 moreHe is phenomenal. If you need any appliance work done you should call Carlos. He is honest as honest can be. He is also great to have around, he is very friendly and keeps you laughing. My dishwasher is over 20 years old and Carlos keeps it running. He bends over backward to ensure that the work is done correctly the first time. He will always take the time to finish the work properly. I have had over 30 different appliance repair companies work for me before, but Carlos is the only one I would recommend. He truely wants to do a good job for you!
Description of Work: He repaired my dishwasher and washing machine most recently. I have used him in the past and will continue to use him in the future. I only have to pay a co-pay since I am a member of American Home Shield.
