Aventura Nursery

II stopped by Aventura nursery to look at plant life, an employee took my name and said I would get call and someone would be out on Thursday they would call and let me know time. No one called so I called back and they said someone would call me for Saturday appointment which was to have been at 10 and not surpirsing they were going to be late. Finally the owner showed up about an hour late at my home and took pictures of home for landscaping and talked with myself and my two sons as to ideas. He said he would draw up a plan and would get with me beginning of week. I called the following Tuesday afternoon to to make an appointment for myself and one son to see his ideas and an employee said he was at a trade show and wouldn't be back till next week but she had all the pictures of house and would email me plant pictures and such. No email was ever received and not a phone call. I never heard another word from them. It is the worst customer service I've ever had. I Wouldn'tt recommend them to anyone.

Owner came out as previously scheduled to personally give an estimate both times. I visited their nursery to see the plants he recommended. I went with his recommendations both times. The first job went well but several of the plants died the next winter. Company policy: "Sorry, only 90 day warranty." They seemed to know what they were doing, so I had them to a refresh and add more shrubs and plants. Workers did a good job both times, but the plants recommended by the owner just did not hold up. He professed to know about "right plant - right place," but it became obvious that this was not true. A recent phone call to ask him to come out and see the results of his work - and possibly make some changes and repairs - was not returned by the owner. I would not have them do any more work for me, and would not recommend them.

I went to Aventura Nursery & Landscape for the first time and will go back. They were cheaper compared to other stores. They were excellent. It was perfect and I do not know how they keep it so nice. The owner came out and assisted me. I needed some kind of fertilizer and they put it in a small package for me. I go there because they kind of taught me something, so I trust them.

We took a tour of the nursery a couple of weeks ago and were impressed with the selection of trees and plants. Prices, inventory and quality appeared to be competitive for large trees, which we need for our backyard. Our budget is in the $5-10K range for our small yard. Our HOA requires a plan for approval so we called a week ago to make an appointment with their landscape designer, Mike, and were scheduled for Monday, 4/9 at 10AM. We received a call at 9:30 Monday morning from the schedule coordinator to let us know that Mike would not be able to make it and needed to reschedule. We set up a new appointment for Tuesday, 4/10 at the same time. Once again at around 9:45AM on 4/10 we receive a call telling us that Mike was on a job site and could not make it. At this point we had rearranged our schedule two days in a row and chose not to reschedule a third time. To be fair, the woman who had to call us was very nice and apologetic, but we are left wondering what the service would be like after a purchase commitment is signed. It certainly does not bode well for the management of the company. We are disappointed and on the hunt for another landscape designer.
