I dropped my car off in the morning to have the windows tinted. I should have known from the start to go somewhere else. The installer talked me into the upsell by stating that he would hook me up on the price, He stated that the premium tint usually runs $369 but he'd do it for $269. He then quoted me twice the amount to strip my old tinting off than was stated over the phone. Then said he'd "hook me up" on that as well and do it for the original price. So all in all he was "saving" me $135. Then I saw the price sheet that showed the premium tinting was only $299 not the $369 that he was suggesting. When I began to ask the installer about it he said that the stuff he was installing was of better quality. He started getting angry that I was questioning his shady antics. He went so far as to close the garage doors so that others couldn't hear what was being said. I spoke to Eric the business owner and he also said that it was indeed a different product and wasn't sure why he hadn't changed his price sheet. He promised the car would be done when I was to come back at 3:30pm. When I came back the car wasn't finished and was told it would take a little longer since he (the installer) was having a little trouble with the rear glass. On what he said was his 4th attempt, he got angry and slammed his squeegee into the roof of my car. He then screamed a four letter word as he proceeded to rip my rear seat off the bracket. I then stood up and told him he was done and to get out of my car. He said he was sorry and that he would have to finish the car on another day as this was a bad day for him. I told him that I wouldn't be back. I was walking around the car looking at the work he'd done on the rest of the windows and was astonished at how little he cared about what he was doing. None of the lines were straight and he had literally cut one of the corners. He said that he was going to have to charge me something for the work he had done. When I pointed out how poorly of a job he had done he just started peeling everything off. I left wanting to have nothing to do with the company ever again. When I got home I noticed that my rear seat had been bent and was sticking out on one side. So I called Eric to advise him of the situation and to let him know that my seat was damaged. He said he would take care of the seat at his Crestview location and that they would be able to tint my windows for the same price less the cost to strip the glass. I told him I would be by in the morning on Saturday. When I got there I asked what they would be able to do for the back seat the older man said he wasn't going to do anything for my rear seat because he didn't have any tools but that I was supposed to be there at 8:00am so that he could tint the windows. The younger guy that worked there was great though and went to a neighboring shop to borrow some tools and at least looked at it. He pulled off the seat and tried to make it fit right. The foam was torn and the frame was bent so nothing could be done for it. He at least tried. I had heard from others that this was a reputable shop, however my experience with them has led me to believe otherwise. Shady price structure and tactics, poor craftsmanship and terrible customer service. I never called Eric back to tell him about the rear seat because I feel it would be a waste of time and breath. Needless to say I went elsewhere to have the car tinted. Richard at Emerald Coast tinting has been great. He's done a phenomenal job on both of my vehicles.
