 + -1 moreOnce the bathroom was prepped, Bob from Nu Shine arrived. He had previously given me a quote of $1007 to repair and coat all the tile and tub. I had received another quote that was almost identical. Bob spent several hours prepping the tile and discovered a line of 10 hairline cracked tiles that needed repair. We discussed this and I agreed to another $100 for his time to repair this tile. If you are considering this type of project, be advised that there will be a strong chemical smell from the very beginning as acetone, epoxy and other products are used. The smell in my house lingered for a day or so. Bob used a ventilation fan with a flexible duct to blow the air out of the bathroom while he was spraying. He worked late into the evening and clearly was concerned that his work was of good quality. The bathroom came out beautifully.
Description of Work: I have a 1964 bathroom with a pink standard size tub and matching pink 4x4 wall tile that runs around the entire bathroom. The tub was dull from years of use, there were drill-holes in the tile from installed grabber bars and the tile had some hairline cracks. I wanted the tile repaired and the tub and tile coated in white. To prepare for the work, I removed the tub drain fitting and other trim hardware from the bathroom. There were two plastic towel bars that wired tiled-into the wall with ceramic tile ends. These had to be cut out and white spring-loaded replacements were found at Home Depot. I removed an old tile floor and installed a mosaic tile floor.

 + -1 moreI am just amazed at Bobs attention to detail and follow through. We were preparing our home for sale and had a cracked spa tub. It took a lot of time and work to get it repaired, but by the time he was done with all our resurfacing, it was a totally new bathroom. The quality of his work is unmatched! I had contacted another company for a quote which was a nation wide company. They did not show up several times due to disorganization in their office. I was thankful I hired Bob to do the job and will be recommending him often! He was sensitive to our time and our concerns, and gave above and beyond!

 + 0 moreBob repaired tiles that were drilled for a glass shower door and hairline cracks. He refinishing the sunshine yellow with black trim tile and same color tub in a beautiful white. It looked beautiful. During the course of our remodel contractors damaged the finish of the tub and a couple of tiles. Bob returned today and repaired both good as new. We could not be happier.

Description of Work: Refinishing 1950's tub that had been refinished twice before. Due to heavy staining, a partial stripping and drain repair was completed due to erosion and rust around drain. Added non-skid coating to the tub floor. The tub looks awesome.

 + -1 moreIt's brand new, absolutely brand new. It was in really bad shape. The paint was peeling off and stuff from a lousy job that was done a couple of years ago and he did it right. He also repaired some damage on a second tub that we have at a very reasonable price. So, now I have two tubs. That's wonderful. He was a little early. He called to let me know that he was on the way and to make sure that it was okay. He is very very professional. He knows what he is doing. He takes real pride in his work. There was nothing that could have been done differently. We chose him from Angie's List based on reviews. Originally, I had spoken to Jean about coming out to do a quote. It was hard for him to get here because he services a very large area. I wanted to get the work done. So, I booked it, just based on her professionalism on the phone, the estimates given on the phone and the reviews from Angie's List. I have no regrets. It was perfect.

 + -1 moreThey did an excellent job. So many people have said that the tile doesn't even look painted--that it looks like original tile. The tub looks brand new as well, and is very easy to clean. Bob was very polite and professional. He even fixed a problem with our toilet that had existed from the prior owner. He discovered the problem when he removed the toilet, because he pays attention to details--not the kind of guy who just paints around the toilet. In addition, and most importantly, they did the work really quickly, all within two days! They worked really hard. Finally, the company itself great to work with. The lady (can't remember her name) who schedules appointments is so nice and easy to talk to, AND WHAT A REASONABLE PRICE!

 + -1 moreBob arrived on time and spent the entire day sanding, priming and painting the bathtub. He made sure that no spray from the paint would get on anything else in the bathroom. This required a lot of preparation before he could get to work. He also recommended a color he thought would best match the other fixtures. He had to return the next day to finish the job; it was worth the wait as I am extremely pleased with the result. I would hire him again.
Description of Work: Re-glazed a bathtub that had become rusty and very ugly. Do not use caustic cleaners - they will take off t he finish and the standing water in the tub (even though it drains) will rust and pit the finish. Do not let a bathmat sit in the tub - take it out when not being used. This will cause mold and prevent the water from draining.

Description of Work: I contacted NuShine to do a repair. An appointment was set two weeks in advance for the repair at the cost of $45. Approximately a week after making the arrangements with my tenant I was informed by the woman working in the office they wanted the money up front. I explained I was uncomfortable with that arrangement but gave her my email and I instructed her to email me the invoice. I never received an email and figured she had decided to mail the invoice. Since I had confirmed my email with her I didn't give it another thought. The day prior to the work being done my tenant left three messages to confirm the appointment. She never received a return call. On the day of the scheduled appointment she took off from work expecting to have the tub repaired. No one showed, no one called and they have not returned her call or mine to find out what happened. The only reason I can come up with is that they did not receive their $45 in advance which was due to the woman in the office not emailing a bill to me. I feel this was very selfish and inconsiderate of this company. It cost my tenant time and money.

 + -1 moreThese people were very pleasant to deal with right from the initial phone call. Bob, the tech, who re-finished the tub was very expereinced and has been doing this type of work a long time. He was very neat, covered everything and left no mess behind. He applied a non-slip bottom to the tub at my request at an additional cost. He matched the original color perfectly .The tub looks amazing, better than it did 10 years ago when it was new. Bob will remove the old chrome drain if possible so it can be re-finished under it. Some of the really old tubs it might be difficult or impossible to remove it. I bought a tool to see if it could be removed ahead of the re-finish in case he could not get it out and then I would call a plumber ahead of time to get it removed. Great job happy customer.
