I used this company to clean and sealing deck around our pool. I greatly appreciated the specific written instructions regarding what to expect. The deck looks like a magazine picture; excellent service and work. The guys even helped me move the fire pit. Would certainly use this company again.

Hired Island Way Clean and Seal to fix a botched paver sealing job another contractor did on my travertine pool deck. I wish I hired them in the first place, my travertine pavers have never looked better and they were very professional, thorough, friendly, and communicated excellently throughout the entire process. They werent the lowest bid but they were well worth it. I have already recommended them to my neighbors who have just hired them also. These guys are the real deal. Thanks again!

I have used this company twice now for cleaning, sanding and resealing the deck around my pool. It is a rather large surface area and both times, the work has been flawless. The first time I had it done lasted about 5 years. The deck looks good as new! The company was easy to work with, good communication and reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend this company to others!

I hired Island Way Clean and Seal to seal my new travertine pool deck, and the whole process was great! Everyone was polite, knowledgeable, and easy to work with! Everything looks perfect.

They sent me this threatening letter the day after they sealed my travertine and I complained. I am a contractor. I never requested a refund or even thought about not paying them because I believe in working things out. What they did wrong is used wet look sealer on my travertine when I specifically requested a natural - not wet, look. That was agreed upon and specifically written in the contract he gave me. When I complained about getting the wrong sealer, He and his office lady said I never requested the non-wet look sealer, which is a lie. I have it in writing on 2 different documents including the contract, and he wrote it! So, the next day after the sealer was applied, when they found I was not happy and told them the job was not done professionally, I received this letter: (You will not believe this letter, it is bad.) - My comments in (...) Mr. O, We seal almost 1 million square feet of travertine each year, so we know what we are doing, and do not appreciate you insulting our company, employees, and reputation. Now, we completed the work exactly as contracted and were very upfront and honest with you. You had an entire year to change your mind about the product or send suggestions, but you did not. (Not sure what this means.) You were initially happy when our technicians were finished there, but once the bill was sent, you seemed to quickly change your mind, finding all sorts of things to complain about. (I could not see it until the next morning, It was late and still wet.) (It never crossed my mind to not pay them.) When we spoke earlier today, I very politely listened to your concerns and I could tell you were unhappy with the result, so we nicely offered to come out and apply more product/non-slip to try and make you happy. (They offered to make it more glossy!) After you refused, we offered to take money off of the bill to make you happy, and you told me whatever I thought was fair. At the time it seemed like you wanted a discount, not that you were not going to pay at all. However, it is coming across as such, now that you are sending emails stating again how unhappy you are, have left a bad review, but still have not paid. Please answer honestly, are you refusing to pay your bill? ( She is making this all up in her mind. I never said anything about getting a discount or not paying and never even entertained the idea. ) As a local small business we do not want to walk away from this without payment for services rendered, so we are respectfully giving you until 4pm today, 5/3/22, to do the reasonable thing and pay the balance due with the discount. Otherwise, you force us to begin the process of sending the bill for the original full amount to our favorite collections agency, while also placing a mechanics lien on your property to ensure we get payment for services rendered. From there, we will legally not be allowed to continue any conversation with you once that process has begun, and they will be reaching out daily until they collect the full amount plus additional fees/charges. What we have seen happen is those who refuse to cooperate with them eventually get served with a lawsuit for nonpayment, and it is several times more expensive/painful for you to go this route. Personally, I would prefer if you just paid your bill and we go our separate ways forever, but it is up to you. So, are you going to pay your bill today or not? That is all we really need to know at this point. Thank you, (Wow!)

Based on the glowing reviews of Island Way Clean and Seal, I selected them to clean and reseal our pavers. Initially, I was pleased. Yet in a few weeks my pavers had a grayish blackish discoloration. Contacting Evan Hidalgo, the President and Founder of the company, and requesting he personally inspect the pavers to determine the cause, Evan stated it would cost him thousands of dollars to be out of the office. He suggested we get the pavers pressure washed, so we scheduled his crew to do the pressure washing, at our expense. The pressure washing and even full-strength muriatic acid failed to remove the discoloration. Evan offered no further resolution. After extensive time, research, and personal inspection by various companies with guesstimates as to the cause of the problem, I had the pavers stripped by a very reputable, full-service contractor, of the sealer applied by Island Way and reseal them. Immediately the pavers looked, and continue after over 2 months, to look like they did when first installed. In written contact with Evan regarding the final resolution of our pavers by stripping and resealing, I clarified that our paver issue was the result of improper mixing and/or application and requested a refund of the initial cost with Island Way. I did not request any monies for my expense of stripping and resealing the pavers. While Evan contended it was NOT his companys fault, he did indicate he would work with me if after 5 weeks (same time frame as the original issue with pavers occurred) pictures showed the problem had not reoccurred. Yet, when I sent the before and after pictures that clearly showed both the grayish blackish discoloration and the pristine condition of our pavers 2 months after stripping and sealing, Evan blamed the problem on a prior guesstimate of algae, accused me of harassing him, and made no attempt to work with me. Of all the companies and even the manufacturer of the product, Island Way (Evan) was the only company that did NOT personally inspect the pavers to address the problem. This is a person who is only remotely involved in his business. Any issues or problems with the work are immediately the homeowners problem to handle and resolve. Evan takes no interest or responsibility on issues with pavers once his crew leaves and he is paid. He never made a personal inspection, as requested, and he indicated he would, work with me, but did not. Clearly these demonstrate the lack of integrity on his part and that of his business. Based on my personal experience, I do not recommend Island Way Clean and Seal. A costly lesson learned!

Pete did a great job. Evan follows up to make sure the job is done to your satisfaction. Very easy to do business with from start to finish. Would definitely recommend!

These guys are the real deal. The process started by reaching out to Evan and scheduling an appointment. I sent him the photo of our backyard and they were out within the week. Pete came and left within 3.5 hours and left the backyard spotless, he even took off some of the rust that was on the patio and wall of our house. I asked for our patio to not be as shiny since we were going for a rougher look and he took care of that. Couldn't recommend them enough!

Did a good job

Evan cleaned and sealed my 35+ year-old river gravel patio, pool deck and home entryway. I am extremely satisfied with the result. Evan is a no-nonsense, knowledgeable hard worker. He uses only the highest-grade cleaning and sealant materials. He was not my lowest price choice, but the end-result was excellent.

On time, came out very nice

Island Way sealed our stamped concrete deck. He was professional and better yet he was on time. I watched the process and know that he covered our entire deck with 2 coats of sealant. Yet, there was one area that gave the appearance of not having sufficient sealant. It was dull and lacked the luster of the rest of the deck. Upon notification, Evan set a return date and time. He applied additional sealant to the dull area and better yet he was again on time. I plan to use this company again.

Nice person, work done quickly, pool deck looks the best ever. Only drawback was I have to put back furniture and planters since sealer has to dry overnight. My only issue is I wish I knew in advance so it could be included up front in negotiations. He did offer when asked but I would have to pay again for second guy. Considering them for additional work so not too upset.

Evan was great! I appreciated his efficient use of technology to estimate my job without me having to take time off work to meet with him. Poor guy had barely started when our water was shut off! Turns out the city was around the corner working on a pipe. He was kind enough to hang around in case it was turned back on quickly. Luckily it was and my 14 year old paver deck now looks amazing. He was professional, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. Thanks, Evan! When my boyfriend got home he was pleased with how the deck looked, too!

The guy that came and washed, sanded and sealed my brick pavers did an excellent job for a very fair price. Highly recommend island way clean and seal
