Five Star Painting of Pinellas County

My husband and I just had Five Star Painting in Seminole 33765 do the painting of our exterior house April 8, 2024. Four years ago the company did the entire interior of our home. They did such an excellent job that we contacted them again to paint the exterior. My husband and I were impressed with the quality of service and workmanship from the Services Estimator, Sherry the Operations Manager, Harry Rumper and the painters. The painters arrived early every morning, worked hard focusing on the job on hand, were very polite, confirmed with us as to the colors of trim etc. The two men worked continuously and paid great attention to detail. The did a beautiful job on our exterior house painting. Very neat, cleaned up after working and were a pleasure to deal with. We strongly recommend this company if you are looking for painters. They are very respectful, and take pride in their work,

Excellent - From initially working with Cody Five Star Pinellas' Estimator, to the supervisor and the guys actually doing the painting, all were professional, polite, and detail focused. The work got done quickly, even moving up the date when they had an opening.

Nicest people I've worked with in a long time. They did an excellent job. Gave me a fare price and a detailed estimate so I could decide which parts I wanted painted and exactly how much it would cost, and so I knew exactly what they were going to do. Followed through with everything they said they would do and were very patient with me while I made some changes and compared some colors. My house looks beautiful. Can't thank them enough. I will use this company for other work and would happily recommend them.

From the beginning we were impressed with the detailed estimate we received. Lonnie did all of the work himself, and his attention to detail was remarkable. We have old windows with small panes that were surrounded by rusty metal frames. He took great effort to get those windows- and the rusty railing along the steps- into beautiful condition. He also was punctual, and communicated with us as needed. He also did a great job cleaning up afterwards. We are thinking of hiring Five Star for some inside work. We highly recommend this company.

Everything went well, I was very pleased. Sherry, Mike and Dan were easy to work with, they kept me informed on timing. The crew was always on time. I would definitely use them again.

My husband and I purchased our house in late 2017, I loved everything except the color, we contracted with 5 Star in April of this year and I am extremely happy that we did!! Our experience from start to finish was flawless...they started on a Monday, rained out on Tuesday but still finished by early Friday. Our Painter was Henry and he was AMAZING!! Very professional and courteous..if you are looking for a quality job by quality people this is your company.

Out of 3 quote request appointments Five Star was the only company to show up. I was given a great quote. I chose my color from sample at a Sherman Williams store as that is the product they use. My job was done in 2 days and everything is immaculate!

One story 3/2 house w/2 car garage. Existing paint job was 20+ years old. 5 Star was one of three bids I got, doing references on all three. I am extremely satisfied with the work performed. Of particular importance to me was the attention to detail, which was excellent. The painter pointed out some problems that I wasn't aware of, such as a need to caulk in corners previously overlooked. Very much appreciated. My house looks great!

Some good, some bad. My next door neighbor used them. I wondered why my quote was so much higher than what my neighbor paid, but recalled that I was promised more coats. She had one coat allowed. However I recalled that two coats were sold to me as “spray/roll” then “spray/roll” again. But in fact the painter only did one “spray/roll” and told me that counted as two coats. On the plus side the paint job looks good. They did a good job approximating the old colors, making several trips out to apply samples. They did a good job applying elastomeric caulk to the stucco cracks. They also came back to touch things up after the main work was done. However about two weeks after their second short touch up visit I needed to touch up around a door that was installed after the paint job was done. I found a paint brush floating in the 5-gallon paint bucket, left there by a fivestar employee after their second 5 minute touch up visit. I have been unable to imagine a scenario in which this was accidental. The paint job looks good. So whoever you hire just be sure you get the number of coats straight before the job starts. You shouldn’t have to ask them not to leave paint brushes floating in the leftover paint bucket.

I can't say enough good things about this company. They were very professional from start to finish and did excellent work. Our 45-year old house looks like new! The estimator (Henry) did a thorough job and provided a detailed estimate. The production manager (Mike) made sure we would be happy by meeting with us in advance (and bringing us color samples--that was a big help!), checking in throughout the work and overseeing every detail of the job. The painter (Lonnie) was amazing--he worked hard and did an absolutely beautiful job. We would use them again (and recommend them) without hesitation.

Previous owner had painted latex over oil-based paint which eventually caused lots of flaking which was too labor-intensive for us to tackle. Five Star sanded the surface, applied an oil-based primer and oil-based top coat. The kitchen cabinets are original to our 1923 home and run floor to ceiling; we were happy to find someone willing to take on the job. The two employees were on time, courteous and eager to please. The estimator, Harry, was thorough in his explanation of the work & oversaw the job. The job took about 2.5 days. The oil-based paint did create an strong odor but we chose it for durability; we ventilated and let everything sit for 4 days before putting things back in the cabinets. Our only suggestion is that they do a more thorough job of covering the floor, putting plastic up over doorways and covering the countertops as the flaking paint migrated and is difficult to remove from surfaces.

Project manager showed up on time, 2 painters worked diligently all day and did a fantastic job! Plus were delightful and only took one day, instead of the day and a half initially anticipated for the work.

Five Star Painting did an excellent job painting my relatively large two-story house. Sherwin Williams paint over SW Loxon. It took a few days but that was not their fault since it rained practically every day. Harry and Tim were in constant contact with me keeping me updated on progress. I never spoke with Sherry but no doubt could have but really never needed to. It was not an easy job as I have faux brick on half the house and so the grout had to be painted gray and each individual brick painted white. After the painters finished, I did a walk around and noted some minor touchup spots and Tim came out and took care of them pronto. They did a real good job at a fair price. I had other quotes 20% more than theirs. Would definitely use them again.

The painter, Steven, arrived on time every day, was very good getting things ready to paint. Very neat. He is a very good painter and particular, as is Sherry. I am so pleased with the work and the price, they did a beautiful job. Couldn't ask for more. I found out about Sherry through a friend who had used her company to paint her house. I would recommend them to anybody I know, for painting. I had the exterior of my house done, and from the first pressure washing to prepping the house, to the last stroke of paint. they did an outstanding job. It looks beautiful, and I would recommend them to anyone I know. I am very pleased with the results. This is such a great feeling, as I have never had any work done, where everything went so well. It went faster and better than we had dreamed it would! Two and a half days and BAM finished and looked beautiful!

My contacts with Protect Painters was one of the best "contracting" experiences I have had in 21 years in my current home. I had never heard of them before and they were one of three potential contractors referred from a home improvement web-site. I was impressed from the very first appearance of Sherry Armentrout to give me an estimate. She was extraordinarily punctual, called ahead before each contact to confirm meetings, etc. She did accurate measurements, laid out the services to be performed and quoted a reasonable and what I thought was a very fair price, paint and materials included. She even provided a consult with a decorator to ensure the wall colors selected would match furniture, etc. We had to split the job in half in half when a new window installation revealed wall damage from water that required some significant repairs and new flooring. Sherry worked with us to insure a timely response to get the job done as quickly as possible so we could get our house back in order. We were one-time smokers so the paint job required significant effort to mitigate old stains. After the office was completed, with a change from dark blue walls to a much lighter color, outlines from where pictures had previously been hung began to bleed through, a factor of the previous smoking in the room. Sherry's response was to return immediately and arrange for additional wall prep and painting, no questions asked. In fact her overriding comment throughout the process was that she wanted us to be happy with the completed project - she was as good as her word. Her painter, "Harry" was also very punctual, went to great lengths to protect windows, doors, furniture, etc. He wasted no time on the job and worked continuously - very efficient and effective. The job is now complete and my wife in particular loves the new look. We feel very fortunate that we got lucky enough to come into contact with protect painters. They were impressive from start to finish and I am not one to hand out praise idly. They were "good" with a capital "G". We will absolutely use them for any and all future projects and I have no hesitation in recommending them. I've even offered to have Sherry send potential clients to our home to look at the job they did for us. In my book they earned "A-Plus grades for price, quality of work and customer service - we couldn't have asked for more.
