Our realtor recommended Andy to inspect a home we are purchasing. He arrived on time and was very professional. He spent 6 hours at the house going over everything. When he completed the inspection, he presented us with a 47 page report of his findings. He reviewed the report with us and explained all the pictures, comments and recommendations. There were a couple of areas that he suggested be checked out by a structural engineer. We did so and showed Andy's report to the engineer. Even the engineer was impressed. Thankfully, the structure was fine but we were happy Andy raised it as a concern so we could be sure. Andy was great to work with and we would recommend him to anyone we know who needs a home inspection.

American Heritage came out to inspect the home I was buying, which we are currently in. I feel they rushed the inspection and did not do a thorough job since I could not be there to watch them. Their report was very basic. They included things that anyone would have noticed. This was my fourth home purchase so I know what to expect. I assumed that they would do the job correctly. I guess that is what happens when you put too much trust in someone and you assume things. They completely missed the fact that there was a water stain in the ceiling of the toilet room in the master bathroom. We all had noticed a little water on the floor during the walk through but just thought it had just been cleaned or something. "Or something is right"!!! There was a major water leak in the roof just above that area. The roof repair guy we hired to fix the problem said it was obvious and could not believe a "Home Inspector" could have missed this. It has been repaired but now we are suffering from mold issues. Our HEALTH is now on the line. This inspection was not done to our satisfaction. I had numerous calls to C.B. Moore and he is refusing to correct anything. He has not even had the common courtesy to meet with me in person to solve the issue. On the front page of his web site ( http://www.ameritagehomeinspect.com ) at the bottom he states that if we are not happy or satisfied with the inspection, the inspection is free. He has not even offered what his web site promisses. That is POOR bussiness and is unacceptable. Can not be trusted. The worst thing is, the associate of his that did the inspection and came out to reinspect admitted to me that he had missed it. And then lied to me saying he could not reach that part of the roof or attic, complete lie. I would like this matter to be resolved, but I know that they will not do a thing. So I write this review so that others will not get taken advantage of, like we did. Shame on the trust factor. Never again. Can't trust anyone in the realestate world.

American Heritage did a great job for us. Their work saved us thousands of dollars in the future. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
Description of Work: Inspected new home construction at the pre-drywall stage. Checked actual construction to blueprints & found numerous defects in workmanship, which were brought to the attention of the contractor & were repaired. If it weren't for the inspections we would not have known about the detects and our builder would not have repaired them. Showed up on time & did a thorough inspections of our new home. Inspector found many defects we were not aware of. If you need a home inspection, this is the company to call. Keep up the good work & service!
