Description of Work: I had two other a/c people out to find a leak in my pool heat pump. They did nothing but add freon and the next day it was all gone. Tommy Hays was called and he found the leak after putting some dye in the lines. The next day Tommy Hays fixed the leak and all has been fantastic. Tommy took the time to actually find the leak and did not charge us an arm and a leg to fix the problem. I have also recommended him to friends and he has taken care of them as well. He does not have a fancy truck with a wrap sign but he is the man. I also have used him to fix two rental air conditioner units. Others told me I should just replace. Not Tommy, he fixed them for a fare price.

Here in Tampa, even in December, it can get hot. During the night I woke up in a sweat, and found that despite having my thermostat set to 74 degrees, the temperature in the house was 80. The air was coming out of the vents, but it wasn't cold. I took a flashlight and went outside in the dark to check on the external portion of the unit. What I discovered was that the unit was making an audible humming sound, but the fan wasn't turning at all. I went back in the house, shut off the A/C, and opened the windows since it was cooler outside than in the house. The next morning I called Tommy Hays. He had done some work for us in the past and seemed to be a reputable A/C repair man. Within an hour Mr. Hays was at my home and less than 45 minutes later my air conditioner was back up and running. Mr. Hays had to take the unit apart to locate the problem. As it turned out, there was a damaged wire inside the unit that caused the fan to stop working. The wire was touching a moving part inside the unit, and it had finally worn through, causing the fan motor to quit. Tommy repaired the damaged wire and secured it and some other loosely installed wires so that they would not become damaged again. Since no parts were required, he simply charged me $75 for a service call. I would definitely trust Mr. Hays to work on my A/C again in the future.
Description of Work: Repaired the external portion of our A/C unit, restored the fan in the air conditioner to working condition, allowing our central air conditioning system to blow cold air again.
