WINDOW WORLD OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

My mother a 73-year-old widow of a 100% disabled veteran purchased a window for her living room which was installed in April of 2019. After several months the sheet rock around the window started becoming soft and she requested that they come in and inspect it. The inspector blamed the damage on the roof and not the window so my mother looked into getting the roof replaced. Of course, the roofer was happy to replace the roof and my mother had the work done hoping to solve the problem. After the roof was replaced my mother noticed the problem still existed. She once again had window world come out to inspect and they again blamed it on the roof. Since the sheet rock was soft for over six months by this point my brother and I removed the sheet rock from the wall concerned that there could be mold that would make my mother sick. After the sheet rock was removed, we could see that water was getting in from the window after it had rained and once again called in window world to inspect. The first inspector that came over stilled claimed it was not the window but then the owner came over to inspect and he determined that the window frame was cracked, this was approximately in June 2020. They ordered a new window and finally got around to installing it 16 Sep 2020. When they installed it they broke her marble window sill, so they took it with them and said they would order a new one and replace it. Since the sheet rock was still down when I got a chance to come over and see the new window, I noticed that they had not replaced the wooden border around the window which had rotted due to all the water over the last year. My other brother who was washing the house sprayed some water and we saw that water was still coming in. Window World returned and said the new frame was also bad and that they would get another one. They also promised to replace the rotted wood around the window frame this time. December 2020, Window World finally gets around to installing my mothers now third window in her living room and replaces the wood border during the install. No leaking from the window which is a positive thing. When asked about replacing the sheet rock around the window they say not our responsibility. When asked about the marble window sill they first say, what window sill, then say they are ordering it, then say what window sill, then say they are ordering it again. Got ahold of them once in shortly after new years and they say it will be scheduled to be installed in about two weeks. No contact since then, my mother and I have called several times, when they do answer (which is not often and usually when we use a phone not recognized as one of ours (my work phone)) we get a promise that they will handle it personally and will get a call back before the end of the week. So almost two years since the first window install my mother has had a roof replaced, Mold growing behind her wall, no sheet rock on her walls for almost a year, her window installed two more times and can’t get her window sill back from them. What a deal! This business is a joke, they don’t take responsibility for their poor workmanship, don’t follow up with their customers, don’t call back when they promise to and take months to get anything fixed if they do acknowledge fault. Do yourself a favor and find a different company to install your window. The owner also owns the one in Sarasota so one of their tactics is to say he is out there and all decisions have to go through him causing further delay. Buyer beware!

It took 2 months for the windows to arrive from the factory and 3 more weeks to get them installed. However, The windows are terrific, great quality and well built. The installation was flawless. The installers were pros and went right to work and had the job done in less than 2 hours. The windows look like they have always been there. Great caulking job. I gave the sales process a C for professionalism because the first salesman that came to my house only quoted me a much more expensive line of windows. He did not mention they had a lower price line available. I happened to meet the manager at a Home Show a few months later and he immediately quoted me a much less expensive window but with the same qualities as the other. The manager came to my house a few days later and I signed the papers. To summerize, I love the windows and the installation, but you need to make sure you are getting the best price. Their 2nd quote was by far the best price I had seen after checking at least 4 other window companies.

The installer's quality of work deteriorated as the day wore on. I noticed that the window sashes were not square and contacted owner the next day. Five of the largest windows were the major problem and I had three screens broken during installation. The company ordered all new sashes for the larger windows to be replaced. A few weeks later the company service rep came out to replace the sashes by himself and could not do it to the of the weight of the windows and a balancer broke (due to a poor design). The next step was to have the rep from AMI come out and replace the broken balancer. I asked the owner if the AMI rep had to remove the sashes to replace the balancers and he said yes, so I said to wait until he arrived and replace all the sashes and poor designed balancers at the same time. Unfortunately, the AMI rep is only in the area every 4 to 6 weeks, and I was due to be back it IL when he was to arrive. In our conversations over the phone, that day he said that company policy was only to replace only the broken balancers. He also decided not to replace the sashes that day. When I got back to FL I called the local company trying to resolve this problem since day one. He came out again and decided to have the AMI rep come out again and work on the windows. Another 4 to 6 weeks. This time I was there and tried to help the AMI rep. We replaced the worst sash and found out my problems still exist. scheduled another appointment with the owner and final determination is that the installer installed windows that were not square into an opening that is not square and the window frames are too big to square up due to the lack of adjustable room. The only way to possible repair is to replace the entire windows with slightly smaller windows. The owner did not seem to want to go that direction and I was tired of fighting the problem It took over a year to get my screens repaired and now my window reveal is slanted. Throughout this entire process, the owner rarely called me back in a reasonable time unless I called hin to follow up. I even emailed Window World corporate in the fall complaining about the poor service. Corporate said that the local company was very good and will take care of the problem.I think that my biggest mistake was to believe because the company was nationwide and the franchise was local that my problem would be resolved.

The windows are wonderful. The installers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The existing window frames (many newly painted or new sills) were not marred or damaged in any way. The work was neat and completed in less than 2 days. After installing plugs that were left for post inspection, we were unable to close one of the windows. WW responded immediately to fix it ? taking it out and releasing the plugs that jammed it. We are awaiting the replacement of one screen that was scratched and one missing screw. The cost was higher than we anticipated and the wait time was longer than originally assumed, probably due to the unusual arched windows that were needed for two of the rooms. But we are extremely pleased with the results.

They did a professional installation and we are happy with the quality of the windows. 1yr later one window had a type of sun burn color in it. We called, they took the serial number, ordered the new sash and installed the new window within 2 weeks. No charge it was covered by the life time warranty. Very pleased.

I first called Window World to make an appointment to purchase a new front entry door. Blaine Underwood came to my house and showed me the doors that were available to install through a catalogue. I chose a white Fiberglass door. It was on order for a month and a half, I called Blaine from time to time to ask when the order has come through. He did eventually called me back and the door was ready, and when the installers came to fit the door, the door needed to be cut down a little bit inorder to fit the door in the opening. I waited about 2 weeks and then the installers came back and the door fit and made a few adjustments and I was very happy with my new door. I would call Window World for the other door I would like to be replaced.

We were originally disappointed due to the wrong windows being ordered. However the company has corrected the mistake and although we had to wait longer than we had anticipated we are very happy with the windows that have been installed.

They ordered the wrong windows so on the day of installation after we had moved furniture, taken down curtains and blinds the installers arrived with the wrong windows. We waited 2 1/2 hours for a return phone call from the salesman or the company. Then we waited all day for another call with answers which never came so my husband had to call them again. Mistakes happen... it is how a company treats you after a mistake that tells its character. They avoided calling or contacting us with how and when the correct windows would be installed.

Very Poor! The workers doing the work were very unprofessional in appearance and the way they acted. When removing old windows, instead of taking time to carefully remove windows, they simply broke out glass and hardly picked up any of the broken glass outside. Also, it took over 5 months for the company to complete all of the "punch list" items from the installation. Any action took numerous phone calls, letters, e-mails or faxes to get anything done.
