The Maids of Sarasota

I called this company and received an estimate to clean my 2,500sqft 3 bed 3 bath plus den & office home that is already in clean condition. The estimate was $216-$324 but she said they would provide me with the set total upon arrival once “condition” was observed. She said the maids service included vacuum, mopping, dusting, wiping kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, cleaning sliders inside and out plus tracks. The only service not provided was organizing and laundry. I said I was looking for a deep clean with most important being things I don’t normally do such as dusting/sliders. When the maids arrived (Pink Team) they said it would be over $500 to clean everything. I Was shocked, in my mind after being given the range of 216-324 I thought it would fall within this range to do all the tasks she listed on the phone that are typically included in any clean. Note my house is in Very Good “condition”/clean already. I chose to take off two of the three bedrooms to keep it at the $324 range.The maids finished after 1 hour and 20 mins and did a poor job overall. I paid $324 to have them mop, vacuum, half clean my three bathrooms, half clean my kitchen, and barley clean the slider tracks on the inside only. They did not wipe my dining room table, did not wipe my kitchen island, did not dust baseboards, my coffee table, or windowsills in bathrooms. They did not wipe kitchen cabinets. They did not clean the laundry room sink/floors. They cleaned the floor in the office and den but didn’t wipe desk,ECT.. Did not vacuum our closets in our master bedroom. The maid came to get me from outside to say they were done and for me to check that everything was okay. The floors were soaking wet and she was half way out the door so I didn’t have time to examine and didn’t want to walk all over wet floors. So they left. I called the company immediately after they left to report my experience. She asked if I wanted them to return and I said no. I said this would make me feel uncomfortable as the lead cleaner was already rude/rushing and there was a language barrier. I said I would just clean it myself and not use the company again and that they need to be more clear with their pricing when booking. The maids (4 people) showed back up at my front door repeatedly knocking and jiggling my door handle trying to open the door-who does this? I didn’t want to answer but they weren’t leaving so I answered and they came inside and wiped the dining table and mopped the laundry room floor in two minutes while on the phone speaking in Spanish and left. This was an extremely uncomfortable situation and unprofessional to go against my request to not return. When I was already starting to clean it myself. Three of the four maids did not wear shoe coverings and walked throughout our home in their sneakers. We do not wear shoes in our house ever and this was very off putting as I’m sure they walk through dirty homes. Overall this was a terrible experience and unless you feel like throwing your money in the trash I’d stay far away from this company. Apparently $324 gets you the bare minimum. Photos attached for proof. I wish I could post videos. Update: The company offered me $100 to remove my review and didn’t take any accountability for their poor service. I’m sure this is the reason that they have mostly “good reviews”. I said that was not enough, I wanted half refunded to remove the review or I’d take the $100 and the review stays. They said they would get back to me and never did.. However I’d like to save the next person from making a mistake so I’m okay with not getting the $100 they offered.

Very good. Quick and efficient. They worked around as we were still in the house.

they did a fine job. 4 ladies were in and out in less than 2 hours. I thought they are expensive.

I sent a message to several cleaning companies explaining what I was looking for. Even though I didn't fit The Maids of Sarasota's business model, they responded so nicely and quickly anyway. I get very frustrated with service providers not responding (providers I work with or want to hire) so it's refreshing to encounter such professionalism.

The Maids in Sarasota is a well-managed company that I have employed for the past 8 years or so to clean my home every two weeks. They send a team of three or four, and take about an hour and a half for a good cleaning. I have always been very pleased with their performance, and would recommend them to anyone else, no matter the size of their house.

Very well. I've using this service for at least five years, and have had almost no problems. I have them come every two weeks. They send a team of three or four, and are done in under two hours. I'm very pleased with their work.

They did a wonderful job, they are a little expensive. I paid 532 for 3 hours with 4 ladies, one lady that was down stairs missed a few things.

My Parent's could not have been more pleased by the quality of the work that was throughout their home. The team brought their own cleaning supplies and took care of business while my Dad, stayed outside on the lanai with the dogs. According to my Parent's the house remained cleaned for a period of 2.5-weeks. Due to the rave reviews by both my Mom & Dad, I will most definitely hire The Maids once more.

They were fine. It was good they were very professional, they did a very good job, they are reliable, they were great.

I have been using The Maids for several years. Their service is consistent and done well. The thing I like best is they send a team of 4 to clean and the place is done in 90 minutes. Since I work from home, this is a big plus. They are courteous and if I ask for anything additional it is done without hesitation. Also, they phone the day before with a one-hour window of arrival and are always on time.

Customer Service is excellent. Very happy with service.

Four Maids arrived at my front door with smiles on their faces! Each put on shoe covers and went immediately to their designated spot and began cleaning. This was the first time they had been to my home. They dusted EVERYTHING (including pictures and ceiling fans), cleaned all counters, floors, appliances, inside windows, balcony glass doors . . . I'm sure I've forgotten something. The products used do not leave a bad smell. They did a GREAT job.

The service was wonderful. I would recommend as well as use this company again.

This was a new house and I offered to provide Goof Off for them to remove any paint on stray surfaces. There was quite a bit of paint and they worked diligently on it. Their energy level was high and consistent. They also cleaned to an even higher level of perfection than I had in my background. Baby oil was used on stainless steel and when it was wiped off everything cleaned up well and shone. The ends of paper products were folded in a "V" and blinds on some windows were pulled up for a cheery outdoor look. They cleaned for 3 and one-half hours and did beautifully. The charge was $140.00 an hour for 4 people all working. I had some difficulty saying that it was an excellent price but I did feel the service was well worth the money.

They arrived when they said they would and provided all the cleaning services/elements that they promised including removing calcium and lime scale from the bathrooms, cleaning all the blinds, cleaning the sliding glass doors, along with all the normal cleaning that one would expect.

Everything they did was excellent. However they didn’t call me back for bi-weekly service and they could've had a long-term customer if they had called me back.

They do a great job and they come every two weeks. They are here for two hours and there are four people that come out. They clean the countertops and the cabinets in the kitchen. They wipe off the outside of the refrigerator, the stove and those kinds of stuff. Their pricing is also fine.

The Maids of Sarasota come every two weeks. They have been coming for eight or nine years now. They started in a different house and have been coming here ever since. The nice part is they're not here long because the bring in a whole crew. I have a 4-bedroom house with a den, it's a pretty large house, it's 3800 square feet just to give you an idea, they are four or five girls and they all know what they're supposed to do and I just get out of their way. I try not to be here actually. They're pretty thorough. I've only had maybe one time where I've actually called them back and they have a guarantee that if you're not satisfied they will come back and fix whatever it is. In the eight years, I've had them come back once and that was because they had a spray scent that they use on some of the homes and when they sprayed it, it left my tile floor slippery and my son is handicapped, has a walker and my mother was still living at the time and I stepped on it, I also had hip surgery and I almost fell so when I almost fell on it, I had to call them back to come clean it again. It wasn't a large area and I would have cleaned it up myself but I wasn't sure what they were using so I had just asked them not to. Anything I have asked them to do or not do, they're pretty thorough, they must keep it on record because they don't always have the same crew come here but they all seem to know. I have a piano that cannot be dusted with any furniture polish and they're Spanish speaking so fortunately, I had a caregiver here at the time that spoke Spanish so I had her tell them and I have not had to remind them again that they just need to use a damp cloth on the piano. They're pretty good about it. Like anything else, you don't want to change because what you got is working. I think their pricing is reasonable. Sometimes they're under some condition that are not best for cleaning when there are people in the house, now it's just my son and I but I had a lot of people on the house and they seem to get around them, get it all done. If they can vaccum the floor in my den, I'd give them an A every time because I can't run a vacuum across that carpet, it's carpeting and all the other carpets are fine but I went to vacuum this one and I had a terrible time. I thought these poor girls, they're strong, They're a lot younger than I am but they're strong. I think they do a really good job. They apparently just changed ownerships a couple of weeks ago but the previous owners used to do a spot-check periodically. They would just ring the doorbell and when they knew their housekeepers were here, they would ring the doorbell and do a spot-check. So far, they've been honest, they have broken a couple of things in eight years and they told me about it. Some of it, they have taken back and reimbursed me for it. If there is something that I would like them to do, I'll either call and ask them to pass it on to the team that's coming. Usually the leader of the team usually speaks enough English to understand what I'm asking. They're like Energizer bunnies when they come in. They don't talk to each other, they just all know what they are supposed to do and they're very honest because I left jewelry out by mistake and just not thinking, I left it in my bedroom and it was right where it was supposed to be. I never had any problem with anything like that so that's an A+. If they're going to be late, if there's a problem, I get a phone call. They will call me and tell me that they ran into a problem.

This is a very professional group. They usually come with a crew of 4, and work fast but not lacking attention to detail. I highly recommend "The Maids" of Sarasota.

Excellent quality and quantity of work. They work as a team and are very good at doing so. They are not inexpensive but are reliable and do excellent work. We will continue to use them!

They get on their knees and wash the floors. They do a very good job. My overall experience with them has been very good. They are a little bit pricey. Their services are very good.

This is a really good company! The Maids work is very good, they are reliable, honest and pleasant. The price is reasonable for the convenience of free scheduling, and being able to absolutely count on them to come when scheduled and do a good job. If there are issues with cleaning( rare) , a call to supervisor solves it. I highly recommend this company.

Originally I had set up a walk-through with another Angie's List advertiser, and she had given me a quote of $80,unfortunately she lost a few employees and I had to call Maids of Sarasota at the last minute. I thought the advertisement stated $150 for 4 maids for 2 hrs. I scheduled Maids of Sarosoata for 2/28/14 as my sister and husband were going to be staying with me for a few days. I had not been feeling well and thought this would take off some pressure. They called a couple of times to say they would be late. They arrived 2 1/2 hrs later than the scheduled time and wanted to charge me $250. I said no way, and asked how much to clean 2 bathrooms, mop kitchen floor and vaccum. She quoted me $150, I gave the okay as I needed these things done. I made my check out for $150, they written the thank you out for $140, so I gave them a new check for $140. Only one maid spoke any English and she just kept smiling. I wouldn't use them again, ,. Nothing smelled fresh, couldn't really tell that they'd been here. I don't like it when the price isn't solid. In the future I will verify price before scheduling. I have used Angie's List before and never had this issue.
