Ted never repaired AC on 6/2/14. Never was fixed properly. Refused to come back. Left a disabled person with MS with no AC & gave false info to owners I have Multiple Sclerosis and a Rare arthritic disease. Ted was called out by our Landlords, Cody and David Allison who live in Ky, for a service/repair to the AC unit that had stopped working on 6/2/14. My husband removed the filter and dropped the air return door from the ceiling so that Ted could have access to it and know the location for when he came in the home. The outside unit had frozen up, so Ted asked we turn the entire unit off and he would return in an hour. He and his assistant, whom he verbally treated disrespectfully the whole time, returned an hour or so later and began to service and "repair" the unit. They damaged the access panel as well.After being here about 30 min he explained that he cleaned the coils and told my husband that the air ducts were very dirty and needed cleaned as well. He also said that we may have to turn the unit on and off a few more times before it would eventually be ok. My husband showed him the filters that we use and Ted told my husband that they were the correct ones and they were fine. we explained that due to my health, allergies and our two dogs, we changed the filter every 3wks. He said "good". We called our Landlord, David Allison, and told him what Ted said. We stayed in contact with our landlord about how the AC was running. A week later we asked our landlord if we should still be having to turn the unit off and on, and being he owns his own AC repair business, he said no. He instructed us to change out to a thinner, cheaper filter that didn't restrict airflow. We did and by the following week it still wasn't working and freezing up. He said he would call Ted out again. During this whole time, I'd been having a mild MS exacerbation and had been on both IV and oral steroids. I also take and IV infusion every 28 days called Tysabri for my MS to keep me in remission. I cant be in the heat, nor go without AC because the heat can cause extreme weakness and my MS could flare up. Ted was aware of my health, as I had explained it to him prior to his first visit when he called me to set up a time to come out. When the landlords called him out again, he was asked to call my husband and I prior to his visit. Because I have been ill, I still have home health coming in and we have 2 dogs that need to be put up before he comes so we asked that he call us like before and give us a time to be ready for him. Ted never called, he called David (landlord) from his truck in our driveway who lives in Ky. David wasn't available Why would Ted call him who lives over a 1000 miles away and not myself? Ted and his assistant show up sometime after 1:00pm. My husband had just gotten out of the shower and I am still having a difficult time getting around. I said to him to wait a moment and that we were to have been called first that we needed to get our dogs put up. My husband was trying to get dressed and help me. Again Ted rang and the knocked on the door. I again told him just a few more moments that we'd be right there. Then my husband opens the door and sees Ted taking off in his truck. He just left! We called our landlord to see if he could call Ted and have him to come back. We heard nothing the rest of the day. Called our Landlords today 6/24 and were told that Ted said we were rude to him at the door and that it was our fault the AC didn't work because we weren't using a filter at all causing the coils to get dirty. These are untrue statements, how would he know if we were or weren't using a filter if he never even came in to the home to see and as far as rude. I was upset that we didn't get a call first so that we could be prepared for him. we are in the middle of trying to pack and move and I still have home health coming in. Asking for a call first is just common courtesy. Now, Ted is refusing to come back and fix the AC. The landlords refuse to send anyone else because of Ted's false report. I'm still sitting in an 80 degree home, weak and barely able to pack a box to get moved out of here Ted, as well as my landlords after Ted giving them false information, both have refused to come in and fix the AC not realizing I don't think exactly what they are doing to a disabled person with a terminal disease. Not to mention that I have two dogs, one being a Shi-Tzu. That breed cant perspire like the others and over heats very easily. he hasn't felt well for days and has just been laying in front of the fan on our bed.
Description of Work: he first came out on 6/2/2014 and cleaned coils. AC was not working and had been freezing up. Didn't work and was asked to come back on 06/23/2014 and just left, refusing to return.
