About us

We are at the Sarasota Farmers Market on Saturday from 7a to 1p and the Sarasota Farmers Market on Wednesday (FivePoints Park), downtown Sarasota from 10a to 2p every week. We sharpen knives, scissors, garden tools, Bonsai tools. We also sharpen for the industrial market, including but not limited to: Upholsters, Workrooms, and Tailors. We are dealers of Wusthof, SHUN, KIA, F. Dick, and New West Knifeworks Cutlery. Dealer of sharpening equipment such as, but not limited to: Wicked Edge Professional System (WEPS).

 I went to Sharper Than New with 20 kitchen knives (all sizes), not knowing what to expect.  Krystina not only did an excellent job with my knives, but she is a delight to work with!   She was able to restore my very dull knives to a sharp edge, even the serrated ones.  I called, made an appointment, and she exceed my expectations on quality and turnaround time. I was impressed that she spent time with me showing me how to hold the different knives, how to cut with them and how to sharpen them with a honing stick.  What fun to have sharp knives again in the kitchen!  Would highly recommend her.

Krystina took the time to explain how to use each knife and what a knife was used for (I purchased knives from her as well as having some that I had sharpened).  I would definitely recommend her.

I had a rush job and the owner was very accommodating with my last minute request.  Knives came back nice and sharp.  Very reasonable price.  Would definitely use this service again.

My knives were returned very sharp, with an excellent edge.  I am very happy and satisfied with her work and craftsmanship.

Sharper Than New will definitely be handling all of my knife maintenance from now on.  And I may be expanding my knife inventory with some of the knives she sells.

Kristina is very knowledgeable, personal, caring and charming.  She has my highest endorsement.  I intend to be a repeat customer.
