I contracted with Scott Drage to repair a noisy pool pump and he told me that I needed a new pump, since this one was too old to repair, I was better off to replace it with another. I agreed to replace it with a new one and he replaced my 3 hp pump with a 2 hp pump. He told me that 2 hp was all that was required. I preferred a similar pump to what I had but he insisted that 3 hp was too much pump for my pool. I reluctantly agreed, since he was supposed to be the professional, I deferred to his opinion. Approximately 5 months later, the "new" pump began to leak. Scott came back to repair the pump and told me : " He would try to get it fixed under warranty." He told me that the pump came with a 2 year warranty. He later said the warranty service time began the day the pump was manufactured, not the day I bought it !! Therefore, the warranty was essentially non-existent since the pump was built 18 months prior to installation. I do not believe this is right, something is wrong. Scott did repair the pump but charged me a fee for labor. 3 months later, the pump is leaking again. I called Scott, he answered his phone, sounded disgusted with me, and said he would be by later to have a look. That was 2 weeks ago. He will not take any more calls from me and I am stuck with a bad pump. I have left at least 5 messages that have gone unanswered. I will get another company to repair/replace this pump; but please know, that Scott Drage DOES NOT honor his warranty. It is my opinion that he installed a remanufactured pump and sold it to me as a new one.
