On a routine maintenance call, the tech fabricated information to justify my replacing a UV light in 4 year old unit, to the tune of $685. The rationale was that I had a "wet unit" not a "dry unit" (now know no such thing), and a call to the company, Ray, who informed me that whether a light is needed "depends on the ductwork." Have found out from three other area HVAC providers that these "reasons" were total fabrications. And that a UV light is not essential unless there is an asthma sufferer on premises. Regrettably, I paid them without requesting an estimate and checking first. Every maintenance visit of theirs was an upsell, and I finally succumbed. All on me. However, I do not want others to be taken by these folks.

They came in when I first hired them, and solved my problem right away. They were able to fix a poorly installed UV light that was installed by a different company. They were very good at explaining what needed to be done, and are very fair with the pricing. The dad owns the company, and came out to introduce himself the first time they came to work. We have been using them for about 5 years now.
Description of Work: We have contracts (2 year) with them. They come every quarter to give our furnace/AC a tuneup.

My A/C went out in June. They gave me a verbal estimate for a new unit. I got other estimates and their estimate was one of the highest. I chose another company to put in the system. They called me to do maintenance and I asked them to put it off since I have new system. They told me the agreement was void since I bought a new unit. They said they were not going to refund the remaining time on the agreement or come out and do preventive maintenance. The owner hasn't called me which I requested a couple times.
