Precision Overhead Garage Door Service

They replaced a couple of parts that needed taken care of. They came out on time and did a great job. They did however charge me more money to install a light switch without telling me first.

I purchased an $89.00 garage door tuneup through Angie's List. The company called me the day of purchase and we set a day and time for the tuneup. The service technician, James Rodey, called me about 15 minutes before his arrival. He was very punctual. He assessed the overall operation of the door, then replaced the weather seal on the bottom of the door. James asked me if I have ever tried to open/close the door by hand without the use of the garage door opener, which I hadn't. He told me that the springs were not the correct springs for the door and showed me how hard it would be to open/close the door by hand with the current springs. He told me I would be able to continue with the springs, but it would put a lot more wear and tear on my opener since it worked much harder than it should. He gave me a price for new correct springs so I decided to have them installed while he was here rather than wait for a later date. He also installed new trim on the outside of the door to make it a much better seal. After all this was done, he aligned the door and adjusted the door opener. He also lubricated the door and opener. He was very professional and answered all questions I had in a courteous manner. After watching him do all the work, I decided that I had made the right choice in utilizing his service, rather than attempting to do the job myself. He had in-depth knowledge of his trade and performed the work professionally.

They were prompt, the job was completed in a timely fashion, the installer was great, and I am very pleased.

It went fine. There was nothing wrong with it. It was a good service.

I purchased garage door service on Sept. 26 in response to an Angie's List Big Deal. The service provider never contacted me. I informed Angie's List on Oct. 1, Oct. 3 and Oct 5, either through email or a follow-up form, but only received one response from Angie's List. I guess you'd say I'm very disappointed, both with Precision Garage Door and Angie's List.

Have used this provider in the past, left only a C review. Thought I would try again, they would not reply to my requests.

Last week on 9/9/2014 I went to go out and the garage door wouldn't open. I noticed that the spring was broken. I checked Angies List for garage door repairs and selected Precision Overhead Garage Doors because of their high rating. I called them and they said they would send someone out at 1:00 o'clock. Eric Theune arrived on time and gave me a price of $350 to replace the springs. He did not try to sell me a new door and I appreciated the no pressure attitude. The door is 25 years old and has quite a bit of rust and the opener is the same age, so I decided to ask him for a quote to replace the whole thing. He gave me a price of $1624 for the door and the belt drive DC opener. Because I have an 18 foot wide door which is uncommon, they didn't have one in the Fort Myers location. There was one however in the Sarasota location and they could deliver and install it on Monday 9/15/2014. Sammy arrived at 10:30 on Monday (within the scheduled time of 8:00 to 11:00 am) It took him about 5 hours to install the door and opener. He explained everything that I needed to know and cleaned up after himself. All in all I was very satisfied with the service and products from Precision Overhead Garage Door. My only disappointment was that there was no Angie's List discount on a new door. You would think that if they would take off $50 on a repair they would take something off of a new door.

The quality of evaluation was very good, and I received an estimate for work the same day. Courteous and skillful reps from answering the phone to the service call itself. Bravo!

Excellent service. He showed up on time, talked me through the process, completed the work and then reviewed the findings on the tune-up. I received a review of potential service needed in future with current estimated costs to repair. This was very helpful. I also received a review of what work completed so that I could confirm and sign-off. Love the process used with the iPad and throughness of the service rep. Definitely recommend this company and will use them again.

A salesman named Richard came to give a quotation on the work. He was detailed and clear in his explanation, and showed the options of various doors and designs. He was not and quot;pushyand quot;.. After receiving his (and another company's) quotation, I called Precision and scheduled the work. The young technician (Luke) arrived at the scheduled time and performed the work as Richard and I discussed. Luke was very proficient and efficient in his craft. It was obvious that , in spite of his youth; Luke had done this many, many times before. He accomplished everything as though following a scientific formula.. Construction and handymen do not normally have the best of reputations. I have experienced both good and horrible. It's a refreshing delight to have hired a company whose employees are an ideal example of what one hopes for when hiring a construction company. And to add icing to the cake; - when Luke was finished, he handed me a bill that was EXACTLY the amount that had been quoted to me by Richard (the salesman). Thank you Precision Garage Door company. - thank you Richard. And, especially, thank you, Luke.

Justin came to my newly-purchased home to assess the state of my garage door opener. I was afraid to open it because the bar at the top was bent. He determined that the old garage door opener should be replaced. He completed the work quickly, explained to me how everything works, and told me to contact him again if any problems develop. My new garage door opener is almost silent and works wonderfully. I would highly recommend Precision Overhead Garage Door Service to everyone.

Everything went as promised, when promised. The new door looks good and the opener is very quiet. I called the company several times after I got the bid, but before installation with questions. They answered them patiently. Their bid was similar to another quote we got; I think the other company was quoting on a door with lower wind resistance. It is very hard to tell for sure. We are happy with the door and opener.

I called the afternoon before my appointment and was given a 4-hour window for an appointment on the next day. Jason, the technician, called early in the 4-hour window to tell me when he would arrive. He arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. It was decided to replace the garage door opener. His truck was equipped with the necessary product and he started the installation. He was polite, efficient and neat. We are very pleased with how the new opener works and would highly recommend their service.

The fellow who showed up (Carlos) was courteous, profesional and on time. He reviewed the system and looked thru the components. Afterwards, he came back and said in order to solve and minimize the noise; we need to replace the bracket and the rollers. Also, said sprocket needed replaced. He lubricated everything. Once he finished, everything was quiter and he was successful. I didn't understand the fuel energy surcharge. The rep called it a service charge.

Service man was very nice and efficient

The company was wonderful about working with me to accommodate some unexpected and difficult personal circumstances. Gaetano was prompt, informative and very helpful in providing information that I requested about all my options. He answered all my questions and did not pressure me to upgrade the service. He was able to provide the additional service (providing a wind resistance package for my existing door) that day wile he was on site. The service was completed promptly and everything was left exactly as it was prior to his visit. I can't say enough good about this experience.

Garage door broke on a Sunday afternoon. I called multiple companies from Angie's List and Precision was able to have someone out the next day (Mon.) between 10-2. I received a call at 11 from Paul R. telling us he would be there within 30-40 minutes. He arrived right on time. Completed the work in under 2 hours and was very professional. Did not try to give us a hard sell on any other parts. Explained how to lubricate all of the bearings, rollers, spring, etc. I would definitely use them again and would ask for Paul.

I've had Precision Door Svc out here a few times. Their prices are reasonable. They came late at night and a very nice young man worked on it and got it done. I've also had them give my door a tune-up because it was very loud. They replaced some parts and got it going very nicely and quietly. Recently it wouldn't open. They came out and made an adjustment on it and didn't charge me. They're very responsive. They come when you need them and they stay late. The service was very good.

I've had a technician came out twice--once to do the tune-up, and then two months later for some additional adjustments and an unrelated broken spring. Both technicians were pleasant, punctual, knowledgeable, and gave me hints about keeping the door and new rollers in good shape (silicone spray, etc.) The door works well, and the weather seal is tight. I will definitely use this company again for any garage door maintenance and repairs that arise.

This is the 3rd time I have used Precision. They are always punctual...polite and professional. The tech went to work immediately to get the job done. The $89 for rollers was an excellent price through Angie's List. I am very pleased and would use them again for all my garage door needs

During the "tune-up" activity I decided to invest in the Precision PDS 800 chain drive opener by Linear. The total cost for the opener, two remotes, installation and new cable set for both side of the garage door was $514.00. I now have an almost silent door opener and I am extremely satisfied with the product and the service provided. Gaetano completed the entire "tune-up" and installation in just over one hour. I can definitely recommend this company and service technician to others.

They are a good company. My garage door needed more work than what they came out to do. I thought their prices were fair, because I compared the prices of the parts they were selling me and the service on the internet, and the prices seemed to be fair. Their customer service was good, and they came when they were supposed to come.
