Precision Overhead Garage Door Service

Very professional service provider. Beware of the fine print. Ad said that there was "normal rate charge after 3 doors". I took this to mean that the coupon included up to three doors. However, according to the technician and his "boss" the deal was for only one door. Also, they wanted to charge and extra fee for a service call. Lastly, they did not give me the 25% discount for the additional parts/services. I did not realize that the discount was NOT applied until I did this review. Next time, I will be sure to read the details more fully and ask specific questions. They did, however, remove the "service charge" after I questioned it.

He was on early, which was great, he performed each item listed on the $89.00 special, adjusted items, lubricated belt etc. removed old worn out with new nylon rollers with bearings. The garage door runs quietly and smoothly now vs like it was ready to fall down. He adjusted the overhead box so that the door closed properly and opened without getting stuck. I would recommend this company to anyone they were not at all out of price range and explained everything as he went along. My tech was John and he was excellent.

After reading other reviews as it regards what appears to be misleading statements on billing and charges, I elected not to use Precision and I have gone elsewhere. I am glad I read all of the reviews because based simply upon their ad, I had decided to go with them!

The service person was a very nice young man. He did a nice job. The garage door works much better and quieter than it did before. HOWEVER, I feel I was OVERCHARGED $29.99, due to the way they price their SERVICE CALL. It is nothing more than a COME ON, A SWITCH AND BAIT type thing. The next time I need service, I will NOT call this company. I WILL call a company who gives me an UPFRONT PRICE THAT IS WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR THE WORK; NOT a Cost to drive to my house.

See above. Two comments: 1) It's unfortunate that Angie's List reveals customer information to the business when reports are negative--especially when we may have to exercise that warranty! An honest business would realize the overcharge and rectify that, but an honest business probably would not get such a negative review in the first place. But what is Angie's list about if not about open customer feedback, good and bad? 2) This is the third business from Angie's List that we have used and been terribly disappointed with each. (The sheetrocker never got back in touch, even after we called twice; and the plumber tried to sell us a $3000 water purifcation system that we didn't want, but we had to sit through a half-hour spiel that felt like a high school chemistry lab.) This was the straw on the camel's back. Three strikes; Angie's out.

Fast & efficient. Price was established and agreed to. Completed job tested to our satisfaction.

Everything seemed to go smoothly and it lokked really great. The next day (Christmas Eve) I noticed what looked like scrapes on the vinyl molding. After New Years I called the company and told them of the scrapes. They promptly sent out a technician to correct the problem. It turned out to be grease that was deposited when the install occured. The tech apoligized and said that he should have checked it before he left. He was unable to remove the grease so he replaced the vinyl.

Technician was on time and did the work efficiently and to our satisfaction.

My experience was great. The guy that came out was fantastic. He was very nice and he gave us some very good suggestions. The only thing was that he charged about $200 more than most other places I talked with, but they do great quality work.

Waiting for city inspector to approve the job today and give me the permit. I do not anticipate any issues

Very pleased with this company. Called Precision late afternoon on Oct 2. Told the receptionist my problem,which was a roller that was out of alignment. The garage door would not close without hammering the roller back in place. She said no one could come out that day but scheduled a tech for between 4-6 the next day. John the Tech arrived slightly earlier then scheduled. He was very nice. Explained what happened with the door. He explained a reason and made some suggestions. I also asked him to replace the major door spring. He did all that was asked and lubricated the original door and a small excess door. I would use them again.

I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this company. From my first contact, via the phone, to the first meeting of the estimator, it was top notch professionalism. My Installer, Jesse, was absolutely the best. He a has his job down to a science and knows every aspect of it. After asking him about an externally mounted keypad, he brought one out and installed it, saving me money from getting one at a later date, and he even programmed my daughters car to automatically open the garage without having to have a remote in her car. Hers is a newer model car that has that feature, but it only took about a minute or less to do it.

Excellent job. Our garage door is approximately 15 years old and hasnt had any service since installation so it need more than just a spring replacement. Workers very professional and did not charge for return visit. The service techs responded the next day after I called but couldnt begin work do to obstruction in garage (my fault). Returned the next day and completed job in a timely and very professional manner.

No problems. I would use again.

I called in on the 19th, as I recall, to say I needed some help as my garage door would not close. John Tsangarinos was here promptly the next day, at exactly I was told me to expect someone. He explained everything very carefully to me before doing the work and was done in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely call Precision Garage Door Service again.

I have their sticker on my door. Their price was good, and they did quick and good work. Their price was not much more than the cost of the spring; they were very reasonable. I needed it done quickly so I called them and they were able to come out the quickest for me. It was a very good experience; they handled the job very well.

It was a very good experience. He was very professional. I think all garage door people are little high. These people do good work. They were recommended on Angie's List. I called them the second time and I think the guy was very fair. My garage door got stuck up late in the afternoon and I didn't want to leave the door open all night. He was supposed to come between 7 and 9 but he called me to say if you could be there by 5 and if that was okay. He showed right up when he said he would. He got there and took care of the problem in an hour or so and he was gone. My only complaint is that they are all more expensive than they should be. He did a good and professional work so I guess I'm willing to pay it. He was really very responsive.

They looked at the loose cable (from backing my car into the garage door) and said that it would cost a minimum of $150 to get the door down and if the coils were over 3 years old they'd have to be replaced (which they were over 3 years old) at a hefty cost per coil. Then they mentioned several other things that could be old/damaged and may need replacing and that I could consider their package special which made my heart just about stop. They then stated that in order to avoid a service charge for coming out they needed to do an estimate for a new door. I said no thank you and decided then and there to get a membership on Angies list to find someone for another quote. Found someone who came in and fixed it for $65 saying all the parts were good to go. They were in an out in 10 minutes.

Just moved into our new house a week ago. Prior to us moving in, the bank had repaired some damage to the ceiling in the garage. In the process of that, they broke my garage door and refused to fix or pay for it. When we moved in, the door was shut and the movers and I tried to manhandle it open, bending one of the runners and getting the door wedged open about 2 feet and stuck that way. I called Percision Door saturday morning to get an estimate. He gave me a $75 estimate and said he would at the least get the door to close today, as he might have needed to get a new runner. He also said if he couldn't fix it, I wouldn't be charged for getting it to close. He worked for less than an hour, got the door to close AND open without needing to replace anything, and charged me $15 LESS than was estimated .I was expecting to pay hundreds of dollars to get my door fixed so I am beyond totally satisfied. I will most definately call again for any future work.

I called Precision Door Co. and left a message to call me back. Within a few minutes, I recvd a call from Jeff Long (owner). He was on another job but advised he could come to my house and give me a quote on replacing the bolts and torsion springs on my garage door that afternoon. Mr. Long arrived at my home within a few minutes of when he said he would arrive. It was off to a good start. He advised he would have no trouble completing the job I wanted done and asked if I wanted him to do it today. I said yes. He asked if I had considered adjusting the springs to balance the garage door instead of replacing them. I had not. I told him I wanted a particular kind of high quality bolt used for the replacement of the bolts. He showed me what he used as replacement bolts and they were exactly what I wanted. That assured me that he furnished his customers with only top-notch parts. Mr. Long completed the job in about an hour. He replaced 10 bolts. His total charge for replacing the bolts was about half of what another company quoted me for replacement using the same high quality bolt. He adjusted the torsion springs and balanced the garage door. His suggestion to adjust the springs as opposed to replacing them saved me $150. He didn't even charge me anything for adjusting the springs. Mr. Long was congenial and, at the same time, went about his business in a professional manner. He also showed himself to be a gentleman by being gracious in answering several probably foolish questions from the homeowner.

The owner came out and did the work himself. The price to do the repair was very reasonable. He was very honest.

Everything went well. He did a great job. He was very responsive and here the same day I called him.

Door is working fine now - somehow the door had gone past a bolt and threw off the sensor so that it would not work. He fixed the problem and said that the amount I paid today could be used toward a new unit if it stopped working in the next 90 days (my unit is old).
