It worked out alright. They met the price criteria that I had. They got the work done promptly. There were some damages that occurred during the installation but they took care of it. It worked out alright.

I did not want the panels on the front of my house(south) so fafco worked with me to select an alternate location using their high efficiency panels. I am a little disappointed with winter time results, but fafco returned with a proposal for improving the system that I am considering. They remained polite and professional and I would recommend them to all.

After finding Mirasol on Angie?s List I contacted the company to get more information about solar PV, Hot Water and pool heat. An appointment was made and Scott Egglefield arrived on time. Scott was very knowledgeable and explained the systems and options. He is very personable and takes the time that customer needs to explain things. I didn't feel rushed or any high pressure sales tactics. I ended up selecting Mirasol to install the solar HW and solar pool heat, but not the solar PV. Now two years later, after failing to obtain the FPL rebate for the Solar PV, I am working with Mirasol to have them assist in applying for the rebate and to install a PV system. The installation for the Solar HW & pool heat systems went fairly smoothly. The crew that installed the panels on the roof was meticulous. They even went as far as to track down the place where the builder purchased paint so that could purchase an exact match of the paint color to paint the pipes running along the walls for maximum concealment. The crew answered my questions along the way and describe the pros and cons of the various options for the install. Since we had numerous projects going on at the same time, a separate crew was sent to make the final hook ups to the pool system and when I wasn?t happy about some minor ways in which the install was done, I contacted Scott. He came over and looked the issue and someone come back and correct the problem. We had a few issues with our Solar Hot Water system and whenever I called Mirasol they were prompt to schedule a service call and address the issue at no additional cost to me. Eventually, they decided that the installation needed to be reengineered moving the expansion tank and changing the pump. All of this was done at no additional costs to me. We lost a little benefit of the solar heating for a few days here and there, but the main take away for me is that Mirasol will ensure that ultimately the job is done right and the customer is satisfied. I think that theme comes out throughout the reviews here on Angie?s List. I thought their price seemed a little high, but maybe the other contractors were planning to cut corners and in the PV system Scott has offered to match a competitors price with a comparable system, but ultimately I decided I wanted the more expensive system because what Scott proposed, better met my desires for the PV system. That is why I have decided to ask Mirasol to do my PV system as I am confident that ultimately the system meet my needs, will be done right and they will stand by their work.

I did not go with them because my grandson did the job himself so that saved me a lot of money. Their price is way too high. They were punctual. I believe I talked to somebody when I called.

How did it go? Fine. I think I can best provide you details by sharing a bit of history. My family moved from New England to Sarasota, Florida, in the mid-1960s, settling into a big old (1927) house on the coast. My parents soon decided to take advantage of Florida's sunny clime for solar hot water- and, on their home had a solar hot-water system installed by a creative, forward-thinking solar company, Mirasol- Fafco. Our family enjoyed that big old house for several decades, until my mother realized it was time for her to sell her house and move to a retirement community. When she moved out of the house in 2005, the Mirasol-Fafco solar hot water was still reliable and abundant. When I bought my own house (still in Florida) one of my earliest decisions was to move from electric to solar hot water. Remembering our good experience with Mirasol, I called on them for my solar hot-water system- which has been providing all the hot water I need for bathing, kitchen, and laundry. More recently, when I decided to take advantage of initiatives encouraging the adoption of solar photo-voltaic power, Mirasol guided me through the application process, helped me make best us of Federal and local resources, and equipped my house with a 40-panel system that has essentially sent my electric bills to $0.00. Not surprisingly, there have been a few "hicoughs" with the new solar photo-voltaic system. In every instance, Mirasol has been prompt in responding to these issues, and as resolved each to my entire satisfaction. Over the 30+ years since our first contact with Mirasol, much has changed- houses bought and sold, solar pioneer Scott Egglefield has passed much of the Mirasol leadership to his son Damon, technology has changed and mostly improved- but I have always known that in matters of practical solar applications, I can rely on Mirasol-Fafco to offer prudent recommendations, to follow-through on commitments, and to stand behind the work they do to help us take advantage of one of Florida's most important resources- that furnace in the sky. I hope the story has not been too long or wordy... but my Mirasol connection has so much history behind it, I'm not sure how else I could have told it.

The installations took two days due to rainy weather that prevented the installers from being on the roof. Installations went smoothly. The salesman was most professional and helpful and made a return visit during which he reset the thermostat on the water heater to a more satisfactory setting. Instructions on operating the new pool pump were done too rapidly to be of much help. We later ended up calling the manufacturer over the weekend for help in making the pump run continuously for a necessary shock treatment. We are hopeful that the installations will ultimately pay for themselves due to the energy efficiency that they provide.

We HIGHLY recommend Mirasol. Before the sale, during the installation, and now a year after the installation of the PV system, we are very happy with our choice of contractor. They are fantastic. We went through 3 bad experiences with solar panel contractors before we found Mirasol and we researched probably 20 solar panel contractors before we chose them. They delivered everything that they promised and exactly met the aggressive time frame and budget. They were extremely organized, friendly, informative, and professional and they were so good at project management that it made it very easy for us, the homeowner. We originally wanted to have the PV array on a different roof, but they knew exactly what criteria needed to be met in order for us to receive the FPL rebate for our solar system. They filed all of the necessary permits and paperwork after the installation and our rebate was processed properly and as expected by FPL. The whole experience was excellent. The installation personnel were also very good. We liked the fact that the Project Manager (who was very knowledgeable) was always checking in on the job and was always available to us, before, during, and after installation. Our system has been producing at least as much energy as promised over this past year that we have had it. We couldn't be happier with the solar system and our VERY low annual electricity bill. We recommend Mirasol, solar, and the FPL rebate program to all our friends without reservation. Thank you Mirasol!

They were very timely, very professional, and there were not any hidden charges, or fees. The part that has been most important to us is the follow-up service calls (learning)... and there have been many. They have been very patient teaching the system to us, and have not charged for the extra time. Finally, the system has been terrific, it works just as we had hoped. Thanks to MIRASOL SOLAR for a great pool.

They responded very quickly to first contact, provided a competitive quote same day, and committed to getting the job done by month's end, in spite of difficulties with availability of PV panels. Work was done neatly cleanly and expeditiously. Very professional people.
