Because Marvin knew salt water systems so well, we hired him to do the weekly maintenance. What a mistake. Marvin does not do the weekly maintenance himself. He hires a relative to do this. Right from the beginning there were issues. He came, but not every week. I spend my summers there and there were at least three weeks he didn't even show up. The spa was always filthy. The sides of the pool were yellow. He would come, spend 7 minutes there, test the water, then leave. When he came, if he saw me on the lanai, he would go back to his truck and get his brush and brush the sides of the pool. If he didn't think we were there, he never even took the brush out of the truck. We have a brush on the lanai but he didn't bother to use ours, either. He didn't clean out the filters or baskets. Last summer, my husband had to show him the second basket. He didn't even know it was there. We began by complaining to him. When nothing changed we began complaining to Marvin. We complained multiple times. This last time, Marvin defended his relative. Not sure why. It's a shame. Marvin is a good pool repair man but his relative is ruining his pool cleaning business for him and Marvin has no idea about what is really going on. A salt water system really maintains itself. All he needed to do was test the water, (add salt every few months and muratic acid on occasion) clean out the filter and baskets and brush the sides of the pool. This can all be done in 15 minutes. That's one hour total, per month. For 90.00 a month, I don't think this was asking too much.
Description of Work: Marvin initially came out to repair our salt water pool system. He did a great job. He was very knowledgable and was honest and reasonable. Because of this we hired him to do our weekly maintenance. We do not live in FL, we come down during the summer. Our duaghter lives in the house, but she is physically unable to maintain the pool.
