I have dealt with both good and bad contractors and this is the first time I have ever felt the need to write a review of a contractor. My wife and I had saved for years in order to re-model our children’s bathroom and were excited about the process. Dave Ellis was highly recommended by one of my wife’s friends and he seemed nice and professional when he came over to give us a quote. My wife and I have since regretted our choice to hire Dave Ellis for our bathroom remodel. From our perspective Dave was pleasant at first and the job seemed to be moving forward well, but Dave’s disposition seemed to change after he dropped a tile on our new bathtub and chipped it. Because of that accident he lost at least two work days. After, he seemed rushed and we felt his quality of work went down. He was rude on several occasions to my wife and myself. He demanded the majority of the payment before he was done. And, in the end left the job unfinished.

Overall, Dave was a delight to work with. He participated in tile selection, made helpful suggestions, coordinated well with other contractors and did a superb job of installing the tile. He obviously knows what he is doing. Furthermore, he understands the goal of a tile project is to produce a "wow!" when it is completed. He recommended we upgrade the small clam shell base molding with a larger, modern molding to compliment the new tile. It was an excellent suggestion and added significantly to our satisfaction with the tile job. After watching him install the tile, I realized it takes a commitment to quality, technical proficiency and patience to install tile properly. We were glad we had selected a well recommended professional to install our tile rather than go with the cheapest option. His installation of the bath cabinets and vanities was equally professional.
