I came to do business with IST because I had a pair of speakers that needed repair. Long after the repair was to have been finished I finally received a call that the repair had been completed and that I could pick my speakers up on the following day (Saturday) between the hours of 9am and 12:30pm (Saturday hours are also posted on their front door). I arrived at IST the next day at 10:10am, backed my car up to their front door, opened the trunk, got my paperwork and checkbook and proceeded to the front door. It was locked. I telephoned IST from my cell phone and a little girl answered. She told me that her daddy went out for a while, and that he would be back. It was a drive for me to get there so I decided to wait. After a while Frank, the owner pulled into the parking lot in a company vehicle. By the time he parked I was standing at the front door paperwork in hand. He got out of his vehicle, looked over at me, turned around and leisurely strolled out to the street to get his mail from the mailbox. He meandered back up the driveway and to the front door, unlocked it and led me in. I was following him to counter when I expressed my discontent that the store had been closed during the time I was told to be there. At that, he reeled about closing the space between us with a quick step (I had to stop short as I was walking behind him) and began shoving me around the store (yes, I mean physically). As he shoved me around he attempted to provoke me saying such things as ?cmon hit me and what?s the matter don?t want to fight? I responded that I just wanted to pick up my repairs, pay him and leave. ?I WANT to give you money!? I kept saying. Let?s conduct our business and be done. When he realized that his actions were not provoking me to fight he stepped back and told me that he was unwilling to do business with me and therefore would not give me my speakers back. After explaining to him several times that it would be in everyone?s best interest to conclude our business he went back to the counter muttering under his breath (utterances that I didn?t appreciate). I got my speakers back with only one further issue. When I pulled out my checkbook he informed me that they don?t accept checks so I had to pay by credit card. Curious though; they were happy to accept my check when I dropped my speakers off as deposit for the work and their online advertisement lists personal checks as an accepted method of payment. The final bill turned out to be 33% more than the estimate but I was just glad to pay and get out of there.
