Description of Work: Ted Sparling is the Owner of and General Contractor for Gulf and Bay Constructors in Sarasota, Fl. As such, he oversaw and participated in the purchase and removal of our old windows and sliding glass doors and the installation of new hurricane impact windows, sliders and French doors. This included the leveling of the lanai floor and repairs to the roof. Ted also worked with a local business to design a new header to support the very heavy new sliding doors on the lanai. He also constructed a new arched opening between the lanai and living area. As there had been an ongoing water problem in the lanai when rainfall was heavy, he also redesigned certain exterior and interior wall areas connecting the lanai and interior room which alleviated this issue. We changed the lanai floor to natural stone and Ted oversaw the installation of a wonderful tongue and groove wooden ceiling along with new accent lighting. It really looks beautiful. As these projects seem to go, we soon decided to remove the old tile floor areas in the rest of the house and bathrooms, and replace it with natural stone so as to make it uniform throughout. With this decision came the remodeling of the master bath and two guest room baths as well. These remodels included the removal of shower tile, mirrors, cabinetry, whirlpool tub, sinks and toilets, lighting, etc. All shower floors and walls were prepped and new tile and stone installed. The master shower was reconfigured for aesthetic purposes, new cabinetry designed and all fixtures, new mirrors, plumbing and lighting replaced. Throughout this entire process Ted showed himself to be very knowledgeable and informed when we came across problems that needed solutions. The people he had working for him were also professional and left the home area as clean and kept up as was possible at the end of the day. We felt very fortunate to have hired him and appreciate his integrity and professionalism. We trust Ted and would work with him again in a heartbeat!

Description of Work: Externa wood on portrions of house needed to be replaced because of rot. After discussion withTed, several suggestions were made, discussed pros and cons and decided on one of the options.

Description of Work: Ted knows his trade very well. He knows how to use the products. He did everything to the estimate and a little bit more to make the job and the look to our house beautiful. I had all the wood replace on all the gable ends of the house. I said I did not want to repair this again. Ted used Nachia fiber cement lap siding board. Plywood went up first then tyvek house wrap and then the lap siding went up. Our house has a new and eye catching look. I would not hesitate to call Ted again for any home improvement in the future.
